My wife purchase the same bike last spring. I volunteered to brake it in for her :) . I put a 1000 miles on it driving around the Rocky Mountains. It takes just about 1000 mi to get the hang of driving it coming off motorcycles. Once you do - it's a blast to ride !!!!!! Can-am has a driving school which my wife attended to get her three wheel endorsement in Colorado. The bikes handles curves, high altitude, cold with no problems. After one 4 hour ride I was totally relaxed. BTW in Colorado if you have a motorcycle endorsement you can drive the Can-am without the three wheel endorsement on your driver license.
Excellent review. One of the reasons I am buying a spider is because I live in Ohio and the weather is all over the place. I am not a car person. I’ve always ridden on two wheels or taken public transportation. The spider would be perfect for me. It would give me the safety and the convenience of having my own transportation without sacrificing fun. You’re breaking demo floored me. I knew the spider was pretty awesome. I just didn’t know how awesome. I like to Sea to sky I just wish it was red and black. I have my heart set on the red and flat black model RT Limited. Looks like it’s going to happen this year.
Generally it’s safe in corners to not have the transmission shift up on you. It could change the expected balance which, in extremes and cause an accident. People also think there’s no need to lean in on corners. This is where the training Can Am provides is important. Three wheels or not, it still has to obey the laws of physics. The first thing I taught my partner was to lean in when I did. Keeping weight over the inside wheel makes things a lot safer. 😊
Just got a used 2021 RT Limited....with 750 miles on it. Facing my first trip from Vegas to San Diego in a few weeks. I'll be ok, just worried about everyone else. 😕
Get passenger hand rails, it will make your wife feel safe.. did it for my wife. Also, I use the helite for myself and my wife.. worth keep yourself safe.
You said that most purchases are from people new to the Power Sports world, but yet you compare many of the features to a 2 wheeled bike. If you are new to a bike, a comparison to another is not going to be valid. I have owned 3 of these from 2015 to current, upgrading every few years. We ride 95 percent of the time 2 up, and my wife said she has never felt unstable on the back. It is possible to remove the rear trunk and back rest on the 2020 bikes and newer, and yes, without a backrest for the passenger, that is a pretty unsecure feeling. We love these bikes, and the ability to control when and if I want to up-shift, is one of the best features. If I want to have some fun, the shifts are further apart. Just to cruise and relax, I shift sooner to keep things smoother.
I live in the UK, which is full of inclement weather towards the US. Apart from mid summer, it's usually raining here or overcast most of the time. Do you think the RT or the F3 are capable of handling in the wet? Also, you mentioned fuel/gas, what are they like and on average how far do you think you can get on a full tank. I appreciate this varies between models and could depend on riding style but keeping costs down compared to a car is important to me, the same as good looks and looks and feel of the bike is?
Yes, they're very good in the wet. In fact, if you watch my video on Winding Road, I shot it in the rain th-cam.com/video/g-sHin-0jnI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3bUOM6ld8Zesuzjf 200 miles a tank on average, maybe 150 zipping at highway speeds.
I’ve ridden my Ryker Rally through an absolute downpour before and other than being completely drenched, I never felt like I was going to lose control. You do feel the trike slow down due to the huge amount of water but it never once acted like it was going to go crazy.
I appreciated your review but don't agree with your assessment, yes the one thing I hate about the bike is the automatic transmission it is a problem I'm enjoying the ride now I have to remember to shift what a pain. I did notice why you wear all that safety equipment which you should because you are not safe when you drive(look at the video where you ran the red light), I love my sea-to-sky bike and you need to stay with your motorcycle.
Your to negative, it’s not a motorcycle, so why compare it to one? You should also compare it to all road going vehicles, it’s definitely way funnier than most any other vehicle. You even complain about your go pro.
$32k, NOT $52k! Typo 😅
Good correction. 😉
I just priced a '23 leftover for $26K.
I was 52?? Where'd you go..I've seen em for 38 to 40..sea t skys..i have a 22F3L..an ride w the local cam am club
Holy crap! Haha... I thought $52k??? $32k is more like it..
😂

The RTL and S2S are much the same. They both use the same platform and safety features.
Rear armrest would have made her feel more comfortable.

Now THIS is a bike that’s perfect for a Hi Viz jacket 😆
Nice review. Semi shift trow me under because comfort is my goal. Now, I'll think twice before get one.

Wow you really keep the RPM up. I try not to go over 3k during upshifting. The brake pedal always feels mushy.

That’s the fun of riding a Spyder, is shifting gears up and down.

I have the F-3S it the sporty model . Love it!!!
10/10 for the helite jacket. ❤
Stuck behind a nissan….story of my life pal
Nice video keep up the good work fella
Shifting is a part of the fun! And this bike is not too fussy about when you shift. It will do 90mph in second gear.
55 plus in first. If yo pull the left side skin, you will find the gear shift shaft still sticking out of the left side case.
I have a 2016 Spyder RT-S. Are the steps the same? Mines not showing any power at all and it has the original battery

I don't understand why they split the front dash screen....
I bet we get a DCT before we get Android Auto! I'll keep my RLT22
How much did you pay? The factory price is $33K or so, loaded.
This was a review unit from Can-Am, and yeah it was around this price. I made a typo in the spec sheet
Wonderful video.
Overruled on the shifting thing we like to shift still it’s 100% stupid proof on this
Your Melissa got to have armrest so she do feel safe, drive safe
This bike needs a GPS asap
The new one's do just say the video on it
Okay okay okaaaaay , It's NOT a Honda DCT , Get over it ! As for the passenger , PAY Attention!
Exactly
lol 52, even 32K you may as well get the doors windows roof and the extra wheel. lol
Why would you not want to choose the gear you are in? I don't understand that.
Put the manual back in them things
53k?!?!

Lol it was a typo, it's $30k
Have you try to ride a bit slower ? 😂
dude get your stats right. women owners is not what you're saying. it between 20-30% women riders.
Your to negative, it’s not a motorcycle, so why compare it to one? You should also compare it to all road going vehicles, it’s definitely way funnier than most any other vehicle. You even complain about your go pro.
Stop complaining
30k for this piece of garbage
