@@洪瑞-b2g, you think? I hope so, but I personally have never seen any developers updating the existing add-ons for the games. Again, hopefully I'm wrong.
tell me about it, i searched the ost 3 times to find this track. first the crap with the delay of the CE, then the no preload and when i tried the to load the game at launch time nothing. could only start the download 2 hours later and still the fact that this song is not in the ost biggest letdown for me with HW3
ok raise your hand and be honest - who else panicked when they started playing this in that late game mission because they had HW1 flashbacks and were certain disaster was about to strike *raises hand*
@@Septimus3144, well, fair enough. About remastering, what if I tell you it's not about if it can be remastered, but if the devs really wanted it? Yes, that's right. No "lost source code" or any other bullshit they may have stated as a reason for not remastering it - simply a lack of desire and willingness to do it.
@FilipRanogajec Well that's some impressive Tinfoil-Hat Fu there. If they didn't care about Cataclysm they wouldn't have had Somtaaw and the Beast Slayer symbol all over HW3 and its advertising. Getting the original HW1 and 2 remastered was already enough of an ordeal for them even with the HW2 source engine on hand, and remaking Cataclysm within a different engine would be an even bigger one with all its unique mechanics. And on the most cynical capitalist level, people like Cataclysm and that makes it profitable, so why not remaster it with the others if they could? Perhaps HW3's more advanced engine will be more sufficient for them to rebuild Cataclysm from the ground up.
This sits neatly in the theme of what Homeworld 3 is, that deep loneliness of the unknown, trying desperately to find those who were lost, with the chorals of what represents our main character, her counterpart, and the woman they seek. The haunting call and answer of the old navigator and the one gone rogue, with the new energy of the new navigator brought in with the key change. This speaks to the story very well.
Congratulations, lady Somtaaw! I wanted to save this so hard, but it wasn't included in the Soundtrack I paid for. Such a shame on Gearbox's behalf, and not the only one, sadly. Thank you. 😊
This makes me feel the same i think about the rest of the game, digesting the past to produce the entertainment of tomorrow, it desperatly wants to call back to the past because it doesnt not know what it wants to do, its same thing with the star wars sequels, so now we are stuck with new releases making references to beloved games, because honestly, they dont know what they are doing.
I love this version so much. Because the choir and harmony was always amaziny, but it was the haunting melody that stuck with me forever and became one of my favorite the first time I played homeworld when I was a kid. This version focuses on that, and it's what I kinda always wished it was.
Absolutely. It's honestly sad thinking of the journey this series took only to end up being brought down with mismanagement and cutthroat corporate interests. Especially after DoK was made by BBI and Gearbox and was at the very least step in the right direction for a new series. How they went from that to this makes me feel saddened a bit of "the subject didn't survive interrogation."
They just should have made the queen an exile as well, kind of like those guys in the nebula from HW1. She weaponized hyperspace and used her anger at what had been done to rule. Now she sees her former people as weak and need to be conquered. Or do something with the projenators. Don't just be oh she's evil because.
I like sci fi alot. Halo. Starwars. Startrek. Bsg. Stargate. Homeworld.. it seems bigger than anything i can imagine. It's just something i can't put into words.. though i may be overthinking the whole setting.
Why was this track not released outside of the game???? was it a copyright issue? BBI created a 20 minute long video documentary of the work they were putting into this track for Homeworld 3!! WHERE IS IT?????????
Presumably, it'd be the same licensing and copyright issues the first Homeworld had with Agnus Dei, but considering this track is so distinct from either Agnus Dei or the original composition of Adagio for Strings I couldn't really say for certain. Were that even the case, one would think they'd have released it under a different name, similar to how Homeworld Classic's OST was packaged. Something we'll just have to wait and see if BBI ever explains.
@@SomtaawGirlsMakeDo, I think that's probably never going to happen. Such - in their eyes - petty details are usually left out and get forgotten with time. At least that's my experience with game developers. I leave room for doubt.
The biggest crime of Homeworld 3 is they never officially released this track, thank you.
Agreed.
May be released as a DLC.

This soundtrack makes me remember how the "Khar-Kushan" finds the "Khar-Sajuuk" trapped in an iceberg
It also plays in the very first cutscene at the beginning of the campaign and when the Khar-Sajuuk is freed from the ice. Beautiful.
