Please leave the sound on. You don't have to talk the whole time, but the sounds of harvesting, the breeze, the chickens, and even the gravel under your feet are soothing. I'm bed bound most of the time, so these outdoor noises make me happy. 😊
It was a mistake on my part that a few clips were muted..... So sorry about that. I can't change it after the fact but I will do my best to not make that mistake again :) thanks for understanding
I love hearing the sounds of the gravel when you walk through the garden, the chickens, the breeze, the sound of harvesting. Even the sound of you eating from your garden. I’m sorry someone was very rude and said something about that to you. But 99% of us love to hear and all the sounds. It’s like we’re part of it. Thank you for sharing. Love your videos.😊♥️
I love the sounds of nature, you working, and enjoying your harvest. When the sound stopped I had to look to make sure the video hadn’t stopped. I agree with those who say those sounds are relaxing. I would also say they are part of the inspiration that characterizes your videos.
Roll your now empty sprouting shelves onto the patio and use them as drying racks for garlic and onions. Would provide lots of air flow and area to really spread out your product.
Please leave the natural sounds of you working, breathing and eating in the clips. Most of us love the way you normally edit your videos. You don’t need to change how you edit the videos to please only a few that are annoyed. Love your channel. I have been watching for years and this is the only channel that I genuinely get excited for.
How about we just trust Becky instead of questioning every move she makes? Sometimes she makes mistakes (surprise - she's human) and sometimes she makes decisions that are different to what we might make. It's her channel and her content and her LIFE. Why is there this constant correction and harping on small, nitpicky things? Just trust Becky!
I completely agree with everything you said especiallyabout being excited for every video. I too have been watching since the get go in 2020 . She has taught me not only gardening but how to preserve my harvest even though I'm on a much smaller scale than her.
Becky, I have blueberry bushes as well and just learned this year that if you pick the pink ones accidentally, you can just pick those out and set them aside and within two days they will ripen also! Blueberries do continue to ripen, unlike strawberries.
Hi Becky…my name is Denise and I live in Australia. I have been following your channel for a couple of months now and I find you are totally inspiring. I have ordered the Freeze Fresh book and find your baking days just amazing. I don’t know how you find the time to do all you do as well as working outside your home. The size of your vegetable and flower garden is very envious. Congratulations on all you do for yourself and your family. I am looking forward to seeing your further uploads. Keep up the amazing work and content.
Hello beautiful lady! Congratulations on a wonderful harvest. I’ve already been able to can 8 quarts of spicy salsa, 16 quarts of homemade tomato soup, 12 quarts of marinara and 8 quarts of sausage/ tomato/ pepper pasta sauce. And it’s still July! It’s going to be s glorious year. This weekend is the u/pick peaches from a local grower. My garlic has been hardened off and my onions are out of the garden drying too. The peppers are exploding. I am so happy I could cry.
Congratulations! My tomatoes are just starting to blush but I’ve gotten some nice jalapeños already. My fresh green beans sautéed in bacon fat was delicious last night. I’m very small scale and containers are the only thing allowed but I’m happy. I will be overrun with tomatoes and watermelons and I couldn’t be happier. 😁
My Dad planted garlic for many, many years. He would plant it in the fall, and once the stalks were about 4 inches high he would add the ashes from the fireplace to them and then cover with a deep bed of straw. He always got such beautiful bulbs when he harvested them.
Love! I remember when you first moved there and had the builders putting in your garden areas. Wow you did a great job (along with mom and dad of course 😊) cause just look at your bountiful harvests now 💖
She needs to get one of her seed starting racks out and slide the tops between the bars to hang by the bulb. Takes up a whole lot less room and is mobile if it looks like rain.
Becky, I have to say, after a few years watching your videos, I made homemade tomato sauce yesterday, and I am so happy, it was easier then I expected and it turned out so good!!! Thanks for always inspiring us ❤
I use a 16 can cooler that has a shoulder strap to pick into. It holds a ton of berries or stone fruit, and since you can put it over your head, it’s hands free. Mine was a garage sale special that I cleaned out with bleach and rinsed.
My husband and I made soap yesterday from scraps of soap bars collected in a 5 gallon bucket by grating them and boiling them down...poured into molds!...my husband said wow Ms Becky would be proud of us...we got over 50 bars of soap from that!...😉
Great job! Here's something else you can do. Drop those slivers in a 5 gallon bucket and fill halfway with water. If you have stained laundry, especially makeup and protein stains, soak them in the bucket at least several hours before laundering. No need for expensive pre-treaters. And they can soak from the time you take them off until you're ready to do laundry. No more scrambling to make a small load so it doesn't set in.
Loved the bouquet....the white flowers really set it off....mostly loved seeing the chickens...I love all animals, the black chicken was especially beautiful.
I did that this year, and it's nice! But I have a smaller garden and don't grow a full bed of anything, so it didn't help me let the garlic dry out before harvest 😅
You should use the racks you put your starters on to dry your produce just hang it in between the wires on the racks let the bulbs rest on the rack with the stalk hanging down through it
Our blueberries didn't do as well this year - probably from all the flooding here in Texas. The rest of our garden seems to be thriving and pretty much made it through, so we are thankful for that. ♥♥♥
Definitely, the larger Roanoke(?), hard neck garlic seems like a go for your garlic freezer pucks. The bigger heads, bigger cloves, and easy peel should make for less preservatuon labor.
You need a travel mug, Becky, to prevent spillage. One with a handle for easy carrying. Every drop of coffee matters! 😉 Lovely harvest. Those flowers are gorgeous!
My parents moved into a new house about 6 years ago from the house I grew up in. Im an adult & yes, for the first few years, it didn't feel like "home" anymore. But, the last couple of years it has. Dont stress over your older kids not feeling like its home. As long as you're there, it will be 😊
What a great start to the harvesting season - processing garlic is a labor of love. Hope the garlic party helps you peel again. Watching you make these beautiful flower bouquets brings me joy. I love all of your garden Wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.
Good job on selecting the different varieties of each flower. You have a knack for curating a beautiful unique palette, yet they all harmonize. Beautiful. And Fun!
Wow Becky, this is the stuff out of dreams! I've been watching you for years now and you have inspired and taught me so much despite living on the opposite side of the wold. Thank you for allowing us to learn with you
I have newly found your channel and have been binge watching all day! You seem like a such a beautiful light in this world and I have been learning so much from you! I'm pretty new to gardening and food preservation (my fourth year) so you are a wealth of knowledge. So excited to watch your journey!
I’m excited to see what you harvest out of the garden my garden still growing I’ve gotten a few things but not enough to do large batches right yet I’ve been waiting for this video!❤️💯
I’m pretty sure the first video I saw of you was you hunting around in your landscaping for something or other at your old house. I knew right away I loved your personality and determination and seeing you grow your garden to what it is is such an inspiration!
Hi, I purchased the silicone garlic peeler, it’s a game changer. Simply put the garlic clove(s) inside, roll with a bit of pressure and the skin is off. Such a time saver.
An Indian coworker/friend of mine told me that when u grow a clove of garlic from spring time, it doesn’t fractionate but they use it for the greens and she says the greens are very heart healthy. So still worth it if u miss a fall planting.
For me, Music garlic lasts just as long as my soft neck varieties. Instead of dedicating a whole bed to garlic, I line the edges of several beds with garlic. It is a great pest deterrent and I still plant the beds as I would without the garlic there. Its easy to replace them with flowers or beans when they are pulled
Another wonderful Becky video! I've been faithfully watching along since 2022 and adore you! I do miss the music you used to play when there isn't any dialogue!
I want to plant blueberries and my favorite raspberries next year. I love how yours are protected. Great idea. We have deer in our yard at times, and I know they would eat them. Thank you for all you do. You are an inspiration. ❤
I picked up 2lb pks of blueberries for $4.88 each, a good price for here. I'm having company next week, and will make a roast chicken, with veggies, like a pot roast, with pie blueberry pie for desert.
It's like watching happy deer and rabbits encountering yummy treats. Your munching is cute. Don't add music, it'll take away from the joy of simply being in the garden 🏡 🐝 🌺
Do consider a pair of ergonomic snips from the sewing world for some of your harvesting like peas, beans, and tomatoes. If you are snipping into something like an apron, the dominate hand snips, the non-dominate hand positions, and the harvet just falls into the apron.
I love these big harvest videos! Beautiful garlic 😊 And that basket of food...this is going to be a great dinner party 🎉 And I always enjoy seeing the girls. And that cute little bee let you move her to a flower...I love that ❤

