hang on.. are gherkins actually called cherkins and i never knew.. wtf looking at that cookie in tinfoil.. makes me wonder if it's possible to make a Naan bread in an airfryer
I haven't watched the video yet Barry, but I just had this thought, I know you have connections to Sorted Food, have you ever thought about collaberating for a cooking battle or something? Because I'm watch the hell out of that
I thought exactly the same, was really excited for the potential garden kitchen activities... have to admit I'm a little sad about the reality, although I do understand the why.
That’s exactly what I thought. I wonder if that’s a US thing. In the UK is an outdoor kitchen really in another building? Or does Barry just call it that.
I make an "Impossible Quiche" recipe that Bisquick, USA pancake/biscuit mix, published in the 70's. You blend eggs, milk and bisquick mix together and pour over whatever vegetables, meat and/or cheese in a deep pie baking dish. The biscuit settles to the bottom making a soft crust. Super simple, use whatever available and quick dinner; it's been a family favorite forever!
My wife and I do something similar to the breakfast bake, only instead of pancake batter, we use a mix of eggs and milk. Or rather, we did, before eggs started requiring a line of credit at the grocer's. 💸
Hey that’s pretty cool that you have a separate kitchen on your own property! I think this will be a fantastic thing… especially for Mrs Barry. No more burning toaster smell in the house yeah? 😆 It’s like your own personal office. Looking forward to seeing the progress! Love watching the building process.
Mrs Barry sounds like my carers who are so bad at never returning items to their correct locations and finding ridiculous places for them instead (which means when I try and find something or when I ask a different carer to find something, we can never find them and spend ages looking!) I now have a polite sign asking them to return items to their rightful home.
@@mrbarrylewis 😂 that’s the sort of thing I could imagine my mum saying to my Dad, he’s retired so does all the cooking but mum still likes to decide where things go 😅
@@mrbarrylewis it's not to teach a lesson, she just organizes her mind different to you. similar thing happens when i organize my space, i cant find anything just because its not where it was
Oooh I know it may be a while until we get any, but looking forward to videos filmed in the new garden kitchen! Always excited to see a new space created and organized exactly how the creator wanted it to be
Nothing wrong with "The Garden Kitchen" as a name for the second kitchen, it just makes me wish there was a kitchen garden where ya get your fresh herbs from...
I love your haircut. It’s fantastic on you. It fits your personality perfectly. I eat spinach for breakfast every day. That breakfast bake looks great. I think I would use besan flour for my “pancake mix”. It will add more protein to the proceedings. You can use that pickle juice in recipes. Like a few tablespoons in taco meat. Or like a sprinkle on fish the way you might squeeze lemon. Should be good.
That breakfast bake reminded me of a recipe my grandma loves to cook called Broccoli Puff. It’s just a similar batter with chopped up frozen broccoli and covered with cheese. Needless to say, yours looked much better!
In the US we have this stuff called Pam (the generic name is cooking spray) which is a spray can with a very light flavorless oil that you can spray on a pan or foil etc to grease it evenly in seconds without having to get your hands all greasy.
The taco pickle makes me think of south asian pickle (achar), which is what piccalilli is based off of. If you’re thinking of trying out preserves, pickling methods from around the globe may be cool to look at! When you were making the breakfast bake and put the potato on top, i did think it would be better with egg, seasoning and flour mixed in to give it a crispy hash brown-esque top - would never have thought pancake batter would do the trick
Love videos and Extremely Excited about the new kitchen and doing some new ideas. Some live cooking and doing some more guests makes future me very happy. I miss your tag team cooking.
Hey, just an idea but if you molded that cookie dough with walls to create a giant cookie cup.. well that could hold some cream in the middle for a very sweet treat.
That breakfast bake reminds me of something I was making over the beginning of lockdown - throw a mix of stuff into a thing to bake in, add in some bread (entirely your choice) and cheese is always goods! Cover it with beaten eggs with milk/butter/cream/etc if you want it. Throw into oven. Wait until egg is cooked. Eat.
Ooo ooo... or something to memorialize Amy! My brain isn't working well enough to come up with something quirky right now but eventually something will pop up.
Amazing as per usual . I have seen pickles also done with powdered ranch dressing in the jar. Love Boston !!!!! Garden kitchen should be Boston's bistro and bakery !
because i use a lot of salt and peppers in the meals i make we get a few empty grinders to use with other stuff, so far i have a grinder for peanuts, cashew nuts, almond nuts, hazelnut, bacon... dried fruit like banana, apple, pear, dates now i can air dry almost anything in the airfryer i now grind all kinds of stuff on top of meals.
Absolutely amazing recipes! :) I am also truly excited for all the new formats and ideas you have in mind, Barry! :) This year will be sooo good for your channel! :)
Do the preserving videos! Home canning is so much easier than people think and it would be great to give the hobby (for some necessity!) that visibility!
So excited for your new kitchen !! The move to that house was brilliant. Thanks for the air fryer tests: I'm going to try the air fryer cookie. (Breakfast bake in various iterations has made the rounds for yonks, but the user of air fryer could well be a game changer.)
Heads up, the flavor will develop with time. To make proper pickles, you need to let them sit for at least a week. That is what develops the flavor through the entire pickle. With the spices in there, that flavor will intensify and soak through the entire pickle with time. Right now, it is just sitting on the top. If you like spicy pickles, you can add jalapenos to chilis to the jar and you will end up with super spicy pickles.
So jealous of your garden kitchen I do have a really primitive one in the shed I used when my house was being renovated last year only has microwave, mini cooker, fridge, blender and a washing up bowl 🤣, very primitive. Keep on with the air fryers recipes. I love using mine
Really enjoying the videos Barry. Noticed you have added some comments, keep up the excellent work. Looking forward to the new kitchen setup, exciting times ahead for everyone. I'd keep the name simple... the BGK (Barry's Garden Kingdom). Keep being you.
First time watching your video. Really fun. We've been making that casserole in the US for decades. The mix is called Bisquick. We used to make lots of good things with it. Look up Bisquick Impossible pies. There are several varieties.
I am absolutely here for a 10-minute Air Fryer cookie! 😁 In fact I think I'll be trying that and the breakfast bake too! (I wonder if you could do a smaller version in an air fryer? 🤔).
"I don't know what's happening." We know, Barry; we know. One would think you would have learned your lesson when you tried to air-fry a big loaf of bread, blocking off the air circulation (an air-fryer like that only has the heating element above what you are cooking, and it relies on the fan blowing the hot air around and underneath the food to fully cook it; that's why it comes with that little stand with all the holes to make a space underneath the food) and was raw on the bottom. It's not that you didn't grease the foil that the cookie was sticking, it's because the bottom of that cookie was RAW because you blocked all the hot air from circulating beneath it.

