A few years ago I had a sister-in-law and a friend who were both getting married in the summer, about 3 weeks apart. Both were having small weddings and receptions and I offered them the flowers in my many flower beds for the tables and wherever else they wanted such as the church & end of the pews, entryway etc. My sister-in-law wrinkled her nose and said she "didn't want backyard flowers, she wanted professional ones". Due to the price she only had a few and they were mostly dyed daisy's with Babies breath and ferns for a filler. My friend accepted my offer and had plans for X amount of table displays, pews, and after seeing all the many varieties I had in bloom only purchased some little roses and greens from the florist and she and her mother created her bouquet to hold. With floral foam from the dollar store to hold them in place and ribbons for the tops of the vases they looked beautiful and matched the colors of their wedding. Sister-in-law was invited to the wedding and wanted to know where she bought her flowers and how much she paid. She was not happy about her professional flowers at all. When she was told that she bought the vases, foam and ribbons from the dollar store and all the flowers at both locations (Chaple and Reception) were from my garden she realized that snubbing her nose only hurt herself. Flowers are beautiful and bring joy to more people than just the person who grew them. Friends who see them and neighbors who drive by all enjoy them too. They bring back memories of good times from the past. Smiles are the proof. Of course the honey bees, butterflies and birds all enjoy them as well. Don't stop putting flowers into the garden along with your vegetables. They do so much good for everyone.
If anyone ever needs vases or mis matched dishes for a bridal party/ shower Facebook marketplace is always wonderful and even more affordable than a thrift store. I bet your friend’s wedding was gorgeous and a good lesson for people not to turn their noses up a nice homemade option. I always add extra flowers in just for the bees and butterflies.
Beautiful story! I have always grown tulips in my front yard. The older lady that lives across the street, would sit outside on her front porch and paint. I have 3 paintings from her. Each painting is of my tulip garden I had that particular year. She said her mother always loved tulips
Becky, I don't know if you know this or not, but at the end of tomato season, if you still have green tomatoes, you can wrap them in newspapers and store in a box with lid and they will ripen over the winter so you always have fresh ripen tomatoes 😊
It's funny, but I was never a morning person AT ALL until I stopped working. The minute I stopped setting an alarm clock, I just naturally woke up earlier. So strange since I was getting the same number of hours, but I think without the stress, I was actually getting *restful, restorative* sleep. Anyway, since then I live to wake up even earlier because there's fog many mornings and I just love going out in the yard with my dogs. They enjoy the light, misty fog, too. It's quiet and mystical - almost spiritual - and they seem to sense that. Such a beautiful way to start a day!

Becky you have the most beautiful garden! We have a very very small container garden but I managed to freeze 5-6 one gallon bags of small whole tomatoes and 6 one gallon bags of bell peppers and banana peppers. I am so proud of our bounty from our small container garden. Large or small there is always a way. I just adore your beautiful place! You work so hard and I’m so happy I found you on TH-cam.
When wheat falls as yours did, they will not stand up again. The heads are ready to cut. If you take a couple of kernels and chew, if it's sticky or chewy not ready to use, but if hard, ready to make into flour. We grew tons of wheat while I was growing up and that's how dad knew when to combine
We had a bounty of zucchini and so made up a vegetable soup with it. Leftover onions, diced tomatoes, cannellini beans, and vegetable stock, pepper flakes and I can’t remember what else and it was absolutely delicious.
