- In today's Video we are making a Beatrix Potter inspired Easter Treat. I am using an Amish recipe and a very special Vanilla.

Yes Beatrix Potter has such an amazing life story. I have the Miss Potter on tape.... My favorite is the Beatrix Potter "My Journal" If you do not have that... please try to and find it, as it is an absolute treasure . You really feel her authentic self through the pages. I too, like you love the visuals in the movie. The scenery, the homes, the period costumes.... pure eye candy. Your icing skills are quite impressive!!! The cupcakes look beautiful, and I am sure, taste even better! The dusting of sanding sugar is so pretty!

And your old fashioned flour sifter was so cute. But I have to interject that my family had a quality bakery for 52 years and we never had time to sift flour and never needed to (it just isn't necessary). I worked at my family's bakery for 40 years starting at age 8 where I swept the floors (of sugar & flour) for enough money to go down the street to buy paper dolls. Years later I was the cake decorator and manager...memories.
Oh, thank you for sharing Marie. I love those memories. I chose to sift the flour because I was using Einkorn which can sometime be tricky when using it in cakes, but I appreciate the information. Have a great week!

Oh l love Beatrix Potter also. I even have that book. Those cupcakes looked yummy, l think l made a carrot cake from scratch quite a few years ago, it was a lot of work. That reminds me l need to order some of that vanilla from Linda.

I just came in from shoveling yesterday's snowfall, 15". Of course, I'm farther north than you, up here in Vermont. Thank you for the cupcake inspiration recipe. Oh how exciting that you were able to visit Hill Top Farm! The Lake District looks absolutely beautiful and I've only seen it on film. Your Potter-themed cupcakes really touched my heart, I’ve loved everything Beatrix since first discovering her as a child - & how appropriate that they are “carrot” cake, I’m sure Peter Rabbit & Benjamin Bunny, along with Flopsy, Mopsy & Cotton-tail all approve! Beatrix Potter, Betsey Clark, & Precious Moments are what a girl’s dream childhood are made of.
I noticed your paneled refrigerator & matching cabinet doors - stunning! They are truly beautiful. As also is the blue/white serving plate you displayed your cupcakes on.
Northeast Indiana has not produced much snow for us this past winter, so I am envious of the magical ground covering you’ve filmed for us. Maybe next year? 🤞🏼🤞🏼
