    A lot of videos are long and provide too much information or are cut short on Holley carbs. I did my best to create a short Holley carb tuning series for my fellow Holley carb guys. Hope it helps and please subscribe!
    I cover the fallowing:
    Holley float adjustment
    accelerator pump adjustment
    Power valve choice
    idle air adjustment screw
    idle adjustmant
    holley squirters
    Holley Jets
    Holley cam assortment

    Probably the best 2 Holley carburetor videos. A great amount of detail and the example runs at the end of part 2 were genius.

    I enjoyed that and I don't even know much about carburetors. It was a bit advanced for me but probably just the right speed for someone who has such a carburetor. I see the benefits of liquid courage.

    Really informative, well presented, and clear. I rely on you guys to help me tune my car, as here in the UK help is sketchy. Now I finally understand how to get the most from my individual set up. I have a 454 BBC Edelbrock Performer heads, and intake, plus loads of nice internal bits and MSD ignition, but my car still lacked punch , now I have it sorted, thanks. I notice you have Nos, I think I will do the same next, so I will see if you have a video on this, cheers Dude :)

    This is a fantastic video! I have been having issues with hard launch/engine shut off for a couple of months now. I shock the tires and my Buick pulls HARD all the way UNTIL I lift my foot off the gas pedal ... then the motor shuts off. I don't know if it's getting too much or not enough fuel. I had fuel pressure regulator installed two weeks ago, and it still happens. I am going to use this video as guidance, and adjust my Holley 850 myself. I really appreciate this video. 👍👍

    You should mention when you have a flooding Holley just simply remove the top screw and adjusting nut with the needle and seat in your hand blow out the trash reinstall and set your float most likely you need a new filter or clean the fuel tank! I love Holley carburetors 1050 Domnator here!

    • @mickangio16
      @mickangio16 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And if that doesn't stop the flooding the rubber "O" ring on the needle/seat assembly has probably gone bad. Buy a new needle/seat because you will never find the proper size O-ring.

    Curious why at idle you were ok with 15:1? Wouldn't you want it a little more like 12.1, slightly rich , then when you put it in drive it should go up to about 12.7 or so? Thanks? Just curious.

    • @TPVPRO
      @TPVPRO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      NA pump gas 12.5 area is for WOT / power runs. At idle there is no load even just cruising down the highway you want it around 14.0-14.5. If you're idling in the 12s it will load up the plugs over time and cause them to fail.

    • @ubethejudge69
      @ubethejudge69 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TPVPRO Thanks for quick reply! Ok, I have an O2 installed and just beginning my process of optimizing. I had 12.2 at idle and 12.7 in gear but have yet to drive it. The main thing you are saying to determine front jet size on holley 750 vac and even double pumpers is to do a LOAD , gear down to (auto) and do 2nd to 3rd gear WOT blast and monitor the A/F ... It's those results that one cares the most about? I went from 72 stock jet to 69 just because the idle was super rich to start, I had no idea that adjusting the mixture screws would make that much difference. I also tune at full operating temp 190F. Any advise would be great, I'll even report back my findings. Thank you !

  • @79tazman

    So, my Holley double pump carb. If I slightly give it gas. It’s fine.
    If I rev fast and hard, it sounds like it’s about to stall and then the rpm flies up...
    Would that be due to my back squirter? How do I fix that? Do I just adjust my rear accelerator pump spring?

    Is there a way to tune the idle air without having a tach and getting it correct?

    • @jakefriesenjake
      @jakefriesenjake ปีที่แล้ว

      Just keep adjusting the idle mixture screws (keep both or all 4, if you have 4 corner idle, exactly the same) until you hear the engine sound the smoothest with the highest rpm. (if you don't have an rpm gauge)
      If you want 800 rpm, and then after adjusting the mixture it climbs to 900, lower the idle back down to 800.
      Adjust the mixture again, to see if you can get 850 out of it again.
      Reset the idle back down to 800 once done.
      You want highest smoothest idle, while keeping the mixture screws the same turns out.