Hi Becky. I'm from the UK. I only have a small garden and I grow scarlet runner beans in pots which are stood in bowls to keep them well watered. I only had 5 pots and 3 plants to a pot , with 6ft canes in a tripod shape in each pot for them to climb. They have been very productive this year and I have only ate them as fresh green beans cut into shards. I always leave a few pods to grow large for seed for the following year. I was very interested when you stated that you were letting yours grow as a dried bean. Never even gave this a thought ❤
Becky, I strongly suggest you start mulching around your plants. Use organic material, eg. straw, shredded leaves, dried grass clippings etc. As the mulch rots down, it adds to soil fertility. It also acts as a temperature and moisture moderator, as well as weed deterrent. Love your show! Blessings from Australia. 💕🙏🏾🦘🎶🦋
Becky, I think you need a little red wagon (radio flyer)to push your baskets around in ....... Your little one will probably love riding in it too when he gets a little older. 🥰
What a fantastic harvest. Becky you have a green thumb for sure . After watching your videos and watching you make bread I have successfully made bread for the first time and I have been cooking for many years. Thank you for inspiring me to bake bread and my husband and family thank you to .
Wow! What a great tomato harvest! I can also see you making so much salsa with all those tomatoes, onions & peppers! So much fun. Thanks for showing us your garden!
Harvesting so many veggies seems like so much more fun when you are surrounded by beautiful flowers! I feel like your harvest has been so beautiful and bountiful since you started growing flowers!
I recently found you and I love how you show that gardening is always about learning and experimenting. Every year is different and there is always loss but you adjust for next year or switch up what you grow. love it keep it up
Hello Becky, your garden is beautiful with glorious bounty. I like your garden much better without the black weed barrier. The beds are more fun and interesting when you show surprises planted in unexpected places. Your content is a joy. 💕
This is only your 2nd season with your new garden. Every year you will learn something new about what works and what doesn't. You have done a great job!!! It looks awesome even with a few mishaps like the storm. ❤
Amen! Always high quality production and it's Becky! Always interesting, always honest, always informative, always genuine and authentic. Such a joy to watch this beautiful young woman! ❤
Hello to you too.Its cold and grey here in the uk just like in Becky's video. I'm afraid summer never really got going here in Worcestershire uk.I hope you enjoy some warm sunshine for a little longer where you are .
@@felicitywoodruffe4087oh my. I love the name of the city where you live. It is actually beautiful here in North Carolina. The weather is where you can go outside and do things without getting soaked and wet from sweating. Take care sweet friend ❤❤❤
I like your challenge this year. It is way better than last one. It makes you eat fresh food, that is full of good stuff and make you enjoy your garden. The difference in the pumpkin beds can be in the amount of sun they get. The trees on the side can make some of them stay a little bit longer in shade. The same with tomatoes and slugs. They may have more protection and thrive in one bed and not in other. You can observe the sun and plan the garden according to it. I sometimes plant things in more shade to make some kind of succession
Becky you have so much joy in your voice, you are so proud in so happy for you. I love listening to you and watch your videos on cooking I've made so many of your recipes. Just made the funeral potatoes tonight as a side for dinner they were delicious. God bless you ❤️
I love all of the new and different varieties that you’ve planted this year❤️❤️ Those pumpkins are so fun and 🤯WOW those tomatoes. Goodness sakes they are HUGE.
I'm so glad that her stacking pumpkins are coming along beautifully! She seemed so excited about them when she planted them. I can't wait to see her decorate with them!
I'm no pumpkin expert but my gut tells me you should support that beautiful green pumpkin on the trellis. If it doesn't support itself, it will crash to the gravel walkway and could split open.
I'm in the south and canned green beans is what I grew up on. I love to can my green beans. Add some bacon grease, garlic powder, beef bouillon and black pepper. That's how I cook my green beans. Give it try
I had a hornworm in my tomatoes. It devastated my plants. They were loaded with huge beautiful tomatoes prior to the damage. I harvested all of the tomatoes including green ones. I made green tomato pizza and fried green tomatoes the rest are on my counter. Each day I get at least 1 ripe tomato. I still have about 30 green tomatoes that I will enjoy as they ripen and also make another delicious green tomato pizza yummy!
I can snell the roasted tomatoes!!!awesome tour. Watching you from seed starting to harvesting and then cooking brings me such enjoyment friend😊. Becky you and Josh have done absolutely fabulous job. The Lord provides.
