😂 I just want to thank you for the balanced and very helpful e-collar instruction videos. Theres no problem with long videos. Training a dog is not a short endeavor and if someone wants short instruction they are probably not going to take the necessary time to train their dog properly. So, ignore those comments. I believe with training dogs there are no shortcuts. Our Boxer passed from old age about 5 years ago and 2 wks ago I was finally able to adopted another; a 2.5 yr old Boxer rescue. Now that he's somewhat settled in to our household I am ready to begin some serious obedience training. He's very intelligent and I can tell he's had some previous basic training. Although, as a Boxer he does have that generally stubborn nature, he does seem very eager to please. He's a very strong, muscular dog and very excitable around other dogs, people etc... I've been utilizing marks & treats with remarkable results, but I know if I want him to travel with me and take relaxing walks he needs some more serious training. While training, I try to hide the reward treats from him but it seems he's often very focused on the treat, instead of me; sometimes baIking at my request if he thinks Imight not have a treat for him. (I do intermittanIy not offer a treat to help him associate how he pleased me and to gently move him into not always expecting a treat. I get his e-collar in about a week. Luckily I believe I have the time and temperament necessary to research and provide balanced training for him. Do you have any suggestions to help him not focus so much on the treat? Thanks, Wannetta
I was completely against E-collars until watching your video yesterday. I’m a force-free trainer and still am, but I’m beginning to learn how to train this tool to establish better communication. With the way you use it, it doesn’t seem to cause pain, and I’m now beginning to train with it on my own dogs.
I've watched alot of your videos and you do a great job but these two plus the one you did with Sophia and the candy were the BEST videos for me on using the e collar. I was against the ecollar until watching your and canine educator s videos The line you used in this video "died the dog perceive to be off leash" was super Thanks for the videos
I watch every one of your videos to the end. It’s our loss if we don’t, because there is so much great content every minute. Thanks for all you give us!
I have a two 1/2 year old Anatolian Shepard that we just completed 20 weeks of basic and novice obedience training with and she is doing great on a leash. I have hired a private trainer for off leash training for the next 8 weeks. I am thankful for your videos, because it solidifies that I have the right trainer for my Lola. With your help I can cross reference what I am being taught. Just ordered your book. Looking forward to reading it.
Thanks so much for excellent information. It’s my first time with an e collar and I’m taking my time learning about it before I start to work with my dog. I like your presentation and I look forward to getting good results. I didn’t think the hour long video was too long! I was busy making notes!
You know what’s interesting, my dog doesn’t need the collar most times, all I do is put on the controller around my neck. He learned real quick, he went to boot camp pro training for 2 weeks. Every day, 2 years we use the leash even tho he heels without it. He never lets me get out of his sight and will never run away from me. He is crate trained and it took a week to house train him. A guy in the neighborhood bought the same breed (a Dalmatian) and it is a wild, leash pulling, stubborn puppy/dog. My dog is not allowed to approach other dogs, he knows not to be distracted by cats, squirrels etc. That professional training was worth every cent.
Hey Larry love your content. Any chance you can edit the description and put linksnor at least the names of your suggested readings. You have been my inspiration to get an e collar. In fact im getting the one you use in you videos. The mini educator.
Thanks for all that you do for dogs and dog owners. We have learned a ton from your videos and look forward to seeing many more in the months and years to come. You are an awesome person and I love how you advocate for the dogs. You no doubt have saved many dogs lives. Cheers from Vancouver Canada. PS I watched your videos twice over and still refer back to them.
I made my decision to buy the Educator e-collar. I was wainting to find the right e-collar and I was reluctant to use a e-collar but with a GSP it is a must! I can't wait to start training with your book!
I was so upset a couple nights ago at my 1 year old regressing and starting to chew things up again that he knows not to, dusted off a garmin i had around which i never used to 'teach' him to not do that. So glad i decided to watch these two videos before making that mistake. Thank you sir.
Hi Larry! Thanks for your dedication over the years. Your integrity, loyalty, excitement and results speak for them self. You are amazing at what you do and im grateful we have warriors like you who aren't phased by dog behavior and see through it knowing with proper trust/safety/accountability and communication WE CAN make a difference in a dogs, owners and families life!...You think outside the box and aren't scared away from others beliefs/social outdated misinformation and norms, etc.....rather...you prefer results, proper results with fair and appropriate tools depending on each individual dogs needs. You have allowed me and many other trainers to be more effective, thus, educating many former haters into realizing having the proper tool for a dog is just as important as us humans, having the proper tool for a job....like a can opener, a screwdriver, a compressor and impact gun....new tools are scary and can be dangerous but once we understand them, research them and use them.....its incredible what we can "build"!! Keep on keeping on! F the haters, we should have a play date with our dogs and make some bets!!! haha.
