RIP Matthew Perry 🌹 What's your fav Matthew Perry role?
COMEDY Playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLQHhQlj8i5dom33r48W9VdQjINncfXrLh.html
RED: th-cam.com/video/f1qE9mg5THg/w-d-xo.html
and very soon, Bruce Willis
As much as you liked this movie, you'll LOVE the sequel, The Whole Ten Yards.
Bruce Willis is even better in that one.
Great reaction to this great film, Jen. Sad about Matthew's passing though, there are two other films which he was really good in, 'Fools Rush In' and 'Three to Tango'. The follow up film 'The Whole Ten Yards' has many of the same cast, it's fun but not as good as this.
Matthew and Michael were both 54, my age, when they died. Ugh.
I kind of know Kevin, who was in The Usual Suspects and A Few Good Men.
So...Who saw Jimmy shooting Frankie 😮? Lots of wheezing on this reaction Jen 😊 love the choices, keep em coming! Thanks again...Eric
R.I.P Matthew Perry, This was his funniest movie ever. His performance and scenes with Bruce Willis were hilarious especially the beer throwing scene.
Gotta check out fool's rush in. Hilarious and great romcom. Kissing a fool was decent too, had Ross in it, used to get the two movies a bit mixed up being both romcoms with friends actors in em lol. I do prefer fool's rush in tho.
They basically took Chandler's character and wrote it into this movie,. It was tailor made for Matthew.
What makes this even more heart felt is seeing what Bruce Willis is going through now. Bruce and Matthew seemed to have had great chemistry, and you know they'd have to had fun filming this. Godspeed, Matthew and Michael Clark Duncan.
Bruce recently went non-verbal 😭 It's really sad to see him struck down like this, but we have a huge body of work to celebrate his career.
RIP to Matthew Perry. I think this is his funniest role. He's a delightfully manic mess.
RIP to Michael Clark Duncan also. A very funny man and super nice by all accounts.
Michael Clarke Duncan was an absolute gem of a human being. Loved seeing him in interviews and just being his casual charming self.
@@demonicrebellion6903 John Coffey's the name like the drink only spelt different !☕
Yes i have seen interviews with him and he seemed like such a genuine man so RIP to Micheal Clarke Duncan
and such a shame to have lost Mathew Perry a great comedic actor i was absolutely in fits of laughter when i saw this and will definitely remember him for his role as CHANDLER
RIP Mathew Perry 🙏
Almost Heroes is pretty top notch man.
@@daniellysohirka4258 It's funnier than it gets credit for, but I still think Perry is funnier in Whole Nine Yards.
@@LordVolkov I think it has an overall better cast, maybe a little bit more nostalgic for me as well. I used to watch it all the time on VHS.
Watching this movie is triple sad now
Because of the three main leads
The recent death of Matthew Perry
The death of Michael Clarke Duncan
And the situation with Bruce Willis
Such an awesome underrated movie
Amanda and Mathew were hilarious, Natasha and Michael were great on the more serious side, and Bruce was a perfect mix of serious and funny.
The Whole Ten Yards is definitely worth watching also.
This is one of the most underrated comedies out there. Perry was so perfect for this role.
This was a god damn delight Jen. I love how much you loved Amanda Peet in this. That trip down the hill when she's walking back to the other house was an outtake, and was so funny they kept it in. I've watched a lot of your videos as they pop up in my feed, but today I subscribed. 🥰👍🏼
Thanks for the reaction.
This movie is really funny and underrated.
Both Amanda Peet and Natasha Henstridge are pure beauties.
Species was a decent movie with Henstridge I liked when I was younger.
No boring scenes. Such a rare treasure.
Another underrated Matthew Perry movie is "Fools Rush In", his favorite movie of the ones who made. It's one of my favorite rom-coms. Highly recommended.
Salma in that movie tho
Only a few reactors have done this movie which is a shame. I wish every now and then instead of doing the same movies every other reactor is doing now and then reactors listen to those who may know a good movie they have never heard of
'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' is a TV show I like quite a lot. It also has Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet. There are only 22 episodes. I don't know if you react to TV shows, but if you do this would be great.
Phenomenal, underappreciated show.
There are no words for how much I love that series.
