Chinese Deliveryman Strips Down to Save Drowning Girl | News From Behind the Great Firewall

  • In this video, I want to show you some of the news stories from behind the Great Firewall of China, such as a Chinese deliveryman who strips down to save a drowning girl while on the clock. Plus scammers taking advantage of the online gaming craze to swindle money out of game addicts, a massive snow fight, and how shopping online can result in undesirable outcomes that you never bargained for.
If you watch news about China - regardless of whether it be via Western mainstream media or Chinese state-owned channels, you're probably used to seeing news about military parades and high-level meetings. But do you ever hear about everyday stories? The news that humanizes Chinese people? Believe it or not - amongst the propaganda that airs in China - it does exist, and it isn't that hard to find.
I spent about 20 minutes recording news stories from the news channel of the TV station that I work for in China to find these stories. They were all broadcast on the same day, and all gave me a look into a different side of China that many foreigners don't often get to see.
Check out some of my recent videos on China:
Anti-China sentiment in Australia, and how it has been used against you:

It's because the Chinese legal system is starting to correct itself, away from from our western litigation culture. They used to try to imitate everything western, including our legal system, with all its flaws. As a nurse, I'm familiar with this: Half the paperwork I'm doing involves inoculating the institution against liability. When anything happens, the doctor, pharmacist, and nurse points the finger at each other, and patient's legal representative treat it as a money grab. Documentation takes up 2/3 of the workload, while actual patient needs get ignored, just to evade lawyers' accusations in the future. Nursing students are advised to not provide life saving first aid on accident scenes outside of their workplace, because only EMT/first responded on duty are shielded from liability. The whole system is toxic, and getting more so with each passing year. This toxic litigation culture began with medical and labor fields, but now has penetrated every facet of American society, down to the playground. Fathers/men are scared to help crying children, in fear of being accused of sexual misconduct.
Starting a few years ago, thanks to seeing our butched covid response, the Chinese realized the structural flaws in our systems that need to be avoided, instead of imported.

Thanks Hazza for uploading this video! It’s very good that you also share everyday news items. Many people living outside China and especially outside Asia think that daily news and tv in China only consist of speeches from Xi Jinping and new regulations from the CPC. Western MSM often dehumanize Chinese people to mindless CPC drones. This video helps humanize Chinese people to the outside world. It shows that Chinese people are just regular people living ordinary lives with their own dreams and struggles like everyone else living on this planet.

Thanks Hazza for your positive and encouraging report about China, especially for me as a Chinese in Australia. I am frustrated and outrageous to see the irresponsible daily news about China on ABC...
Here is today's news title by Stan Grant "The 'disappearance' of tennis player Peng Shuai is a reminder that China is a fragile superpower". The first 3 paragraphs quote:
"How can a nation so powerful, so demanding of respect, and so quick to intimidate others be apparently so afraid of a female tennis player?
The "disappearance" of Peng Shuai tells us so much about the Chinese Communist Party and its Achilles heel. I write "disappearance" because we just don't know.
That's the point: "truth" is hard to find in China. There is no freedom of expression, no free and open media, no rule of law as we understand it. The Communist Party determines what "truth" is. "
I am hoping someone can do reaction videos on those news and debunk them... the reporter is going too far

I really like how you show some of the titles they air on GZ TV especially the lady caught in the RBT, the cop there (obviously a veteran) is polite, professional and incorruptible~! Puts her right back in her place! don't matter who she knew she was only going to do one thing as instructed and that's to get results in the breathalyzer. Any further talking was going to get more people into trouble~! Awesome.

Hazza reminds me of a Superman type of guy. I can just imagine him responding to an emergency call about a bus full of passengers on a collapsing Guangzhou highway or perhaps granny hanging by her fingernails from her 23rd floor apartment after slipping while feeding the birds.

