Such great advice! I lost my mom a year ago and my dad 7 years ago. I miss them every single day and look back on the simple things we always did together. Cooking, baking, sharing a meal, lovely conversations, playful banter. We who were blessed with parents such as these are lucky to have these times to look back on!

He's the matriarch of our family now with all my cousins having lost all their parents. My sisters and I know, with heavy hearts, that our time with Mom and Daddy is limited and precious. We started recording "memory" conversations with them on our phones. When they start a sentence with the words, 'When I was.. " or "I remember..." we immediately begin filming so we can document that moment. It gives us the opportunity to both save it on our computers for the future but also write it down. This way, future generations can both see and hear their history straight from those who lived it!!! If I could share anything, write those moments down-stories, conversations, funny stories, their favorite dishes at specific restaurants, and recipes they shared or loved cooking for and with you!! There are generations that will cherish those, not to mention the treasure it will be to YOU in reliving those precious moments with them!
My mum passed away in January this year. She and I used to love gardening together. I really miss that most when I am in the garden, but I feel her close with me. Watching you garden with your parents, the banter and love, was so heart warming to watch and I felt like I was there with you. Your parents are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you.

I grew up on a farm and we always had a big garden with all kinds of vegetables. After I left for college, my mom still had a big garden and continued canning and storing things throughout her early 70s. She had a stroke last year and died just after Christmas. Watching your videos with you and your parents working in the garden and all the preservation you do reminds me so much of my mom and her gardens. The memories are bittersweet but you help me remember how much my mom did to provide for me, my brother and my dad. Thank you for that Becky. ❤️

I think if you put the dry beans in a pillow case and whack it on the ground the pods will open and the dried beans or at least most of them will be in the bottom of the pillow case. Your mother and father are the best help ever and deserve the best reward.

Planing them earlier leads to weak plants. You also might want to look at putting in a cold frame to harden your plants off.
