Weak abs is faster in my opinion. I play this game since beta and after all the tests i have came, best abs setting is weak and in some cars like ae86 you can use abs off to get even better breaking.

@@Doughtinator You're welcome! I did the same with the cones for a while, but sometimes you end up being launched off track by them once they've been displaced, it got to be quite annoying. I'm a controller player, and for qualifying, i generally land below 2 seconds from the top time. I don' t use the motion sensor, and I recommend using a lower steering sensitivity. It forces me to be way more smooth with my driving, teaching consistency, but more importantly, tire wear. The greatest advantage of the steering wheel is how much easier it is to manage the tires, and keeping a low sensitivity can help massively to combat that advantage. Dr: A and Sr: S. I'm not the best controller player, but I can and do often compete with other steering wheel users

Top split controller driver in 2018-2019 here (switched to wheel after). 7 is totally necessary. I think the next step above where you are at is where 7 becomes important, which is when you want to really start to manipulate the car to do interesting things. Notably, whacking a high aero car down gears for rotation and rapidly turning in to make use of that rotation is what I can think of first. Secondly, it is super important simply any time you go through a chicane. The death chicane is already bottlenecked by steering speed even at 7... you don't want to make it even worse.
The reason you can't run split tyre compounds is because when PD introduced tyre requirements in Sport Mode, you could mix tyres and bypass these requirements entirely. If a race had Softs and Mediums and only Mediums were required, you could run Soft front, Medium rear and just be faster as well as taking out a potential mandatory pit stop. It was really bad for car balance, especially in Gr.4 where some cars had immense grip and others had awful rear stability (4C, Cayman etc.). This was PD's countermeasure to running split compounds.
I got the G29 and have been running 4 and 5 so going to try later it with 10 later tonight and report back. I struggle to stay with the top lads in my racing league so hope this works. Thanks for the tips. New to the wheel.
Holy shit! You're a champion! I'm a decent driver but am always 2 to 3 seconds off the top of the leaderboard and always racing ten tenths. Hit apexes perfectly, slow in fast out. Yet other identical players could just take corners faster than me pre mandatory pit stop. Pushed the car j could never figure out why I couldn't get faster with bop locked. Never realised I had to change front tyres before rears. Always thought I was stuck with a hard compound n that's it. There's me extra 2 or 3 seconds going to a medium compound Thanks my dude! 🤙
I use a G29 myself and don't agree with your explanation of FFB sensitivity. Your settings do give a lot of resistance, but in my opinion too much all the time to be able to distinctly distinguish grip from loss of grip. I use 4/1 - that way I know that I have full grip when the wheel is heavy, and when the wheel goes super light I know I've lost grip. With 4/1, I can easily feel grip loss and the weight of the car, while with your settings it's much much harder to feel the difference and react quickly. Using FFB sens 10 and max torque beyond 1 is rubbish in my opinion - there's hardly any difference in weight between grip and loss of grip. TLDR: I want maximum contrast in weight between grip and slide - 4/1 gives me that. Sound from tyre squeal completes everything I need to know. Try it!
That's interesting, I might give that a try, I usually like to play with a light FFB setting as my wheel mounting method isn't as secure as I'd like it to be. its always interesting to hear other peoples thoughts and feedback, thanks for sharing 👍
Excellent. Thanks for the sub. Really appreciated 👍🏻 Yeah liveries are secrets that no one usually shares. Easily a few 10ths faster with a great looking car 🤣🤣

