Thanks again for watching our video this week! Does anyone out there watching have experience owning a houseboat slip and can share more about that experience? Specifically, do you see any major pros or cons of owning a slip instead of just renting? Would love to learn more from you experienced houseboaters in the comments.

That's awesome you're at Aqualand!! We've heard good things about that marina. We really love Lanier, too. So much to explore all the time, and a great community of people. Thanks for watching, and glad to have you here at our channel!

All slips in my area are sold out with 2 year waiting list. So, I just drop boat in and take out daily. Little pricey but worth the fun. :)

Hey Ben! Thank you for watching and always taking the time to comment. That’s really interesting all the slips are sold out…and the waitlists are that long (wow 😧!). Good call on taking the boat in and out daily to get more enjoyment out of boat ownership!!

@@DeepHouseboatLife anywhere where there's not alligators and the community is nice. I watched the video on like Lanier I found out there's a city and a graveyard in there that locals blame on the 600 plus people who have died on that Lake some of what you they have never found kind of spooky I wouldn't put anything past our government

@@christinejohnson7304 Lake Lanier is great so far for us - generally nice people and no alligators. And there is definitely some spooky legends about the lake!

At lake Shelbyville in IL, the only option is to lease a slip. Only thing is the three marinas are all booked up so you would have to wait to get a new slip if you wanted one. I've heard of people owning slips in Florida and it costing quite a bit. I guess everything in Florida is expensive though. Anyway I'm glad the warm weather is finally here! 🍺

Thank you for watching and commenting! Sounds like Lake Shelbyville is really popular. I imagine people would likely want to get a slip first and then a boat on that lake. We have also heard that slips in Florida can be really pricey, too. So glad warm weather is here, and have a great start to the spring/summer season!!

Hey guys, hope you are all well. Looks like you're all getting ready for a whole lot of houseboating ! I had a look on maps of lake Lanier, beautiful! So many little islands to explore and it looks like you can go on for miles!. Have you navigated the whole place yet? Love the restaurants there too, the pig tails looks awesome 🍖 have an awesome weekend guys and can't wait for the next episode. Stay safe guys!🙏

Hey Carlton! Thank you for watching and it’s always great to hear from you. We are ready for houseboat season to start. Lake Lanier is really big and there are so many places to spend the day or weekend! We haven’t navigated the whole lake yet, and that makes looking for a new beach/island a lot of fun. It’s like finding something new every time we leave the dock. The restaurants are a lot of fun on the water, and we also haven’t tried all of them either. Have a great weekend and enjoy some time out on the water with your family!
