Good video though.

“Power of the transmission?” What do you mean by that? The different modes affect shift speeds, etc., not power which is produced/controlled by the engine. I would think that having the suspension in track would not allow weight to transfer as well as opposed to a softer setting when drag racing. When I’m on a road course I set everything to track and then turn all of the nannies off. As to why anyone would want to use sport mode; it’s a good compromise between street/track on a daily driven car. Steering is lighter with some feedback, transmission doesn’t try to slam you into oblivion when it shifts, doesn’t stay in the lower gears as long, suspension gives a little, and you still get a good exhaust note.

I save a ton of gas in sport, just get to a coast then ease off the gas and on the highway I get like 28-30 mpg. And for roll races I fine sport to be better as well cause Track doesn’t hit 8th gear. I don’t downshift with the paddles I use the shifter then slap it back to auto and those are my best rolls hands down

Here is the part i don't understand. How are you getting spin on full sport but in custom you aren't getting that much spin and you have it on track transmission? Your break launch for all of these were 1500 RPM ?
Not sure if yours does this I have a 2021 scat pack charger. In eco mode mine starts of in 2nd gear every time. Unless you put the shifter in the manual setting. In eco mode starting in first mine will still spin the tires. I would say this is why you are not spinning when in eco mode.
that's correct it's true for the Charger and the Challenger RT Scat Pack. I just traded my 20 Charger RT for my 20 Challenger RT Scat Pack. when in eco you Do take off in 2nd, that's why it feels like a stall converter when taking off.
I feel like sport shifts faster and still got power but if track mode is where the most power is at. And track makes the transmission shifts the gears longer
The vehicle has timers in the performance pages were collection of scientific data on acceleration is possible to remove the “seat of your pants” dyno. And the drive mode can be manipulated in the custom setup of each drive mode💪🏻🇺🇸

Idk why doesnt have track unless that came later or they took it off car or something. I got track on my 23. I use sport 99 percent of time either way tho. Goes from eco street sport then track

Maybe I'm just old school, but using traction control in every instance will potentially hurt your performance. Running a "better" set of rear tires will allow you to put more of the power to the road without spinning or using traction control. When you get accustom to the way your vehicle responds to good tires, you can feather the throttle to keep from spinning. All that being said, there is a reason why they have named the different modes what they have. Yon cannot expect a daily driven road or parking lot to be well "prepped". The ONLY place you can expect a prepped surface is at the actual track...hence the "Track" mode. Not sure I see the "secret Hack" here...
The traction control restricts power to the wheels so they don't spin, so you saying it's giving you everything the car has in that mode is a misleading statement. Less TC = more power to the wheels. Just don't stomp on the pedal, ease into the throttle and eventually floor it.

You mentioned how the transmission is effected by the different modes and how the traction is effected but the electronic stability control system is also effected by changing modes. In sport mode it allows you to get crazy and do donuts etc without losing control. In track mode ESC is almost non-existent. Also, track mode has a top end mph limit and once you eclipse that speed it starts to damage the transmission. Basically there's no way you should ever be doing 130mph in track mode.