I know I’m in the minority when it comes to the controller sensitivity and a wheel. Try the same test as you did going from 7 to -2. Also try running a few laps on your preferred track. Like 5 laps at-2 and then 5 laps at 7. Better yet test those sensitivity settings in the drift trial part of the game. You should be able to notice a huge difference between the settings. I’m very interested to see what you think. Cheers 🍻
Edit: I’m only familiar with the G29 wheel. I meant to say ( if your still on a G29) test the wheel with different controller sensitivity settings not using a DS4. Appreciate your reply.
I haven’t made that video yet. In sport mode. A lot of the time those settings are locked. I’ll think to see if I can make a video like that. Thanks for the suggestion 👍🏻
I've been using the same setting with my G29 and for some reason the cars always feel like the traction control is still on even though its switched completely off at least compared to other games like Asseto Coursa and Project Cars. In those games if I accelerate mid corner too hard, I can spin easily whereas I feel like Gran Turismo doesn't punish you for giving max throttle mid corner. I can feel understeer but not much oversteer, maybe its just me IDK haha
I'll probably make a video in the future, but for now, here are the headlines. Thanks for the feedback. Hope it helps. For the FFB. It can be driver preference. But on some of the weaker wheels it can’t produce torque over ‘4’ or something like that. So some of the differences in feedback is lost in the higher end. I also prefer a lighter feeling wheel. I think it allows me to overcome the car a little more instead of the car fighting me.
The brakes won't work on my hori apex wheel on this specific game, do you know how do I fix this?? Furthermore it doesn't vibrate. I know it doesnt have force feedback but they said it has simple vibration

Is the motion controls on dualshock 4 affected of the sensitivity settings or it is just the analog stick thats affected. The only thing i didn't do like yours is traction control because i cant control the car with a controller.
That’s a very good question. I think the sensitivity when using motion controls does have an effect. I think (ive not tested) that higher sensitivity when using motion controls means you don’t need to rotate the controller as much to get full steering. Defo worth testing. You can do it from in car view and check how much the in-game wheel rotates compared to your motion control movement. 👍🏻