That one potato in with the garlic gave me a giggle. I thought I did a good job last year cleaning out my potato beds and still had about seven volunteer potato plants this year. So relatable!! 😅😅
Becky, check out recent Hollar Homestead (Blueberry Jam) episode. Meg uses a Steam Canner which eliminates gallons of water waste & shortens time, not having to wait for water to boil. You might like to try one out. Meg states she loves this methid!!
Becky you can freeze the individual peeled cloves of garlic and use them in cooked dishes later on. Makes them easier to crush plus they still have a good strength of taste.
One clove garlic is actually very mild and it can be used in dips, in yogurt to make Tzatziki, or just chop it in fine pieces and toss it in your salad. The flavor is mild and delicious.
Please leave the sound on. You don't have to talk the whole time, but the sounds of harvesting, the breeze, the chickens, and even the gravel under your feet are soothing. I'm bed bound most of the time, so these outdoor noises make me happy. 😊

I was thinking that too!!

I agree, my favorite sounds are birds chirping in the morning and coyotes howling at night.
It was a mistake on my part that a few clips were muted..... So sorry about that. I can't change it after the fact but I will do my best to not make that mistake again :) thanks for understanding
I keep a mailbox in my garden to store scissors, snips, trowels, etc. so they are always handy. It looks cute too!
What a sweet idea!
Great idea.😅

I planted about $10 worth of garlic in my garden last fall. And I got 140 HEADS of garlic as a harvest! Thank you Becky for the suggestion
I don’t know why but listening to all the little sounds of you harvesting, is SUPER relaxing

Yes! I think of them as little tomatoes 🍅 ❤
When I pick any that are not fully purple…they will ripen at room temperature…BUT…they do not get sweet, they stay bitter…FYI
And you can separate the two by placing in a bowl of water. Ripe ones will sink. Unripe ones will float.
Yes, I put them on a cookie sheet on the kitchen counter.

That is amazing! Wow!
Becky your determination is impressive. I remember when you were just dreaming about the flowers… NOW THEY ARE HERE AND YOU DID IT! Lol.
I really like to see you feeding the chickens. Thanks for all your content, you make great videos.
So good to see others "graze" on produce as they harvest. I've always done that and my mother before me
My Dad planted garlic for many, many years. He would plant it in the fall, and once the stalks were about 4 inches high he would add the ashes from the fireplace to them and then cover with a deep bed of straw. He always got such beautiful bulbs when he harvested them.

Not only a functional garden, but visually stunning too! Thank you for the video!

Becky you can put individual shut off valves in each bed. Pretty easy to just turn the knob and it is off. Great video!!
