Japan regret stealing Indian order from China, It took 5 years only to complete 10 kilometers

  • On September 14, 2017, in Gujarat, the hometown of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Modi joined hands in a project costing 14.7 billion U.S. dollars and a total length of 505 kilometers. The construction of the Mumbai- Ahmedabad Railway has laid the cornerstone for a grand groundbreaking ceremony. In the eyes of the Indian and Japanese media, this not only symbolizes that the cooperation between the "two largest democracies in Asia" has reached an unprecedented level. At the same time, this means that Japan's high-speed rail has defeated its strong competitor, China, and has taken the lead in the fierce competition for high-speed rail in Asia.
However, more than five years later, this high-speed rail project, which the Japanese placed high expectations for, has become the first unfinished case in the history of Japan’s high-speed rail. To some extent, thanks to Japan snatching this project from China, China was prevented from falling into the trap of India's high-speed rail. So, why did Indonesia choose China instead of Japan? What is the progress of the hyperloop network that China will build to connect the entire ASEAN? OK, that and more is exactly what we are going to talk about. Let’s get started!

If I were the Chinese government, I would rather let Japan to build a high speed railway in Philippines. There is not profitable to build a high speed railway in Philippines, just waste of fund, letting Japanese to build is the best option. Philippines is an islands country with frequent typhoon and earthquake which doesn't connect to Southeast Asia continent. Building a high speed railway from Kunming to Singapore, even connect to Java Island is more meaningful to geopolitical and economy benefits.

But I'm pretty sure if we took the Japanese offers, it could met the same fate as India and maybe it will be same as expensive as China right now. You can google it. Here are accurate DATA
Indonesia's total area covering the bullet train is 142.3 kilometres (88.4 mi) and expecting to start operating on August 18, 2023
      Time taken : 8 years since 2015
In September 2015, when Jokowi’s administration awarded the contract for the project, it was initially slated to be completed by 2019, at a cost of $5.5 billion. That has since blown out due to mostly predictable factors due to complications in land acquisition. There have also been concerns about how long it will take for the project to turn into profit.
Chinese government has insisted on keeping the interest rate for the project loan at 3.4 percent, despite an Indonesian request to lower it to 2 percent.
And India hosted G20 in grand manar and there's still no sign of the bullet train in Indonesia.
      India :
Where are India's total areas covering with bullets 508+ km.
Where 22km will pass under sea, 8 bridges, 13 stations.
Almost 4.5 times so obviously it'll take more time.
140 km project has been completed. It means 25% of the project has been completed.
Where the construction of all 13 stations is in progress, and bridges on all 8 rivers are also in the advanced stage. India target to run India's first bullet is by August 2026.

It is a project that has been delayed many years and cast a long shadow of incompetence. Whatever the reason was Japan should regret that India has chosen her to build the high speed railways. In business, when a company bids high, it shows that the company has no intention of winning the contract. Likewise, China's bidding was higher than Japan in India, it bid for formality sake while elsewhere, in order to compete, they had bid lower and the promise of transfering the technology. Perhaps China knew something that the Japanese were unaware of. Its a good lesson for all international investors for case studies for investment in India.

Indonesia was considered the backwater of ASEANS but today they overtook Malaysia which was once considered as the Tiger of Asia.

      False news with false data.

Sometimes, losing a bid is like winning the lottery. China lost the India high speed rail bid to Japan. Now, Japan is stuck having to deal with India’s vast bureaucracy, corruption, and shenanigans. Given the slow progress of Japan’s construction of India’s high speed retail -5 years to build just 10km- Japan won’t be able to complete the entire 508 km project by the revised date 2028. In fact there’s a good chance the Japanese rail contractor will be insolvent before 2028 given the current cash burn rate. In that case, India will be wearing a heavy yolk around its neck.