Some interesting trivia - the term 'The Whole 9-yards' originated from the sailing ships of the 15th through 19th century, that helped discovered other Continents such as North America. The length of the huge chain that held the ship anchors happened to be 27 feet by default, which is 9-yards. That was the modified in the later Centuries for some of the deeper Military ports, but most merchant ships kept that length throughout that time period. When one of those ships had to anchor in a deep port, or further out due to coral, the crew chief in charge of anchoring the vessel would inform the ships Captain that they had to use 'The Whole 9-yards', which stuck for many non Naval situations after that.
The sequel isn't that great, but you should check out "Grosse Point Blank." Another dark comedy with similar themes, similar awkward humor, and also a great soundtrack. These movies were heavily inspired by "Pulp Fiction" which launched a whole genre of crime action/comedies in the late 90's and early 2000's. Another good one is "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" which is a British film and the movie that really launched Jason Statham's career..
Absolutely should react to Grosse Pointe Blank. I hold it as John Cusack's greatest movie and he's done some great ones.
@@jasonirwin4799 Oh I agree. Definitley watch Grosse Point Blank. What a great movie.
I was never really a fan of “Friends”, but this movie made me a Matthew Perry fan. His physical comedy and neuroticism is just so good…like John Ritter level. I wish he had more chances to showcase it on the TV show.
OMG can you imagine a show with him AND John Ritter?
It was the friendship they forged on this movie that got Bruce Willis to make a few episodes of Friends.
Glad you watched this. Matthew Perry is the perfect actor to play Oz. The physical comedy and his timing are just perfect in this movie. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, there is a sequel called The Whole Ten Yards. Definitely worth a watch.
RIP Matthew Perry & Michael Clarke Duncan
Gone but not forgotten
Fools Rush In is another fantastic movie starring Matthew Perry 💔
This is such a fun movie. I'm glad Jen's watching it and hope she enjoys it. Edit: Dammit! How could I forget Natasha Henstridge was in this? I must be even older than I thought.
Haven't seen Amanda Peet in many things, but when I do, I like her a lot. "A Lot Like Love" with her and Ashton Kutcher is really fun watch.
This movie is a huge favorite of mine and i loved your reaction to it! It's such a great little gem. Amanda Peet completely steals every scene she's in. She's just awesome. Everyone is also making things better in little ways. I lived your comment, "good little moment, didn't need to be there". That's the movie in a nutshell
Such an underrated movie. Matthew Perry's physical humor and timing is perfect, and the soundtrack is awesome. All jazz with some Mingus big band in there.
Amanda Peet is so adorable and funny in this movie 😂
I remember this movie was very popular at the time, enough for a sequel. But it's been often overlooked since then for some reason. It deserves more attention.
R.I.P. Mathew Perry 😔😔 this film is a classic..Great reaction
Amanda Peet is in a movie with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton and Keanu Reeves called Something’s Gotta Give.
You’ll love her in that one too , she’s real bubbly in that one too!!👍
Amanda Peet is super talented. She can do both drama & comedy equally well. If u want to see more of her, I would recommend “Saving Silverman” (comedy), and “Igby Goes Down” (dramedy), which also stars Jeff Goldblum and Kieran Culkin.
Matthew Perry portrayed my favourite character on my favourite sitcom of all-time. Friends ran through nearly my entire 20's, so I'm right in the demo. But beyond Chandler Bing, he did some really great movies (this one being arguably the best), and some other truly excellent TV work (Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip is the "one-season wonder" cancellation I am second-most bitter about, just behind Firefly). I will never not miss him. 😢
Thanks for this Jen, you're a Real One. 👍❤
Perry was so fun to watch in this. And I was crushing pretty hard on Amanda Peet when I saw this movie!
I hate that he had to pass away for everyone to finally watch this movie! It’s been one of my favorites since its release.
I am a mayo, ketchup and mustard man for my burgers. Holy trinity of condiments.
Mayo Lovers Unite! ✊
I'm allergic to mayo and mustard (have lots of food allergies), so I'm right there with Bruce when he was threatening to cut the waiter's legs off. LOL X)
Hilarious reaction Jen. I love this movie and the sequel is pretty good. Outstanding cast and performances. Natasha Henstridge is gorgeous. RIP to Matthew Perry and Michael Clarke Duncan, there spirits will live on forever. 🙏❤
I have not watched this movie in so long. It was a blast to revisit it again while watching your reaction. So much fun, thank you!