Great content!! I've watch quiet a few of your videos, but was never too sure about the initial conditioning. Thanks for explaining it so clearly on this video. Stimulation ON>>Command>>Stimulation OFF as soon as the expected behavior is performed >> followed by the marker >> reward.
Thanks for the info Larry I did in fact watch every minute of your last video and intend to do so on this one. I have been training my own GSD pup in obedience and protection since he was seven weeks old and thankfully looking back i realize I had learned good lessons from has at shield canine and Michael Ellis about building a dog up correctly! My dog is now a hearty 80 lbs. 10-month-old that is obedient, happy and seeking to work with great engagement. I appreciate what you do. Keep up the good work. Stay safe
Just bought your book. Can't wait to read it. Enjoyed your videos. Never needed an e collar in the past but my 2yr old pointador is so prey driven that I become irrelevant so hoping e collar training will support recall training and I will be able to phase it out but have it as backup just in case.
Videos are NOT boring at all!!! Keep them coming!! During the shutdown here in NH I was able to...catch up a bit...and my 3 year old corgi (we have only had him about a year) has made leaps and bounds using what I have learned from you. AND I HAVEN'T EVEN ADDED THE COLLAR YET :) guess I need to get the wing contacts. My goal is to have him riding out with me and my horses. We shall see how it goes. But now I have hope
Thank YOU!!! I really appreciate the CCs Larry. I hate being so lame but will listen very carefully to you so I (hopefully) will not go into this BLIND. I have my 2-3 yr old GSD enrolled with OffLeash here, and am doing a 7 week obedience/aggression program. You ROCK sir. Wish you were closer to me so I could really benefit from your expertise. Thank you AGAIN‼️❤️
Another great, informative video! The detailed information about corrections vs punishment made everything clearer. I’ve been working in the intermediate level with my 1yr old ACD for over four months. He is quite literate with the ecollar. I just started using it for punishment a few times for three things; -Ignoring the stim when there was something more exciting. I don’t think he’s made that decision since. -Being leash reactive to a passing dog. Huge improvement now. But the last thing I used the boost for has not really worked. -Ever since he was a little pup he has barked like crazy at the neighbors when they come out of their house, or anyone passing by. After hearing you say that it has to be a strong enough correction I must not have it up high enough because his reaction was to back away, eyes big, and continue growing. This has been the worst problem with this pup. He is very friendly with people and at day care they like to use him to play with the young dogs. He’s quite submissive really. His territorial instincts are just very strong. Boost is on twenty more than his low number of nine. Actually I have it on 32. I had the idea that that should work. From what you said, I should raise that, right? I just want to be fair to my dog. Please advise me! To solve this problem would make our lives so much better! I bet others would like to hear your opinion on this. Thanks!!!
Great vids Larry. Thanks for your time. 2yr English Pointer - Loves to run straight to our dam when off-lead, or chase kangaroo & livestock. Hoping ecollar will fix this behaviour.... Not purchased collar yet. Thanks 🇦🇺
-Is this Larry Krohn you keep talking about, that good? Is he the best dog trainer? -I don't know if he is the best dog trainer, but surely he is the best in training dog owners...❤
Hey Larry. Can you use the e collar the same way as using it for the “out” as well as for the “leave it” we have lots of. Venomous snakes (black mamba, cobra etc) here in South Africa and I don’t want my dog to try attack one as she might get hurt.
Question - Are there types of behaviors or personalities on dogs that maybe we shouldn't use an e collar for? Next- I completely understand the conditioning phase to teach the dog the language for obedience later on BUT when someone is trying to stop problem behaviors is that phase still as crucial? Do we need to go through complete conditioning of the collar and language if it's being used to stop unwanted behaviors? Just curious and trying to learn everything I possibly can to use an e collar and to train effective obedience and speciality working stuff (rodent control- scent work- herding- livestock guardian- etc) thanks so much for the help and all the content. Is your book possibly available in a PDF format for a cheaper price? I'm a single mother to a special needs child and on a very limited income 🌷
Would be great to add a bit of your video to backup what u say.. easy reference for people who haven't seen your videos or don't know where to find the one you referring to.. or say refer to clip 1 when talking and gave the link to the video.. lots of work for you (sorry) but will be totally valuable to people watching.. What u think??
Fantastic videos Larry. I have just ordered your book from Amazon and am going to be going through the basics of e-collar training for the first time with my very difficult border collie. As you have pointed out, I will need to get him conversant with the tool before dealing with some of the serious behaviour issues we have. Any advice you can give on how to prevent and change aggression towards us in the house using the tool would be well appreciated. Take care.