Well, if you’re willing to take our advice, order a couple of sets of burner covers for the stove they are a perfect height for placing in the garden with beer poured inside. The slugs can easily get up into the beer and drown. They love the smell and I’m guessing they love the taste of beer. Our hosta plants were being eaten up by slugs in the garden at church. My husband and I placed these burner covers in the garden, filled them with beer and within one day, we had 10 to 12 to 15 slugs in each of our burner covers. It works like a charm.
Becky- your Zinnias! I could spend hours looking at them- along with the pumpkins. Congratulations on another successful year. You are a wonderful inspiration ❤
You can get slugs away from your plant by putting a little beer in the bottom of a plastic container buried at soil level so the slugs can get drunk and drown. Be sure to keep the dirt out of the beer. You only need an inch of beer. Place them in three spots in your size beds. They use this method in France.😊
From living on the West Coast, I know air flow is really important in the garden. Having enough space between plants. Checking sun direction, not having one vegetable plant shade another. It is not just soil conditions. It is also important to think about maturity size of plants so beds do not end up too full, cramped, keeping moisture in. Check wind conditions too. Where beds are in the garden impacts plants as well. End of a row or in the middle. All of that will impact your garden.
@@barbaramiller9660 I would think that because she's perfectly capable of doing it. She's wonder woman. Besides, it doesn't exactly shows her carrying them on her own, she just grabs the handles of the baskets.
I passed a sign the other day that read “just walked through a spider web and a week’s worth of cardio.” I’ve walked through 3 since! Guess I’m good for cardio for a few weeks now! 😂

My grandfather used to put up a huge garden every year. He liked archways and would grow squash and loofas. When they looked like they were going to fall he would buy knee high stockings and tie them with those. Your garden was very nice. Much love and many prayers. 💖💖
Hiya Becky, just love your content and appreciate your realness. Watching your channel is the highlight of my day when I see that notification pop up. Hope you and your family are doing well! Keep up your amazing work and thanks for sharing
Hey Becky! Nice garden harvest, wow I wish I had a green thumb to grow a garden aa beautiful as you. I have really enjoyed watching your channel. I love the meal prep, cooking, and the taste testing you and Josh do when you cook several dishes. 😊
Roasted butternut pumpkin. Cut in half seeds out scored a bit. Olive oil all over it rubbed in . Salted . Bake . Halfway thru some feta and herbs crumbled . Bake again . Yum xxx
I have been successful in eliminating hornworms and slugs in beds by using broken eggshells on top of the soil. Break them up and make sure there are lots of jagged edges. Skins of slugs and worms are ripped up by jagged shells.
My mom was raised in a wheat growing family and my dad has family that are wheat harvesters in Benton county. My Grandfather, Uncles and cousins have all told stories of it raining after the wheat has turned gold and then they couldn't harvest the wheat. Big financial loss. So from what I understand if it is green they will pop back up. But after it starts to turn colors its to late. Its a loss. I also remember as kids going out in the field and chewing on the kernels to see if it was ready to harvest as the lady told in the comment below mine. So nice to hear.
You can also Pull up entire plants that are covered with tomatoes and hang them in you garage Or downstairs (if you are worried about slug loss) you will have vine ripened tomatoes for months! I live in Colorado and one year I had tomatoes all winter!❤️
I am huge fan of your videos, maybe because i am a Stardew Valley player 😂. English is not my native language, and i can tell you, your vocabulary, you way of speaking without any "hum" "euh" "like", if i was english teacher i would show your video to the classroom. Your voice and way of speaking is so pleasant, now i watch your video with my tea in the morning 🤭
The content of your channel is very creative and practical! Your useful farming tips have significantly helped me improve the productivity of my home garden. Thank you for sharing [5:02]!
Hi Becky its been awhile since I left a comment but I wanted to say that copper tape is supposed to deter slugs and snails. Its in one of my garden books. Just putting it out there. Have a great day. Much love from Florida.