Ok, you asked about other Amanda Peet movies. One of the most underrated movies, The Way, Way Back! I will pay you to watch this movie! As a matter of fact, I'll go be a patreon today!!!
The day I saw this in theaters - it made my list of favorites of all time.
Amanda Peet is by far one of my top ten favorite guests on the late late show with craig ferguson.
I always enjoy this so much. And Amanda Peet is just spectacular... how can you have a movie with Natasha Henstridge on screen, and I can't stop watching and grinning at the _other_ girl??
Amanda Peet and Matthew Perry stared in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, excellent show she was so funny in it
RIP Matty. The candle that burns the brightest, burns the quickest.
Matthew Perry was a great actor. He had a great sense of humor. He could just about play any role he chose to. Dedicating this reaction video to him was just wonderful.
Such a fun film and cast. A lovely tribute to Matthew Perry. And yes, I had a great time watching along, side note, can you imagine Bruce Willis saying "Love you in those pants!" the way he said it to Jill!? Phew! Love BW
That bass saxophone tune is Charles Mingus' "Moanin'," off of his Blues and Roots album. GREAT stuff!
Now ya can do the sequel, "The Whole Ten Yards." Its pretty good, but it doesn't have the same rewatchability as this one. And another good comedy with Amanda Peet is "Saving Silverman" with Jason Biggs, Jack Black, and Steve Zahn. Come onna yeeaaahhh-haaaaaaaa!!
I remember seeing this movie... honestly before i saw it i had no thoughts about it ar all , but afterwards i love it. Such great performances by Michael Clark Duncan, Bruce Willis and it started my crush on Amanda Peet. She so good in this. So very funny. Also the scene Amanda is walking away and falls down was not in the script but it works with the character so they keep it in
FYI....Amanda Peet is married to one of producers and showrunners of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and they have 3 or 4 kids. I've never seen her in anything in which I didn't love her...she's GREAT!!
Yep - played opposite John Cusack in the disaster movie "2012" as his ex-wife. Another great role for her.
Evil Jen would have been perfect as Evil Jill's (Amanda Peet's) role in this movie. Like you, she was light and breezy and intelligent too.
This movie is so underrated, just like RED. It's just a good time. It's a hilarious, witty movie with a great cast. RIP to the great stars
Matthew Perry and Michael Clark Duncan, our prayers go out to the legendary Bruce Willis.
The Friends sitcom was a live audience, not a laugh track. Watch the blooper/gag reels and you’ll get the reveal. There are times where they’d improv lines that were hilarious but the audience would gasp or boo the line(s). Really awesome. Love the reactions. Keep em coming! 👏👍😁
Matthew and Amanda also worked together in a 1 season series that I also liked: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Matthew Perry was my favorite in Friends and also liked many of his other projects.
Love this movie for the cast as well as the story. Amanda Peet plays the Assistant in the Dentist Office, the first time I saw her was in an episode of Law & Order, S6E5 Hot Pursuit...she's very good at her craft. The actor playing Johnny (Yani) is Kevin Pollack who played Alvin in the comedy Mom and also Sam Weinberg in A Few Good Men, another excellent actor.
Amanda Peet is also in The Whole Ten Yards as well as 2012. A lot of other stuff too, but those are what I remember.
Yes the guy that you thought was in the Usual Suspects is Kevin Pollak and he was also in A Few Good Men with Tom Cruise !!
'The whole nine yards' is a reference to the length of a belt of .50 caliber ammunition loaded into the guns of WWII fighter planes. And when over eager or untried pilots used up that ammo quickly it became the saying 'Gave, or give them the whole nine yards." Like all idioms they evolve over time, so today the saying can be used to describe being to over eager and unexperienced as well as giving all you got even in a no-win situation.
The sequel to this film is worth the viewing too.
Also. The girl 2nd girl that tries to get him to do stuff Is Natasha Henstridge. Most notable for Species and Species 2. Classics.
definitely underrated! It's been such a great reminder of how much i love this movie from all the reactors watching it since MP's death..loved that you loved it!
Also want to say RIP, Matthew Perry and Michael Clarke Duncan. Just realized they were both 54, just way too early to lose anyone. And best wishes to Bruce Willis as well.