Hmm that’s strange. It should just work. Aside from hardware issue there isn’t anything that would stop it working. Is there another controller you can test? Is the motion controls on dualshock 4 affected of the sensitivity settings or it is just the analog stick thats affected. The only thing i didn't do like yours is traction control because i cant control the car with a controller.
That’s a very good question. I think the sensitivity when using motion controls does have an effect. I think (ive not tested) that higher sensitivity when using motion controls means you don’t need to rotate the controller as much to get full steering. Defo worth testing. You can do it from in car view and check how much the in-game wheel rotates compared to your motion control movement. 👍🏻
Using traction control is no problem. It is a little slower. (For ultimate laptimes) but it really does make things a lot easier 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator i tried and it didn't feel different so i think it doesn't have an effect
@@Doughtinator i use tc at 2 and yeah for hotlaps and some cars that have better rear end i make it 0.
Thanks for testing 👍🏻 yeah it is most likely is for analogue stick only then.
Thank you !!!
No problem. Hope these settings help. Let us know how you get on 👍🏻
Thanks
All good Michael 👍🏻
Hi there! I play gt7 on my controller, but I have a problem.. I'm holding down R2 (which is my acceleration button) and you'd expect that I'd get full throttle on the game... But I never get full power.. how can I change this or what do I need to do? Hopefully you'll read this and help me out! 😁🙈
Hmm that’s strange. It should just work. Aside from hardware issue there isn’t anything that would stop it working. Is there another controller you can test?
If I remember right the throttle brake bars don’t go all the way. I think maybe 1 pixel away. Watch others gameplay videos and see if it matches what you see. Hope that helps 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator I had a spare controller and it worked. Thing is it was still the first controller when I bought my PS4 so it has served me well, but now it's dead. 🤣
Glad you found the problem 👍🏻
Thanks! How bout one on wheel mapping?
Yes I could make a video on that. Good idea! 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator thank you. I also have a problem accessing the MFD guide.
Second chicane down Mulsane there's a clearing in the woods on the right just before the 100 meter mark. That's your marker. Because you and I both know the cones are run down.
If they are gone, hit pause, disable them, go out of options, go back in enable them and they are back.
I run ABS weak in road cars, much better braking, but have to be careful.
The tire change quirk is from the time when people ran different compounds on the two axels to get around the mandatory use
All great points! Thanks for sharing them 👍🏻👍🏻
Subscribed lol
Awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
HOW CAN I SET QUALITY MODE ON PS5 HEEEELP
Afraid I can’t help. I don’t have a PS5. I hope you can get it worked out 👍🏻
What’s auto drive?
Honestly. I have no idea. I assume it’s auto acceleration maybe. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Doughtinator it's when u in the pit
It autodrives in their for u
Thanks for the clue on changing liveries.
Did you say in sport mode tires need to be the same front and back?
Yeah. I think people could get away with tire requirements in sport mode races by running different front/rear and they patched that exploit.
What setting steering wheel g29?
Yeah I’m using a g29. 👍🏻
You same too please what ffb setting driver ?
I have never plugged my G29 into a PC so it’s just default.
Gran Turismo is the best races for me. I have a series of videos on the YT channel from races on ps5
Yeah. I agree. There is not much that can beat GT Sport for racing! 👍🏻👍🏻
my g29 shakes i can’t even drive straight in gts
This doesn’t sound normal. What setting are you using?
Fastest setting are weird mate i go down in pp but also in time LoL the setup on my swapped bmw should be crap concerning the pp vs hp but drives really good
Yeah. PP isn’t right.
@@Doughtinator here my swapped bmw for a m3 e46 this crazy th-cam.com/video/VPJKH3WXZIw/w-d-xo.html
#1 Tip Make it look fast to go fast.
100% 👍🏻👍🏻
All my car does is oversteer and power slide traction control is on
Which car are you driving?
@@Doughtinator what's the best car? Do you still play
I’ve not played GT Sport since GT7 launched. I can’t remember the best car. What race are you trying?
top your content👍👍👍
Thanks Man 👍🏻👍🏻
what is the button for whiper ?
I don’t think it is mapped by default. You can go into controller settings to map it.
@@Doughtinator how ?
From the controller settings menu.
I thought the sensitivity was reversed 1 being the most sensitive and 10 the least
Yeah. I’m sure 10 is most. I tested it and I can feel most when it’s at 10 👍🏻
Ok thanks. Just wanted to confirm as I got mixed info on this.
Yeah no worries. Always good to give it a test. It’s a really quick change and you can do it while out on track too 👍🏻
Warum zeigst du das dann wenn es e nicht geht
Should still work for GT Sport 👍🏻
Everyone knows a livery adds 20bhp at least... 😂 Great guide! Thanks.
Haha!! Minimum 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you liked it. Hope it helps out on the track 👍🏻
Everyone watch till the end. Because the very last tip is the most important!
🤣🤣 for sure!!
Who's going to be the 100th comment?? 🔥
Yes abs is easier but why not play off for a real challenge? Pros dont use it lol
it’s fun with it off. But much harder. In real life. If the racing series allows it it’s most often used.
@@Doughtinator yes so much fun and rewarding off...i don't know which races would allow it in gt sport so I leave it off lol once mastered you can go round faster with it off anyway 😀 feel free to tell me which races or cars use ABS haha
Come on Guys these Settings are really personal....
Everybody needs to figure out what settings are best 4 themself.
yeah, you can definitely find settings that you feel most comfortable with. they may not be exactly like other use
is it just me or does anyone else feel like using abs is cheating? since i know in most motorsports such as F1 abs is not used
I agree. For a long time when I first started I tried playing without. But it’s such a huge disadvantage without it. It was really frustrating. A lot of endurance and sports car racing does allow it though 👍🏻
do you think this would make up for the couple of seconds i lose to people on most tracks? since i usually break way earlier than others
Yeah 100% and most importantly it will help consistency. Switch it to default and just fully brake until you need to turn in. Then ease off the brakes as you apply steering to the apex. You’ll find a chunk of time 👍🏻
Also did you purposefully make the video to end at 11:11? Lol
I actually didn’t. Completely at random. But lucky I think. Usually TH-cam adds on 1 second to a video length so it’s completely by chance 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator awesome work bro keep it up see you on fb gtsport group and your always involved so keep vibing my friend great guide also :-)
Thanks Man. Really appreciate that. 👍🏻👍🏻
You can be just as fast with ABS off, just get gud
May be possible to be fast. But it’s WAY harder. If everyone else is using default then why make it harder for yourself. The fast guys are so fast. No reason to make it harder for yourself.
theres no fastest setting in GTsport, theres only the one who works for you. You dont seem to be those annoying clickbaiter, so dont go to the dark side
You make a very good point. There are a lot of settings that are personal preference. But in my opinion. ABS setting to Default is ALWAYS fastest no matter how you drive.
