You have to push the orange button on the ams when pulling filament out, you’re ruining the gears yanking it like that
Nice, first one explaining this 👍🏻 but I think their may be another step where you have click on the ams to turn it off. I'm not by it right now but I had to do another step when I wanted to start printing. Still, thank you.
I turn off Ams and I don’t see External Spool on the next page. It just gives me the spools that’s on the AMS
I was looking everywhere for documentatio on this, thank you for explaining it.
I had a few people ask about this before I made the video. So you’re not alone.
What's the next step? In Bambu Studio it's still displaying my AMS Lite and it slices the file with AMS commands in it.
Same problem here. Nobody has the answer so I just unplugged the AMS and it defaulted to the external spool. I've not been able to find a way to do it without unplugging the AMS.
thanks for explaing this
thanks for the explaining, but can I use also the other 3 colors on the AMS lite?
because I don't want to use my Glow in the Dark filament in the AMS. I heard that GITD destroyed the feeder unit.
I try to use a Y splitter but the filament loading stuck every time.

Vary informative, thanks for posting this! I have not tried using the external spool yet but would like to use up some small-hub quarter-kg spools. Is there a way to print a base object from the external spool and then switch to the AMS to add multicolor layers on top of it?
Thank you so much for explaining how to use the external spool arm. Got some iridescent filament want to use but was having heck of a time figure out how to use it.
You're welcome, thanks for the comment.
Can you use in multicolor one filament on external and other filament in the AMS Lite at the same time?
Why not just take one out of the AMS and put that one? Serious question i have one too..
Some filaments aren’t AMS compatible so you have to print them from the external spool holder. Specifically flexible filaments like TPU and I think some of the carbon fiber filaments also aren’t AMS compatible because they are very abrasive and will wear out the AMS internal parts.
@@3DPrintStuff thank you for your answer... learned the hard way lol
I Was about to go through thr hell of that blue thing by the PTFE tube this is much better thank you.
Thank you been wondering if I could do this.
Thanks!!!!
So, i can use this extra spool when the AMS its working to print 5 colors or its not possible??
Nah, It is used for rolls that dont fit the ams or stuff like tpu. I use it to hang my prusa spools that should be 2mm wider to fit the ams lite