Dude u know u offer some really good info but you really don’t know about your car and what the different modes actually offer you. Sport mode is good for when you are on an open highway maybe w some winding turns and you want to have fun and enjoy the power of your car in sport mode and really take advantage of the sport mode suspension n steering. That’s what sport mode is used for. Track mode is simply used for the track and when you’re on the street and u wanna have some fun w your car. Big sport mode is for exactly what I said. If your in traffic or a light to light kinda road and you looking to save gas and just chill you should Have your car in eco mode.
I like your video, except how you HIDE the Speedometer. It would be nice to see your speed. I mean, you have nothing to worry about because you are in “Mexico”, Right ?
When you are in a Sport Mode, it disables M.D.S. If you are keeping your MDS on most of the time if not all of the time, in a long run, after 70K - 100K+ ( that's when people start noticing problems with their engine) one sometimes all 4 variable MDS lifters collapse and because of that, they are shaving off cam lobes that are underneath those 4 MDS lifters. I think Dodge knew that people would want to have an option where they can turn M.D.S. off, so they kind of gave it to the people in a weird way.
@@lonzobee M.D.S. stands for Multi-Displacement System, it disables 4 cylinders, so you can get a slightly higher gas mileage. The problem with M.D.S. is that this system tends to fail, like a lot. It is a well known and extremely costly problem in dodge vehicles and it has been like that for almost a decade. I'm not going to go all engineering here why it happens and what it does to the engine, but if you thinking about getting yourself a Dodge product and keeping it for many years to come, find a way to disable it and keep it disabled the second you get yourself a dodge vehicle.
@@blakesperfslage6072 I don't have a scat, but I have worked as a mechanic for many years. In a long run your engine will thank you for taking care of it (driving on all 8 cylinders all the time). As it goes for your transmission, sure your shift points will be slightly rougher, but your transmission (ZF 8HP70) can take it. ZF 8HP70 transmission is incredibly reliable and strong, that is why it is used in many other cars like Alfa Romeo, Alpina, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge of course and many other well known car brands.
You always have full power in any mode. When you are in Eco mode and you press the throttle pedal down it will give you the same amount of power as any other mode, it just shifts out of 4cyl into 8cyl. I have an 18 as well and you're going to need that bypass wire as well.
None
Where did u get ur wickerbill ?
I have a 2018 srt 392 scat pak and I can’t find drive mode on mines?
if you have a SRT 392 you should haves “SRT” button , that’s what i have in mines . and just a heads up our cars aren’t scats , we’re SRT 392s
So track everything but sport traction. Saved everyone else time.
do you know if i can put my 19 rt in eco mode?
Sport is for crowded areas. Especially if you live in ny
2019 has that as well, but youyou can’t customize your rpm setting like the 2020 and up. I customize mines bc I hate track steering, it’s too stiff.
Do what? You're not ever going to do any donuts with just changing the modes
@@problemchild778 My statement was "Do donuts etc WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL"
I didn't say that you can't do donuts in the other modes. READING IS FUNDAMENTAL.
@@GoGoOpie reading is fundamental you're absolutely correct so I'm not sure if you read what moparmade posted but like 1% of any of that is correct bc it doesn't matter what mode you're in you'll be on a rocking horse you're gonna hate if it's not completely unlocked
You do know the naturally aspirated 6.4l v8 or 392 is capable of a top speed of 180 if you have a straight away long enough there is no way you should cap at 130 track mode period you should be able to push it in track mode and be fine over 130 they’re legit built for the track
Also to add the transmission power out put never changes it has adaptive gear changing meaning it changes the speed your trans shifts and rpms it shifts at this was the dumbest comment I read today
In track mode you don’t even get 485 horses most of the time the transmission shifts to quick
Where is the setting for suspension I don’t see it on my scat?
Dude u know u offer some really good info but you really don’t know about your car and what the different modes actually offer you. Sport mode is good for when you are on an open highway maybe w some winding turns and you want to have fun and enjoy the power of your car in sport mode and really take advantage of the sport mode suspension n steering. That’s what sport mode is used for. Track mode is simply used for the track and when you’re on the street and u wanna have some fun w your car. Big sport mode is for exactly what I said. If your in traffic or a light to light kinda road and you looking to save gas and just chill you should
Have your car in eco mode.
Your going to spin in track mode if you don’t turn on traction control bro, you aren’t considering that it’s two off modes for traction Control
Good video....but maybe you should add another vehicle to your channel...392 content is getting old
Turning the heat on….. 😅
I dont have suspension on my srt dashboard and I have a 2021 y is that?
Same.. its weird
That's a green fuel drop, similar to a teardrop.
Sport for me keeps the car from jumping at the light when it turn green 😂
The custom mode will not give you max power with a redeye because it will not turn on the engine chiller
sport mode is best for burnouts and doubts
U don't have to press you see that apps u can go there
Only use track mode at the track on the street is too aggressive. I use sports mode a lot pretty good on the street special with my bola exhaust
I like your video, except how you HIDE the Speedometer.
It would be nice to see your speed.
I mean, you have nothing to worry about because you are in “Mexico”,
Right ?
I've tried it in my f8 widebody scat
When you are in a Sport Mode, it disables M.D.S. If you are keeping your MDS on most of the time if not all of the time, in a long run, after 70K - 100K+ ( that's when people start noticing problems with their engine) one sometimes all 4 variable MDS lifters collapse and because of that, they are shaving off cam lobes that are underneath those 4 MDS lifters. I think Dodge knew that people would want to have an option where they can turn M.D.S. off, so they kind of gave it to the people in a weird way.
What is mds
@@lonzobee M.D.S. stands for Multi-Displacement System, it disables 4 cylinders, so you can get a slightly higher gas mileage. The problem with M.D.S. is that this system tends to fail, like a lot. It is a well known and extremely costly problem in dodge vehicles and it has been like that for almost a decade. I'm not going to go all engineering here why it happens and what it does to the engine, but if you thinking about getting yourself a Dodge product and keeping it for many years to come, find a way to disable it and keep it disabled the second you get yourself a dodge vehicle.
@@theoneandonly1802 so you would recommend driving in sport mode most of the time? Better on the tranny and just engine overall? You have a scat?
@@theoneandonly1802 awesome thanks for all the info. Sounds like sport or just regular auto are the way to go👍
mine burns the tires off in eco mode
You always have full power in any mode. When you are in Eco mode and you press the throttle pedal down it will give you the same amount of power as any other mode, it just shifts out of 4cyl into 8cyl. I don't think you quite understand what you are trying to preach to everyone else. Best thing and advice is to read the owner's manual and watch many videos to give you the best variety of information. And your car will not spin on the highway at 70mph. This car ain't that bad bro. So much misinformation...
I don't see them settings I think that is a automatic thing I'm a manual
My 2019 has all 4 settings
