    Wow 10k a day! Great job! Love to know how you found doing it for 100 days? I came across your video while on day 10 of a(n attempted) 30 day run streak of 5k a day. I'm loving it so far! It's exactly like you said in the video: the fact that the run is not optional, and you can't make up for it tomorrow, makes it easier to just go. My legs are feeling great so far and mentally I feel even better. Good luck again this week!

      I will be releasing soon a video about how the 100 days went, but "spoiler alert": it was amazing 😁😊
      Obviously I agree with you, there is a secret power in run streaking: you don't need to decide whether or not you should run, you HAVE to and that makes a big difference for me 😃

      That's awesome to hear! Well done! You are right to start "small" and work you way up to the distance that you can get used to without getting injured. If you ever feel too much fatigue don't hesitate to go back to 5K 👍💪 Keep crushing it !!

      You don’t have to run every day, I think it’s smart to start with every other day like you do. You can go for a bike ride or a swim on off days, and after a while start running more often:)

      if u want to improve ur cardio and lose some weight, i suggeswt you doing ur 5k only if ur dont feel pain and u feel 90% fresh, and in the days off, u should do bikiing of workout in a gym or with push ups sits up squat ajnd things like that to really active ur heart rate, if you do this consistantly i promise u will improove extremely fast and its fun:)

    I’ve been running at least 5 miles a day for a month and I have NOT seen any progress! I wish I knew what the problem is. Before I ran on the beach 5 miles a day, some days up to 10 miles. I have had a couple days off from running but not more than one day in a row. Now I’m running on a forest trail 6.5 miles and that will be my new run.
    Why you think I haven’t lost weight like you?

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First, congratulations for running 5 miles a day for a month this is impressive! 👍💪🏆 Then, losing weight is not all about exercising, you need to take into account your diet, your sleep, hormone levels, etc... And to be fair, I am not an expert in weight loss. What the run streak will give you is the consistency to keep a habits for a long time, plus it gives you some daily energy expenditure. Have tried to experiment a little bit more with your diet? Do you do any other form of exercise?

      Thanks for sharing this here Hiren ! And that's an awesome objective!
      To be fair, if your only objective is to achieve sub 20 on 5K, a run streak isn't the fastest way to achieve it. While run streaking, since you don't recover as fast as you could when you can take a few days off, you have to pace yourself to be able to keep on going the next day. But if you are run streaking you will become much more familiar with the distance and it is likely that you time will reduce slowly every time. Starting from 32min the objective of 20min is challenging and exciting 😊👍💪 Maybe you will have to stop the run streak at some point and take some rest days to be able to push 110% on the next days, include sprints, tempo, etc...

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically, you need to be comfortable with the distance before you start the run streak. Then you need to make sure you maximize your recovery time with massages, good nutrition, and quality sleep 😊

    • @delasantos
      @delasantos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is about pacing. They say ‘running’ but I don’t think you need to ‘run’ per se. Work you way up. I also think rest days are inevitable.

    • @girlballs6834
      @girlballs6834 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lots of slow mileage, you have to gradually break your body down over time and rebuilding yourself up tougher. As a non competitive athlete i don't have to worry about racing or rest days from harder sessions, you're also able to throw in strides now and again to keep your mind and body engaged.

    how to avoid breathing problems during running activity

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much for your question, it's actually a great topic for a video!
      If you don't have asthma or allergies, then your best solution is to run slower than your current pace and practice nose breathing as much as possible. Try to run with a buddy at a very low pace on purpose and make the exercise of chatting while you run. It will force you to run slow enough that your breathing adapts. The more you practice your breathing the better it gets.

      I did incorporate some home gym training sometimes but it wasn't really organised. I was just trying to use my legs in a different way that I was using them when I run so more 'explosive' exercise like squat jump, etc... But again, it wasn't really well thought, mostly just did what felt right at the time 😃

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me it was abdominal first. Because that's where I gain fat primarly. But this is something unique to each so you migh tbe different. Running helps losing fat, but it doesn't influence the location of the weight loss in your body.

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment Bod! Several things: if you have blisters, the best solution I found is first to "stop the fire", I put my feet in a cold water basket and let them cooldown as long as possible, then I use Compeed bandage which are AMAZING at creating a second skin that will protect them, you can put those right above the blisters to protect them and then you wait until the new skin has been created natural by your feet underneath. On top of that I put lotion and my feet, massage them when I can and I also you a golf ball that I press my feet against to release some pressure on the plant of my feet to avoid plantar fasciitis. That's about everything I do for my feet 😃

      If you run on soft surface and run quite slow on most days, you might be able to avoid injury. If you only do asphalt and start running 70k’s per week, you will get injured.

    • @jeremy-bernard
      @jeremy-bernard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the surface and the quality of the shoes do have an impact. But just like everything else, you can start doing the distance you think is appropriate and then you adjust if you don't feel good after a few days 👍