Mathew Perry also stars alongside Chris Farley in "Almost Heroes." Which has zero reactions on TH-cam.
I don't think I've ever seen that movie. Probably lots of people missed seeing it, so they don't recommend it, so reactors don't react to it. X)
The guy who played the mobster (Usual Suspects), Kevin Pollak, is also known for being a great impressionist. He does the best exaggerated William Shatner I've seen. See a video of his Star Trek routine, which features many other characters. Before this Amanda Peet starred in TV's "Jack and Jill", and is now married to David Benioff, who co-produced "Game of Thrones". She used to be a frequent funny guest on Letterman.
The lady that plays Jimmy's wife she did a great job in the first 2 species movies
one of the few movies that made me cry from laughing. especially the slide door scene
Rosanna Arquette here in this movie, she is the inspiration for the song Rosanna by Toto! Amanda Peete is also in Saving Silverman with Jack Black
1:26 - It took me way too many rewatches to realize this is either Oz's wife or mother-in-law Jill is talking to.
@ 24:46 that tune with the bari sax is called "Moanin' Mambo" by the Mingus Big Band. I especially like the live version with Ronnie Cuber playing the bari solo. He was a beast.
I just listened to Matthew Perry's audiobook and 1) He recalls biting into peanut butter toast and all his teeth coming out, forcing him to get back on the drugs he's been avoiding. 2) He says The Whole Ten Yards is utterly horrible. I haven't watched it. But I'll take his word on it.
I don't know why this isn't more well-known. It was back in the day. But then again, there are A LOT of movies that are famous that have extremely few reactions (like The Graduate and Fast Times at Ridgemont High).
This one put a smile on my face, Matthew Perry doing what he does best. Thanks for this one Jen!
This was easily my favorite Matthew Perry performance. He was great as Chandler on Friends of course, but something about his timing and the chemistry with Bruce Willis, just made this movie beyond funny and I think it is massively underrated. Still makes me laugh every time and I have probably seen it over 20 times. RIP Matty Perry.
Indeed Nastasha Henstridge was quite the beauty. Especially in Species (1995), which has a literal all-star cast, though would have to be quite edited for TH-cam since Natasha spends a fair bit of the movie naked, lol.
Mathew perry also plays in Fools Rush in... Another great picture.
Fool's Rush In is one of my favorite of Matthew's movie.
The fantastic thumbnail sells it for me just brilliant 👌 really wanna watch the full reaction though so will be watching that this week at some point 👍 hope everyone has a blast watching 🍿🥤
Good one, Jen. I agree, Amanda Peet is really adorable as a wannabe hitman (!?) I never saw this film before, I might have to watch it in full. Thanks.
One of my favorite romantic comedies is Fools Rush In with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. I would love to watch your reaction to that one!!
I knew you'd love this even without knowing how much you loved Friends. Fantastic mix of action, comedy and intrigue.
Edit: If you want to see more of this cast the sequel is worth watching, but also a few other suggestions, Amanda Peet is great in a very quirky comedy from around this time called Saving Silverman. Natasha Henstridge might still be best known for her movie debut Species a cheesy fun 90's action/thriller movie with a loaded cast. And lastly Amanda Peet and Matthew Perry worked together on an Aaron Sorkin show called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Honestly the show is probably not worth watching in it's entirety, however it has one of the great pilot episodes of all time and that IS worth watching. I'm sure that it would not be a view magnet for youtube but definitely worth an hour of your time off-camera or on patreon.
The Friends tie-ins are so interesting. The actress who played MP’s wife is Rosanna Arquette. Her brother David appeared on Friends as the stalker of Phoebe’s twin sister Ursula. He also married Courtney Cox. And MP bet Bruce Willis that this movie would do well. When it did, Bruce lost and appeared on Friends to satisfy the bet.
Matthew perry and Amanda peet are in the tv show studio 60 on the sunset strip. Axed after 1 season but i loved it. R.I.P Matt xx
The girl, as others have said, is Amanda Peet. The other works of hers you should check out are "Igby Goes Down", "The Way Way Back", "2012"and (if you can find it) the single season of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". Aaron Sorkin writing for her, Matt Perry, Bradley Whitford and an unknown Sara Paulson showing us in one season why she deserved to be a star. It being a single season sucks but it is, hands down, my favorite Matthew Perry project.
