  • On September 7th, the Jakarta to Bandung high-speed railway, a collaborative effort between China and Indonesia, commenced its operations, reducing the travel time between the two cities from 3.5 hours to just 40 minutes. Commercial ticket sales will officially begin in early October, marking Indonesia's entry into the era of high-speed rail.
The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway is Indonesia's and Southeast Asia's first high-speed rail project, utilizing Chinese technology and standards throughout its entirety. The total length of the line is 142.3 kilometers, with a maximum operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway posed significant challenges due to the complex geological conditions along the route. The project carefully selected its path to avoid landslides, volcanic areas, and other adverse geological conditions to the greatest extent possible. It also incorporated innovative designs, including bridges with superior seismic performance, ballastless tracks for a smoother ride, and advanced train control systems for enhanced functionality. The project was built to high standards and includes 13 tunnels and 56 bridges.

Indonesia definitely make good decisions to choose China as China have good record of completing its undertaking high speed rail all this while. China have the expertise, experience, knowledge, technology, the equipments, the manpower and the money to complete its contracts ahead of their scheduled. China have more than 40K km of high speed rail experience that no country in this world have. Bravos China and Indonesia 👏👏👏👏 As for the Philippines, it’s better China didn’t offer their services to them as they have very2 bad intentions towards China and they have invited their master US to have another 4 military bases in their country to counter and provoke China. So it’s best China stopped all their investment, projects and contracts in this country. There are many other countries in Asia that China can offer their services.

Personally, I do not think that Indonesia will be able to rise above China in rail technology and become a competitor to Chinese rail industry. China's becoming a rail giant is not a small feat. This is a miracle which no other country in this world is able to duplicate (not even the United States). It is safe for China to transfer its rail technology to Indonesia.

People who are comparing Indian Bullet train project with Indonesia...
    Must Understand...
In Indonesia Chinese workers and Chinese machines are doing the majority of work with Indonesian workers.
**But in India L and T(an Indian company) is doing the construction.**
Machines are also built and operated by Indian engineers. Only Chief engineer comes once a while from Japan to see progress and modifications.
**So technically India is learning how to make bullet train project**
**Just like we learned how to make world class Metro infrastructure**
And also JAPAN'S bullet trains are safest and best in the world.
"So asking for help again n again in future from Japan is not what India is thinking."
That's why it is taking time.
Additional info -- Indonesia's route length is 142 km with 4 stations.
**India's route length is 508 km (including 21 km undersea tunnel) with 12 stations **
    So it will take time.

This feels like a chinese propaganda channel but still,
    *"Faster Isn't always Better."*
Indonesia choosed china but because it was cheaper, but delays made it more expensive than Japan's bid. Indonesia went to Japan again, but they refused to take part in half-build HSR stating different safety regulations.
Indonesian HSR is 150km, Indian HSR is 500km.
India plans to cover entire landmass with HSR, high population support it. So Japan is giving the technology so that India can build them on their own. Japan is providing all the cost for it with only 1% interest on loan.
Only problem with Indian delays were land acquisition because you can't move people in a democracy without consent. But measures have been taken to avoid these for future lines. After 100% land acquisition, in just 1 year, half of the project was completed. Construction started in 2023 and phase one will open in 2026.
2nd project with equally long length already has 80% land acquisition completed and route is set to open in 2028. Another 2 very long projects are set to open in 2031.
China was just a expensive builder for Indonesian, while Japan is long term technology partner.
India is levelling up entire railway network. While indonesian politicians are building short expensive projects for votes. They still run dirty, smelly, old and slow diesel engines on 92% track. While indian tracks are 100% electrified.

I just want to correct your statement in 5:55 which says the maximum speed of this variant of the train set is 350km/hour and the operational speed is 300km/hour, that's wrong. You can see it in the widely circulated videos about this high speed train trial, even during the inauguration by the Indonesian president, residents rode together for free during a month's introduction period. Has shown an operational speed of 351km/hour as the maximum daily operational speed limit permitted by the Indonesian government. This type of high speed train is also the same type of China railway company there as the standard High Speed Train, Fuxing CR400AF with a max speed capability of 420km/hour.

The other point of contention is that Japan wanted a percentage of the revenues in perpetuity. That is why the interest rate on the "loan" they provided for their HSR projects seem cheaper. Japan's business strategy for these HSR projects is similar to a bank that wants to provide the mortgage for a shopping mall and also charge a percentage of the mall owner's income forever. This is not even considering the fact that the host will be entirely reliant on Japan for service and repairs if anything goes wrong, thus making any hiccups in the system last longer.
In contrast, China's strategy is to help build up not just the infrastructure but also the local industries that will not only help build the HSR network but also maintain (and maybe extend) the HSR network without China's assistance. The fact of the matter is that every nation's socioeconomic and ecological environment is unique and it makes sense that local companies would have a better understanding of the needs of the local populace than a foreign company hence future trainsets would be made with adjustments that cater to the local market using the Chinese trainsets as their original baseline.
You know the old saying "give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish"? Japan's approach is the "give a man a fish" approach whereas China's approach is the "teach a man to fish" approach.