A snickle seems like the ideal thing to have tried with Ashens for the next get together there, hah.
A snikkel in Dutch is actually a male reproductive organ. Which made the sentence "what's going on in my mouth" extremely funny to me 😂
Hahaha ik snap je volledig
Oh crikey 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was looking for someone comment on that. 🤭🥒
OMG...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I stoped at 11 seconds in the video just for this comment 🤣🥒
when you first said 'garden kitchen', i was imagining an outdoor kitchen of sorts, with a barbeque/grill and a pizza oven
I forget that UK Garden = US backyard. I had a visual of it being outside too!
I thought exactly the same, was really excited for the potential garden kitchen activities... have to admit I'm a little sad about the reality, although I do understand the why.
Worry not. If I got this correctly, Barry will add the outdoor cooking area with, yes, a BBQ zone and a pizza oven!
That’s exactly what I thought. I wonder if that’s a US thing. In the UK is an outdoor kitchen really in another building? Or does Barry just call it that.
A name for your outdoor kitchen: Mr. Barry’s “Paprika” Outdoor Kitchen!😂😂
You could call the new Kitchen 'the Stonkin' Box' :P
Stonkin' through the garden in my gumboots
Idea for the garden kitchen: Barry's Garden Of Eating! (As in Eden) 😉💙 Thank you for the video.

You know you've properly made it as a cooking youtuber when you can have two kitchens. Living the dream!
As someone who doesn't like the taste or texture of eggs, a breakfast bake that is pancake-based rather than egg based is a revelation!
You might really like clafoutis recipes, it's a French oven-based pancake. There are sweet and salty versions.

Barry and viral recipes! A classic combo on par with orange and chocolate!
Thanks Daniel!
Citrus and chocolate do NOT go together!
@@DumbArse I agree!
Just an FYI, you can get parchment liners for the air fryer and they work really well. I use them all the time.

I would cook the breakfast bake in the aírfryer too
We hardly use the oven now
I’ve seen them put kool-aid packets in pickles before. Never tried it but it’s real popular in the south.