When you do the live (if you haven’t already), can you please talk about how to correct a dog who is too interested in other dogs? My pup thinks all other dogs are playmates & tries to get their attention when she sees them. I Messaged you on Instagram about this too & I said over there that I was hesitant to use the ecollar to correct that because I didn’t want her to become reactive (like aggressive) to dogs because she thinks they caused that stim correction. We have the micro educator, she understands that i tap for her to come to me & we mainly use it for that. I have used it to correct a few things that she already knew, I considered this “fine tuning” behaviors. I don’t want to mess my pup up by making her fearful BUT this “I need to play with all of the dogs” attitude needs to stop. She is 18 months old, still a baby in my eyes but she needs to be corrected correctly. Thanks for making these videos! BTW I sat through the 1hour one before this too 😁 I think it’s interesting info so that was actually nice!
Enjoyed both 1and 2 a great deal..... And thankyou for exposing us to other resources like Ivan Balabanov and Monks of Skete (Marc Goldberg) on e collar training. I am sure karma is observing 😉😉
Just started conditioning my dog to the e collar today. Thanks for putting these up! Great timing lol. We did 3 short sessions. Just finished the third session and she seems to be getting it (that the feeling is coming from me) and was really enthusiastic about training this last session. Im still learning too and was a little unsure if she was feeling it at first, but now i know she is. Also, could you link some of the other trainers you mentioned? Couldnt quite catch the last one (25:45)
Hi Larry. I hope you are well. First of all amazing training videos you have i have learnt a lot from them and my dogs recall is now just absolutely amazing! I just have one question though. Like i said my dog comes to me instantly when he senses the stimulation. However i need to fly out somewhere in a months time so i want my wife to be using it while im gone. The problem is though we tried it at the park today and whenever she’d trigger the stim and call out ‘come’ the dog would still come to me instead. Is there a way we could train him to learn that whoever says ‘come’ is the one triggering the stim and that he goes to that person? Thanks so much for all your help!
I can ask my newly adopted 2 year old Aussie to do anything I want inside the house. But outside the house she is crazy. I have a highway on one side and a road with no sidewalk on the other side that has motorcycles, bicycles, other dogs, joggers, ... She simply will not look at me at all when she is outside. Instead she is constantly looking around to see whether there is any moving objects or she will follow the noise of trucks, cars, motorcycles, ... I don't believe an e collar will change anything. Her favorite toy bone is more effective than the prong collar. She will focus 100% on the toy bone and the throwing game and disregard any distraction. I just need time to expose my totally untrained adult dog to her permanent environment. I can't help her. She has to get used to it. I will let her pull when her prong collar is on. But I will not let it loose. It is what it is. If she can't learn it in a month. She will learn it in a year. But I will be patient and keep letting her to learn it by herself by exposing her to her permanent environment.
On average how many hours would you recommend for the initial basic training of the e-collar, intermediate training and full of leash training as well as somethings to look got prior to moving on too the next training type ? Great videos btw
Hi Larry, same concept you would correct counter surfing, can I use the eCollar on my 14 month GSD who jumps up at my window sill and goes crazy when a dog walks by our house? He's dog reactive but I've been successful outside on leash with him focused on me and learning to be neutral.

The first 2 are Ivan Balabanov
Dave Kroyer. Dave is the one with the subscription service. I can’t figure out the name of the third trainer.
To the early squad! Love y’all guys!

Great stuff! But the commercials are over the top! I hope youtube realizes they’re chasing people away.
Great Video, where is the best place to get a training e-collar that you use?
Great content !
Great vid yesterday. the whole thing :)
10:07 Has anyone found the luca video with the electrical box?
And I wonder how high the number for the correction? Are we talking like a 20 or 40. Would be nice to know for training purposes.
Great two videos Thank you, yet again. ✌️

Hey Larry i live in miami is there you know that i can work whit me and my dog
Thank you🌹🌹🌹🌹 Sir🙏🙏👍👍 💕💕💕
Hi Larry, same concept you would correct counter surfing, can I use the eCollar on my 14 month GSD who jumps up at my window sill and goes crazy when a dog walks by our house? He's dog reactive but I've been successful outside on leash with him focused on me and learning to be neutral.
Hi Larry, love your vids.....is there a spot on the neck better than others for the collar to be in contact? I've seen a few vids with the stem box in different areas on the neck. I bought the Dogtra 1900s? cheers
Ive heard him say before to put it right by the dogs ear
@@MiracleTurtle Yeah.......below either ear (the side of the neck, tight)....NOT the back/front but SIDES, big muscle mass, you can feel them in a well shaped dog!!
Larry, what is the out command?

How can I stop my 4 yr old cocapow from barking when the doorbell rings?
He's such a happy guy. This is the only thing that drives me crazy. And he a velcro dog.
Thank you
Rodger that
I 😍 love
Teaching the out: you only have 15 seconds or whatever, until the dog beats the ecollar. Prob sounds easier in theory.
