Thanks once again Tyler. I work for Lordco here in BC Canada which is an automotive parts retailer. I ordered this product from here and will be arriving on Tuesday. I pay about 45% off of retail. Keep up the great videos 😊
Thank you for great information & sharing your thoughts and progress. Like you I've been chasing & refining my tune for a while - this is one I'll have to try. One of the greatest improvements in throttle response came from the installation of Thompson performance power blast plates to both primary and secondary sides, particularly with the heavy accelerator pump shot I needed. Cheers Mike
Thanks for the vid. I have that lower hole on my blp baseplate and i never even noticed it. Oddly enough i was just questioning why the throttle was sooo progressive
Thank you for posting. Great info. I made the part for 5, at 45 dollars it was high just to see if it worked. Well...it worked great. definitely picked up some snap. First hop on the street the shift light came on quick, I shifted, it stayed on. I usually do not lift when shifting, definitely had some wheel spin.
I was just tinkering with my Proform 750, before watching this. I noticed a high pitch squeal/whistle, when secondaries open. Never noticed it before. Maybe because the engine was louder at the point that they open, stock. Sounds like a compressor engine. I think I heard it on yours as well.

Great videos, Frustrated with idling in gear at a light and loading up. I am going to have to increase my stall speed but do not want it to be to loose. I have a comp hyd roller 286. 230/236, 350ci, 10:1, 67 nova 355's I have the holeshot 2400. I like that it is tight on cruise but think I need to go to the 3000. Wondering what stall you have?
@@TPVPRO I have a 289 sbf w/ a big cam that also idles between 1200-1400. When I bring the idle down a bit the engine stalls. Any ideas how I can adjust idle between 1000 to 1200 rpm? Thanks in advance 🙂
@@benjiedelrosario4346 Check your timing first. I would lock out the distributor. If you have a mechanical advance, the timing could be retarding a lot at low RPM.
@@TPVPRO thanks for that tip. Am using a fairly new pro comp distributor w/o vacuum advance. Initial timing currently at 18 btdc and it stays there at idle.
A specialist in Webber/Holley conversions converted a 850 years ago. This actually should be a way better carburetor but I never hear good reports about them. Is this something I should be concerned about as I haven't got my build finished to use it. What can you tell me ?
The best way know if you're jetting is square with a PV in the front is to first block off all PVs and get a good WOT AFR of 12.5. then put a PV in the front and jet it down until you hit the same AFR you have then confirmed your jetting is square with a PV in the front. But changing the secondary linkage has zero effects on jetting but you may have to retune the discharged nozzles / cams.
You can make all 4 butter flys open at once if you don't care about gas mileage ,I think you should have just went up in # on the squiters ,if you had the correct power valve ,check vacuum say its 20 so you need a #10 power valve then dial in the squiters then the accelerator pumps and then the jets
I went to 46 squirters, and still got a lean tip in at cruise. This fixed it. Yes maybe I could have dIcked around with the PV, but everything was good after the initial lean hit.
I noticed you move the throttle twice on your fast rev up. On second blip to get instant RPM I believe you are carrying over from the accelerator pump shot on the first blip. I believe you double blip to keep from bogging. Then, what the hell do I know? I did the horrible thing on vacuum secondary Holley to put the screw in to override the vacuum diaphram on the linkage. Take it out to get fuel milage on trips. Going to race, put the screw back in. Had 4 speed, so no problem pulling up against torque converter.
So by installing this linkage and making adjustment for the secondary to open 1:1 this will open up my secondary sooner BUT will I need to eliminate my rear power valve in order for this to work
@@ddstaton211locking the rear power valve only needed if you already have too much fuel under part to mid throttle, usually carburetors with billet metering blocks allow for fine fuel adjustments you can thereby eliminate the power valve in most instances. We use to bend the factory linkage to get them to open sooner
Then it was probably opening the secondaries past vertical. Been there done that till I realize I was causing an issue.
Most likely your right, but it picked up our Cutlass .11 in the 60ft

Oddly enough i was just questioning why the throttle was sooo progressive
Put a small square on the base plate and up against the throttle blades to accurately set the blades .