(Fools rush in) is really good. Heart felt and funny. "Lucy you got some splainen do" 😂 R.I.P.
Don't forget Bruce was on Friends for a little while.Apparently Bruce wasn't so sure this movie would be hit, so he and Perry made a bet (which he lost) that he would go Friends if the movie was a success.
Love this film so much, glad you liked it, definitely gotta do The Whole Ten Yards now
Great movie Jen. In case you're interested, they made a sequel called "The Whole TEN Yards" which isn't too bad.
If you like Amanda Peet, watch her in Saving Silverman. Gold.
And there had to be 50+ grandpa wheezes in this episode.
R.I.P Michael Clarke Duncan (1957-2012) & Matthew Perry (1969-2023)
A Matthew Perry TV series worth checking out is, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. It also has Amanda Peet in it.
RIP Matthew Perry. 🌹💜
YASSSSSSSSS... These are some of my fav corny comedies to watch. this and the sequel ( the whole 10 yards ) as well as the analyze this and analyze that movies with deniro and billy crystal. both are 10/10 movies
The scene where he shoots frankie and then tosses oz a beer and he doesnt even try to catch it as it goes right into the water always kills me. So many good little bits in this movie that are just plain funny.
Great recommendations! I absolutely loved Analyze This and the sequel Analyze That!! :D
R.I.P To A Great Actor Matthew Perry,You Will Be Missed 😢
Jen plus Bruce Willis always produces a great reaction.
fantastic movie
Yimmy 😍
the Bruce Willis character on Friends was hilarious. Ross's young girlfriend's dad
This is a fun movie and Jen will surely enjoy it! Here we go!
Love this movie so much! Lovely tribute to him; thanks Jen! :)
Doing this movie together is what led to Bruce Willis guest starring on Friends. Bruce didn't think the movie would fare well at the box office; Matthew bet him it would. Bruce lost, and so had to appear on the show, which he did for free (or, you know, at scale, which is free for a big star like him) since his appearance was due to a bet. I think he gave his scale pay to charity, if I remember the story correctly, so he wouldn't profit off a bet he lost. Everyone loved him on the set of Friends so much, he ended up doing several episodes for his guest spot. :)
Well, aside from the sequel The Whole Ten Yards, Amanda Peet's been in several movies, but most of the ones I've seen I didn't find too memorable. I did love Something's Gotta Give, which she's in (along with Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, and Keanu Reeves). Highly recommend this comedy, along with the sequel, if you want more Amanda. :)
Oh, and for more Matthew Perry, I recommend The Ron Clark Story so you can see him play a more serious role. It's not Oscar worthy, but it's a really sweet movie. :) RIP Matthew. You are missed.
RIP Michael Clarke Duncan. I remember you bro !!
Absolutely love this movie. One of my all time favorites!!!
By now you know that Yanny was Kevin Pollack who was in the Usual Susptects! Have fun and enjoy! RIP Matthew Perry!
Great reaction! The Whole Ten Yards and Fools Rush In are also great movies to watch / continue with IMO.
I love this film! Rip Matthew Perry😥
Matthew Perry will be sorely miss. His comedic timing was always perfect and thankfully he left us with many hours of hilarious entertainment that I'm sure will even outlasts our lifetimes. Bruce Willis too I still pray for his well-being and hope for his health and happiness during his difficult time. As with Michael Clarke Duncan who also left us too soon 😢 another magnificent actor who left such an indelible mark in this world. Bless them all.
Now for Amanda Peet. A movie that she's in that I thought was pretty funny is another little odd comedy called "SAVING SILVERMAN " which also stars Jack Black, Jason Biggs, Steve Zahn and Neil Diamond. I thought she was hilarious as the crazy over the top fiance to the main character Silverman. IMHO. Well take care Jen 😊
Not about your reaction Jen, but God is Amanda Peet gorgeous. Her cheekbones are amazing. Michael Clarke Duncan's comment about her on the balcony is true, if crude lol. Edit: the blonde lady, Natasha Henstridge, didn't exactly fall out of the ugly tree either. This movie had a PROFOUND effect on younger me.
I love both these movies ❤
Catch Amanda Peet in the 2003 thriller “Identity” with a stacked cast. Catch Natasha Henstridge in the 1995 sci-fi thriller “Species” with also a stacked cast.