Becky thanks for all the wonderful videos - especially gardening and cooking. Great stuff! About soil health - totally agree that we should feed the soil not the plants. My opinion about landscape fabric is that it kills a lot of the microbiome in the soil. If you can, better to use leaves to cover the beds in the fall rather than landscape fabric.
Did you think about getting a little wagon to take into the garden? You can load your bowls baskets n tools then head off your the garden to harvest your treasures!! Works well for beach trips or long walks in the forest with the little guy!!
Hi Becky, an idea for the eucalyptus - you can harvest a small bunch, tie the ends and hang in the shower! Gives a lovely smell to the bathroom and all of the beneficial oils release from the steam while showering! ☺️
I really do recommend that you lay down a layer of salt at the base of all your raised beds to control your slug problem I know when it rains you will have to relay down the salt. Or you could run a couple of lengths of Copper wire along the wooden planks that are on top of your beds it will completely eliminate your slug problem and some other pests.
Hi Becky....wow....that's some tomato harvest. Just just paid $2.41 for 2 regular size tomatoes in Vancouver, BC area. I think your garden is awesome. I love the raised beds so you don't have to bend down planting and picking. And your irrigation system is such a good idea. I love how you have flowers in your beds to attract your honey bees. I truly enjoy your channel. Take care.
Becky, your garden is so beautiful. I do not have a green thumb. However, I watch you in hopes I can change that. 😊 I enjoy watching you cook as well. The flowers are amazing
In the UK here: runner beans are usually eaten as young green pods (leave them too long and they get stringy). We only leave the beans to dry on the vine to collect the seed for next year. Eating the beans as a dried pulse is a total revelation! But a quick google shows they take a lot of cooking, but have a nutty flavour. 🤯
I can't remember for sure, but I think she read about doing it and is trying it this year for the first time (leaving them to dry to eat as dried beans). I know she talked about being able to eat some fresh like green beans and leaving some to dry and use like pinto beans, but I don't know how many she ate fresh... I hope she likes them as dry beans since it seems she has so many!
My goodness you had a huge tomato harvest! I am very impressed. Can't wait till you put out the 2nd one with the ripened Roma tomatoes. Than you very much for sharing!!
I think the item ive been most invested in following and looking forward to harvest day is the pumpkin on the trellis! I’ve never seen that before and find it so exciting 😊
Hi Becky thank you for sharing with us! A tip I received about keeping slugs out of my garden was using crushed egg shells around the perimeter. They won't cross because it is sharp and they don't want to hurt themselves. Just thought since you have chickens it might be a great way to help.

I love to see how you have grown as a gardner every year. Love the flowers and veggies all together. Beautiful garden
I enjoy how your garden feeds all of the life on your homestead.
Ohh this looks like a small balcony project!!! Thanks for the tip !! Hi from Germany!!

Great idea😊
Becky, I think you need a little red wagon (radio flyer)to push your baskets around in ....... Your little one will probably love riding in it too when he gets a little older. 🥰
I can't believe it's already September harvest time! Your garden is so beautiful. ❤️
What a fantastic harvest. Becky you have a green thumb for sure . After watching your videos and watching you make bread I have successfully made bread for the first time and I have been cooking for many years. Thank you for inspiring me to bake bread and my husband and family thank you to .
She got me making bread too!
I just wanted to let you know that when I'm really missing my family and my home, your videos, without fail, cheer me up. Thank you.
Wow! What a great tomato harvest! I can also see you making so much salsa with all those tomatoes, onions & peppers! So much fun. Thanks for showing us your garden!
Love watching you harvest the bounty! I feel I'm there with you! It is so satisfying. Thanks from Nashville Tennessee.
I know this is a lot of work, but girl you make it look so easy
Am I the only one wondering when Becky will hit 1m subscribers? 🎉
No your not 😊
I’ve been wondering ever since I watched the 2nd video I saw of hers. I knew she could become a YTer with millions of subs.
Maybe we should have a viewer contest and see who can predict the date!