It was actually land clearance issue, that lead to delay by 2-3 years. Due to change in the govt in Maharashtra state they kept it on hold when the govt was collapsed & newly formed govt came into power they first resolved all the pending projects & gave the clearance required for this project. The previous govt didn't start the Mumbai metro shed work even though the MMRCA gave a report on why it's necessary for the new Mumbai metro route, but pro environmentalist did the drama & stuffs don't cut trees, etc & did all the drama. It was really funny to see the environment minister of the state who was doing protest with the pro environment lobby but he submitted the proposal for building new metro shed he had signed on it. & Another thing was the 'save aarey' protesters office was in the same forest spread over around 20 acres of land & that was built on govt's land. Yet they went to the High court but they didn't win, but that time they had the govt's support because it was the same govt who started that protest while being in power but after some months that small party all of sudden makes the govt. The party who got 105 seats which was equal to the total opposition 's seats but couldn't form the govt & who got just 56 seats makes the govt because it breaks their own alliance & merge otherwise they could have formed the government easily. After 2.5 years of serving their 53 out of 56 members left the party & joined to their previous party & lost their party symbol too😂. So india has some judicial problems it's very slow. Unlike china where people doesn't have rights to ask the government, they can't sit for the protest, if they do so they gets put in jail

Other Shinkansen accidents are numerous, even up to thousands of small and medium accidents. There are hundreds of accidents a year, mainly derailment, crash and parts falling off and broken. Is this the safest Japanese technology you've ever boasted? To those who know, Japan's lies and propaganda are laughably bad

When China lost the high speed rail contract in India to Japan, I cheered for China. As a previous and experienced investor to India, India is a notorious investor's trap. An investor along with their capital will be trapped in India for many many years without any progress in actual physical sight. We were trapped in India for 8 years and the factory building is not even allowed to be built yet. You see, India have a massive beuraucratic protocol/obstacle which is almost impossible to overcome in a short period. Yes, you'll be very happy when you got the initial approval to invest,..... the crying starts when you are in the implementation process. We cut our losses and just left India like many other investors before us. India is the record holder for cancellations of previously confirmed FDI by the investors themselves... even Tesla withdraw their investments in India.

In 2017, the first line of high-speed rail built by Japan for the United Kingdom suffered a technical failure on the first day it opened to traffic.the air conditioner was dewy, and the entire carriage became a water curtain hole, and the operation was suspended for 41 minutes. But the bad thing is not only that. Last year, a large number of cracks appeared in this batch of high-speed trains exported to the UK. The longest crack was 1.5 cm, and the number of trains involved was as high as 1,000, which was forced to be shut down in a large area. When someone asked why the UK did not choose China's high-speed rail, the British politician's answer was that "buying high-speed rail from China" might offend a "important ally" of the UK. As we all know, Britain's "important ally" is the United States.
Ironically, when the United Kingdom gave up the choice of Chinese high-speed rail under pressure from the United States, the Chinese subway trains used on the Orange Line of the Boston subway in the United States were rolling off the assembly line and preparing for commercial operation; American railroad officials happily joined senior CRRC officials for Boston Metro Orange Line Ribbon Cutting . . .
The high-speed railway built by Japan for India has only built 10KM in 5 years, and the cost has not only doubled, but the opening time has been continuously delayed. However, due to the current progress and the problems encountered, many people doubt that it will not be able to open to traffic at all in 2028. In the same five years, China built the 1035KM China-Laos high-speed railway line and opened it to traffic. The China-Laos railway has high mountains and deep valleys and complex geology, which is called a "miracle of mountains and rivers" by the industry. There are 301 bridges on the entire China-Laos Railway, and the new tunnels and bridges are 712 kilometers long. If this line is handed over to Japan to build and can be built within 30 years, it will be enough to make Japan proud to call it a Japanese miracle. This is not surprising. It took Japan 10 years to build a 19KM subway for Vietnam.
In short, if China claims to be the second in the world in terms of infrastructure construction, then no country in the world can claim to be the first.

The reason why we changed the French proposal to just a proposal was because the French proposal was to use regular railway lines in cities, whereas Japan proposed a highly safe idea of creating a simple dedicated railway line. The Japanese plan was adopted because there are many train accidents in India. There was no China plan from the beginning.

Here was Japan rail cars derailed and 60% out of service in Washington DC
      Report from New York Time
      By Neil Vigdor
      Oct. 18, 2021
The Metro system in Washington pulled more than half of its subway cars from service before the Monday morning commute as federal investigators scrutinized a surge in train-alignment “failures” and the derailment of one train at least three times in a single day last week, officials said.
The removal of about 60 percent of the system’s cars prompted service reductions that paralyzed commuters across the capital region on Monday, forcing them to take buses, work from home or endure long waits for what many riders described on social media as overcrowded trains.
It was the latest setback for one of the nation’s busiest rail transit systems, one that has been trying to build back ridership that had fallen off during the coronavirus pandemic. The service disruptions came one day after an independent safety commission ordered the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to pull from service all 748 subway cars in its 7000-series fleet, which are manufactured by Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc.
