I was watching until 9.30min thinking a Jan climb alone of such an isolated Munro - that would challenge the courage of many - well at least he got ideal conditions - but then that Scottish weather turned in minutes! 🥶 What an amazing day out precious memories. A treasure of wild beauty walked and shared. Thanks for the inspiration.👏👏
Great video, I've just completed this, I sheltered under the same rock and the true summit caught me out! Within 5 minutes of me reaching the summit, the ridge turned into whiteout conditions which made for an interesting return.
Great to see a normal day out on the hills mate😁 with the Scottish weather! And thanks for the recommendation on taking the MTB👍🏻! You did really well filming in those conditions 👏🏻
Another great video James, in adverse conditions to say the least 😨, I have great memories of Gulvain on a beautiful sunny winters day, knee deep in snow, I don't think you'll forget this one in a hurry 🤣 ATB Brian 👍
Hi James, Well done, a real mixed bag of weather conditions but the tops were clear. Your face at the trig point was classic...lol. Take care, Charlie.
Thanks Charlie, you will recognise a lot of this 😂 I wasn’t expecting such a drop, enjoyed it none the less! Weather not been great since so the Munros have been on hold, Atb, James
Great to see a wee corner of Scotland I know basically nowt about! A real mixed bag of conditions there too. I was scunnered by a few awkwards river crossings in the Cairngorms a few weeks back too! Unexpectedly un-crossable!
That looks like a fabulous mountain! Rough conditions though. I wonder if the team that erected the trig point were also caught out by the false summit... would love to have seen their faces once they realised their mistake!
4 seasons! Brilliant James. Not been here yet and now suitably prepared for that long walk out to the summit! Great wee ridge section too.....well done mate! Paul
That looked a really hard days walk. The wind did not make things easy. When it started to snow it must have looked a long way back to the bike and then the car. Thank you for taking me somewhere that is now beyond me. Great to see.
I contemplated turning back with the wind on the way up, but it seemed to die down eventually 😁 yes that was a struggle on the way back - my waterproofs accepted defeat 😂 thanks for watching, Atb, James
Some great views despite the weather. A most enjoyable video to watch. My first ascent of Gulvain was from Glen Pean Bothy. I went up via the south summit but could not be bothered to go back that way so I descended straight from the main summit. It was a good deal more “entertaining” than I was completely comfortable with.
Got pretty lucky with visibility considering the weather 😁 that sounds like an adventure! Not so sure about the direct descent though 😂 thanks for watching Atb, James

Yeah like always, the weather changed quick 😂 These are the sort of days I enjoy most - challenging & rewarding!
Cheers, James

It’s definitely tougher than it looks on the map 😂

Even with the clouds and rain some very nice views and colors.
Was quite atmospheric with the clouds! Didn’t enjoy the rain on the way out 😂 Thanks for watching,

Its a great area 😁 haha the river crossings can be unpredictable at this time of year, adds to the excitement I suppose 😂

It was a great day looking back, haha I dare say it would be easy to do in misty conditions 😂
Good stuff James 👍
Thanks for watching Andy 😁

Nice 1 James
A tough day indeed.
Thanks mate, Part of the Munro Journey I suppose 😁

Do you lock your bike or hide it? Or just hope it’s still there? Great video
I locked it there, if its pretty remote i’ll just leave it sitting.. been alright so far😁
Cheers, James
Great video. Was that Google maps or another app you used for the graphics?
Thank you, yes it was google earth 😁 atb, James
Good vid that one. What equipment did you use to film yourself on the bike, on the way out?
Thank you 😁 Its an Insta360 One R, the only camera to survive the cold. I use it for the first person POV shots aswell 😁