4 months. 100,000 per month
Share her videos and get your friends to come and subscribe to help her get there
I pray one day I will have a garden as lovely as yours! I really enjoy watching your harvest videos, amazing work! Thank you ☺️
Harvesting so many veggies seems like so much more fun when you are surrounded by beautiful flowers! I feel like your harvest has been so beautiful and bountiful since you started growing flowers!
I recently found you and I love how you show that gardening is always about learning and experimenting. Every year is different and there is always loss but you adjust for next year or switch up what you grow. love it keep it up
And you thought you wouldn't have enough tomatoes! WOW!
I love it when you have a wonderful harvest! Can't wait to watch you put it up! May God bless you always!
I spy three coffee cups in the garden. Love your videos. My three year old granddaughter and I watch your videos together.
I love Becky's videos no matter what its about you know you're always going to get a good video

Hi from a fellow North Carolinian!
Anyone else play spot the gloves and coffee cups when Becky does garden tours 😂
I am the same way with cups
I will be now. 😁
Omg, loving the fog!! Beautiful garden!!
YUM YUM YUM ! Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next. You make me feel hopeful and happy. Bless your angel heart. 🤗
That Fog is a sight. love the garden tours, knowing this us a work. Blessings to you and your family
I had to chuckle when you said "that is delicious.....my mouth is on fire". You go Girl!!! 😂😂😂
Oh Becky, you're going to need an all terrain trolley to carry all the harvest not just bowls and baskets! It all looks so great! Well done xxx❤
They have one. She's has jokingly said she's terrified of driving it down hill (the garden it's in a slope)?
Why doesn’t her hubby carry it? Or is he just the manny
@@barbaramiller9660 because she's an independent woman and can manage her own thing I suppose?
@@barbaramiller9660 I would think that because she's perfectly capable of doing it. She's wonder woman. Besides, it doesn't exactly shows her carrying them on her own, she just grabs the handles of the baskets.
I passed a sign the other day that read “just walked through a spider web and a week’s worth of cardio.” I’ve walked through 3 since! Guess I’m good for cardio for a few weeks now! 😂
More Than Farmers did a video last week, and they had the BEST hack for dry bean harvesting!
I watched that too!
So what's the hack?
@@chrisward4224 putting the dried pods in an old pillow case and lightly smacking it against something (in their case, the deck). No need for shelling!
@@TracyBirds that is a great hack, thank you!!!
Love how you see the things in nature. You're fun to watch.
Oh, how blessed you are with all those tomatoes! All I can see is when your little boy is on the moon, pulling on those tablecloths and all those tomatoes up on the floor😂😂😂
My grandfather used to put up a huge garden every year. He liked archways and would grow squash and loofas. When they looked like they were going to fall he would buy knee high stockings and tie them with those. Your garden was very nice. Much love and many prayers. 💖💖
Good evening from Scotland 🏴
Thank you for sharing your mistakes along with your successes! I learn just so much

You can also
Pull up entire plants that are covered with tomatoes and hang them in you garage Or downstairs (if you are worried about slug loss) you will have vine ripened tomatoes for months! I live in Colorado and one year I had tomatoes all winter!❤️
Big tomato processing videos are some of my favorite videos you do!
Yea, busy lady. I can't wait to see what you can next. 😊 blessings. ❤❤❤ also love seeing you harvesting different things. Yummy
Hi Becky, you must feel SO fulfilled to Harvest all the vegetables from your garden to make your delicious meals. I love your harvest content.
Don’t forget to save those floret seeds. She isn’t selling next year. I just did her free mini seed saving videos which were super helpful
You should take a picture of your little man in the pumpkin patch.
Yes, same in Australia. I’m not keen on them myself.🦘🐸
I love your interest in flowers.
A beautiful morning at Becky's house The view was fantastic
My goodness you had a huge tomato harvest! I am very impressed. Can't wait till you put out the 2nd one with the ripened Roma tomatoes. Than you very much for sharing!!
Constantly learning in the garden, what you can and can’t do, especially after a storm.
