I want to flesh out my songs with chord and melody in right hand and add structure so songs don't get to repetative

Hi. Tips on playing left and right hand more independently please. Maybe adding chord inversions to the chord bible?
    Many thanks.

Hi, really liked your videos on playing by ear. It seems like most piano content on youtube doesn't really address that as much. I'm most interested in techniques on learning songs by ear and improvising over nice chord progressions or left hand bass lines. I've only been playing 1.5 years though, my main goal is combining my playing with music production on my DAW. Really don't like learning by sheet music to be honest, would you say that's a big limitation? Thanks

Sweet! What DAW do you use and how would you like to combine it through music production? Is it through coming up with your own instrumentals/melodies? I don't like learning with sheet music either as well as countless others so it's definitely not a limitation, at least on this channel anyway!

@@mozartshortcuts2631 Hey, I use Ableton Live and yea I'm pretty much trying to come up with instrumentals, melodies, cool chord progressions and that sort of stuff. I've been trying to come up with useful practice exercises that don't involve sheet music and are also useful in a music making context. Maybe a video on something like that would be pretty cool if that's something you'd be interested in making. Cheers

@@takyon24 Sounds good I'll get something up this week! Do you have any artist's specifically that influence you production wise?

@@mozartshortcuts2631 Awesome, thanks. Production wise influences out of popular artists I'd say maybe Daft Punk, The Weeknd, Grimes, Aphex Twin, Kaytranada etc.

As a total beginner what are some good resources for finding *that song* you love and want to learn to play it? Is sheet music really the right place or is music theory better to start in terms of getting to proficiency?
You mentioned trusted spruces for chords, could you share some you recommend?

Hey Hannah, it kind of depends sometimes with sheet music - some are very wired to learn from it and others are not, I would say a good place to start with learning the song you like is by looking up the chords, learning to play the basic chord progression/timing and then building from there! Download the chord guide that I made free (description) for starters and if you'd like me to make any specific video let me know, feel free to book in a call if you need to as well

Hi, is there an issue with the chord link? I can’t connect to the address. Cheers.