Hey Harry, this is a great idea. Just some normal everyday life news and views from the place with the most people. I can't understand a word of Cantonese, so captions were great 👍 but the rest is just like watching the news as per normal. One thing I do remember from my time over there, was the news never always started with Doom and Gloom. There was something positive to get it going first. National news had its own channel and there you could follow the world stage, there wasn't a great difference in the story that was reported, just the view from the other side. As I had access to Australian tv as well, I could also see the same reports from the USA/AUS view too. Back to you doing more, would you be able to get video of your day just shopping, using transport, eating, etc? I did this by using my phone in my shirt pocket for my mother LoL. She was always asking if I was eating well, was I safe, were the people ok when I first arrived. After that she never worried again. It was the same as home but in a different language and a few more people. Keep on this idea, normal life is what people need to see and news that is not politics. Great work mate! Jeff

Yeah - there is definitely a mix of pieces. I think sometimes you need a few happier stories here and there to keep people watching... If it is all doom and gloom, I think there's a certain group of people that was just disengage and do something that made them happy instead

you should show more of these kinds of videos as it is real-life stories. on the other hand, all of these stories happen here in canada and all over the world as well. for the anti-ccp haters, especially those mainland chinese youtubers. yes, i have watched their videos. they show it as if it is the evilness of chinese ccp and culture and it is very common in china and implied it could only happen in china. i have also read viewers' comments, sometimes i really scratch my head because they said it only happened in china. it is so sad because bias and hatred can really pollute someone's mind. love from canada.

Helping people is a virtue we.educate kids in school. At my time, it's just normal thing people help each other. But then because of some people help people then was blackmailed and.the law was not covering these kind of.cases, the climate had.changed for some years. So glad the laws are more complete and nice people won't need to worry about the blackmails.

Since when is the "Good Samaritan law" in effect in China and what does it effectively comprehends?
It was very brave of that man to save the little girls because the water is probably very COLD by now.
The best people are often the ordinary people and not the rich or famous people.

I can’t remember the exact date. It was a couple of years ago. In the past, some scammers would fake emergencies, and then say that they got hurt by the people that tried to help them so that they would need to give compensation. Those laws protect people that are just trying to help

  • @yorkiesweetpea23
    @yorkiesweetpea23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

For anyone who doesn't know why people in China advise not to help strangers:
It mostly was because of an incident that happened back in 2006.
A man had been in a traffic accident, and a good Samaritan had rushed over to help, saving the man's life.
Afterwards, the victim in turn threatened to sue the good Samaritan hero! Claiming the hero injured the victim by carrying him out of the accident and away from danger. In truth, the victim would of died if not for the hero. And it was NOT proven the hero injured victim at all.
Basically, the victim couldn't get compensation from the accident itself, and so then had turned to blamming the hero 🤦🏻‍♀️. The hero ended up having to pay for all of the "victim's" medical bills!
There were witnesses to this incident, and this case because infamous. It put off majority of the people in China. A lot of people had commented: the hero should of just let the guy die instead of saving him. It would of saved the hero from all the headache and financial loss.
Sadly, after that incident, then popped up scammers who fake needing help, attempting to pull off something similar, to trick innocent people into paying up cash.
The aftermath of all that, resulted in China citizens being weary or flat out unwilling to help strangers in need of help.
(All of the "mind your own business" mindset, then led to the most horrible & heartbreaking thing:
In 2011, when that poor innocent 2 year old girl was run over by 2 different vehicles. And dozens of people, cars just ignored the little toddler laying in middle of road. Many cars drove around her tiny body without stopping to help! )

Thinking Chinese people are different from Westerners is the same as thinking that one of them is not the human species. When we manage to broaden our horizons we become wiser and easy to understand that the human species is basically the same, regardless of race.

I really enjoyed your video where I can see what I would not usually be able to see on international news especially BBC. Since the riots in HK I have stopped watching BBC because they are so fake and distorted. I would like to see a BBC reporter stand between ISIS members holding guns and protestors (not possible and yet they stand between the Hong Kong police and the rioters and have the audacity to call the police violent) .
