I served with Jamie in the NZ regular force battalion (1RNZIR) and on peacekeeping ops in East Timor. Beyond everything he's achieved in the military he is just an all-round good person. Even after spending many years in the SAS he still stayed connected with the rest of us grunts digging holes and filling sandbags haha! Chur brother!
What a humble man. NZ Special Forces are different to the US. US take all the credits and here is Jamie giving credits to the team and refused to take it all for himself ❤
Nah, don’t speak down about us on the U.S. side. You don’t know what you don’t know, and that’s fine. But keep it respectful. Jamie is a Hell of a guy, as are the majority of guys in Special Operatjons worldwide.
I also listened to a podcast with Barrie Rice recently. I could visualise the situations Jamie describes as he speaks with such passion and knowledge, and I he very rarely swears. He doesn't have to try to be cool, he just is. I notice even though the soldiers have retired from the NZSAS over a decade ago, they maintain a level of fitness many never will achieve. When many young men don't have a positive male figure in their lives, Jamie's example will have an enormous influence on those fortunate enough to spend some time with him. Two hours just flew by.
Jamie, and all the boys/girls from all areas of the military who served in the past, currently or in the future. THANKS - and not a shitty pass you in the street thanks but a THANKS from the bottom of our hearts for letting us live our lives and sleep at night while you legends are out risking it all to keep us safe. We/I appreciate you.
