Brings back a lot of memories. Myself and my mate did the 8 over two days walking camping on Socach. We left the packs on the summit and climbed Ceathreamhnan then onto Dheiragain. Then directly dropping down and onto Socach for a magnificent sky camp. Then 5 on the way out. Good grief I was fit then this was my biggest outing but the Fischer Fields was the biggest single day. So pleased to watch you bringing it all back to me. The outing I did was July 96. Nearly there keep it up! Great footage.
Great video James bringing back fantastic memories. Did those three in 1991 when I was a lot younger and fitter. The previous day 3 of us tackled Toll Creagach, Tom a'Choinich, Carn Eighe, Mam Sodhail and Beinn Fhionnlaidh then camped in Gleann a Choillich after a 10 hour day. The next day we did Mullach na Dheiragain, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and An Socach before walking out along Glen Affric after 11 hours. In 2006 did the threee again Climbed An Socach from YH and camped high before doing Mullach na Dheiragain and Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan another long day. Bike certainly helped on second trip!!
Awesome James, what a place, fantastic. Thanks for this. Sadly I will never climb those Munros they are far to remote for me but how brilliant to see them!
I love your videos mate. Im originally from Scotland but live abroad now and never got the chance to explore the munro's, but it's something i would love to do in the future. Loving your journey and good luck with the remaining hikes
Another great video!! I love the use of the word Solitude, often people ask me if climbing Munro's on my own is lonely and I always reply it's not loneliness it's solitude. Huge difference. Not many to go mate!!👌❤️
Hi James, love it mate. Glen Affric is a special place for me as it was where I spent a week with my Dad a few years ago and we did our first two Munro’s. I always love watching people’s videos in the area. I have a canvas print of the old fisherman’s cottage by the loch on my wall at home. All the best mate Dave 😀⛰🥾⛰🏴🏴
Well done James. Tried these three some years ago from Camban Bothy which is a 3 mile walk from the YH. We took one look across to MND and said forget it, and bagged the other two. MND eventually got done from Iron Lodge after an easy cycle in on the excellent track.
I did these last year , one night stay at the hostel , own sleeping bag but there was extra blankets if you need them plus a shower. Passing walkers could get a tea and coffee if they put money in the tin. Met a lady on the walk who had walked in from clunie, and met another lady who summited An Socach twice because she dumped her backpack and wanted to pick it up on the way down and missed it. That cycle in after strawberry cottage is a real bummer .I got scorching weather for these on a friday but by Sunday it was a white out, got to love the Scottish weather , great vid and well done you , cheers from Brechin
Its a tough group whichever way you tackle it.. makes it more rewarding once you reach the summit though 😁 the cycle in did get rough after Strawberry Cottage.. Thanks for watching, James
Wow James what an amazing story of a big day. Your legs must have been done by the end. Not an area I've explored but it looks immense. Love the amount of pre planning that goes into stashing lucozade in a stream for the return path. Stealing that for future reference.
Excellent James. Done these from iron lodge with bike included demoted top and top to the west. I believe the longest day of the year was 21st of June. Good luck with your Compleation Hopefully soon.
Great hike great vid, its good you point out the munros and route.. Still to do these three, Glen Affric is an amazing area , but i intend to leg it in from GlenShiel ... Love your CGI bee 😂
Thank you - I was temped to walk from Glen shiel but its a slightly longer drive for me so made sense taking the bike.. haha I wish it was a CGI bee 😂 perfect timing.. Cheers, James
A fantastic effort and a really long day. I, like you indicated, backpacked around the area, starting to the north at iron Lodge. I think the days were easier than your mega day. It does not matter how you approach the big Munro it is exhausting. Well done again.
Brilliant 😃 done these last month with the walk In and out from loch cluanie, 6 miles of the worst bog i have ever experienced so far to reach the youth hostel, done the hills in reverse and took 13 hours from car to car, had to invest in new pair of boots the next day. Looking forward to your next video.
Its a tough walk in from that direction, I actually done a fair bit of it in my next video.. that must have been an epic trip though! Lovely area.. Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney looking forward to seeing that, you definitely put up the best videos for hill walking and they are a great guide on what's expected, shame for us viewers your nearly getting to the end of your journey.
Unbelievable James, following you right to the end 🙌🏻 Hike a bike is a different ball game. Tackling Ben Alder 6 next weekend which is similar stats to what you have done. Can’t wait. Good luck for the balance. You will need your tell everyone what your last one will be as you might get some support from your channel 👍🏻
I may have done An Teallach this week 😆 I totally agree.. it is probably the best day I have ever had in the mountains.. but just wasn’t suitable for friends/family to join.. video coming soon 😁 Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney To be fair I did the Ring of Steel on dead legs. The day before went up to Ben Lui, I then got cramp on the way down navigating those mud pits. Still managed Ring of Steel in 8 hours but I make up time on the flat and on the descent. Are you still going to be posting videos once you have done all the Munros?
Great to see you enjoying a great day out like that. I am sure that there is a much easier way to do these with a longer distance bike, but so much flatter and smoother that it is probably quicker. The ride is up to Iron Lodge from Killilan. This opens up a simple round of these 3 and includes the lovely noth ridge of Ceathreamhan. I have used it for a circuit of 6 round to Beinn Fhionlaidh. Definitely worth considering on your future visits to this area.
What an effort! The image of the stags running through the water was stunning 😍 Great video 👏

Your videos could not be better. They are a real joy to watch. Just hoping they continue long after the munros have been completed!
Well said.
I was thinking that as well💖
Thank you, im hoping to continue them after the Munros - Scottish Corbett Journey 🤔 😁
Excellent video covering those remote hills. You did really well to get all three in the day.
It was a big day! Worth the effort though
Wow what a day, thanks for taking us with you James😊

Well done, that's quite a long and hard day. I was in Glen Affric earlier this year, it really is remote - and beautiful.
Another stunning video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely views, and amazing that you had those mountains all to yourself on Midsummer's Day!
@@natalieminnis it was a day to remember anyway, think I seen one person on the cycle back and that was it.. rare these days 😂
James, top video, again!. Enjoyed the camera work and the details provided. Very Good!!! as always.

I did these three by walking in and out from Loch Cluanie last Summer. Your video captures the remoteness of these munros.
@@bennevis21 I was tempted to do that, you might want to watch my next video and you will recognise the walk in 😁
Fantastic video. Breathtaking views. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing. 👍1
17 left! Well done mate. Been following your journey since near the start and cant believe how quickly you are getting the round done!
Fabulous video James! Great seeing these amazing views. A very long day, so well done! Atb, Trapper
Thank you 😁
Fantastic day with fabulous views. You just so lucky with the clouds.
I have been.. but not in the next few videos 😂

Phew.. bloody long day that! But ur ticking off thick and fast 👍🏻
Haha I didn’t even know that had happened until I watched it back 😂 getting there now mate 🤞🏼🏔
That's quite a cairn you're standing on there at the end James - almost like aa small broch!
I think it was originally a shelter on Mam Sodhail, a very remote one at that!

Excellent as always man. What next when you bag them all?
