@@ashg2336 This is true. The rest of the guys add very good musicianship... but that is a dime a dozen. I was going to say this was my favorite song 20 years ago. But I want you guys just to watch it. This video is only 68k views away from reaching 100 million exhibitions!
Just guessing but maybe Growl was an intentional misspelling in reference to the fact that Dave is apparently a bit of a perfectionist, has an exceptional ear and is a tad OCD. That type can appear demanding. I think when one possessing those attributes has something particular in mind a sound or whatever it is they're looking for, they strive to attain it at all costs. From what I've ever heard or read about Dave he's one of the nicest easy going guys in the industry. A humanitarian and philanthropist. I read his book Storyteller and my take away was that he worked really really hard, suffered a great deal of loss, kept working hard, gained great success while remaining grateful and humble. He broke his leg during a concert and instead of going straight to the hospital as was suggested, he insisted on finishing the show as not to disappoint the fans he knew spent their hard earned money to attend. A multi-talented genius in my book. One I don't know personally but one I do believe I love 😊❤✌️🎶 P.S. as a fellow OCDian I can relate as I've edited this comment about 5 times in the past 5 minutes. Perfectionism sucks!! As perfection is but a myth 😏
For over 25 years this band has done it all one of the best in the business and so humble about all that has happened the ups and downs for the music industry I never would have guessed that a drummer from one of the world's iconic band that has ever played ever time I hear foo fighters
I enjoy seeing these guys as I remember them from my teens. It's comforting. Like a temporary immortality between the video and my memory. Rock eternal, boys.
Just recommended this jam to a good friend. That line " done done on to the next one" is eternally engraved in my brain. I paraphrase it all the time when I finish any kind of project lol. My deepest sympathies go out to the band and Taylor's family and friends. May we all rock together in the next life.
I remember when I first saw this video, I thought Dave's clear guitar was one of the sickest guitars I had ever seen. I still feel the same more than a decade later. The appeal of that guitar has lasted as long as all of Foo's music. Their music is legendary, they are phenomenal musicians, and I look forward to rocking their music when I am in a nursing home, complaining about how modern music sucks and isn't rock compared to the 'oldies'.
What a devastating news. I still can't believe it.The foos have been my favorite band since my highshool days. I feel so sad it's almost as if a part of our soul was destroyed. My prayers and love goes to his family bandmates and to Dave of course. Taylor was like a ray of sun he literally lightens up every room he woke into. He was so cool and talented. We will always remember your music and your beautiful smile. Thank you for all the energy and the love you have given us all these years. You litteraly gave a meaning to rock and roll and to my life. May you rock out in heaven sweet blond angel
Bush's sound has maintained its brilliance and sound, uncompromised. Saw them in Oregon over the summer and was blown away, seriously it was the best concert I have ever seen, no reason they shouldn't be blowing up radios still beyond art is gone and lost today. But I tell you, something in the way he performed made me feel sad, he is so humble but made me have a loss feeling. But something seriously beautiful. Time has passed but Rossdale hasn't lost one step you would never know.
3:31 is the hardest shit I've ever heard in a modern rock song. You might disagree with me, but I've seen them do that 3 times live now & every single time the crowd loses their minds. It's face-meltingly Rock n' Roll
I have to agree, ill jam this just for that part alone . . I love everything about this song though . . Even my 2 year old son starts head banging with his horns high in the air . .
Just saw em in St Louis two weeks ago at the Enterprise Center and I agree. Not one person was sitting. The entire arena went fucking insane and screamed the song with him. Ears were ringing for two days lol.
This is true but they also are so good at writing songs that like... sometimes every song on an album they make sounds like it could be a single. I am not saying this is a bad thing. I fking love The Foo. I remember when this was new and being played on music video channels though. It's amazing how far they came.
The combo of balls and bite in that guitar tone in the opening riff is absolutely legendary. Such a grimey, gritty tone, and it's barely even overdriven. Stellar.
They were five years in when they dropped this song back in 2002 and their legend was still burgeoning. To see them now in full bloom of legendary is awesomeness. One of the greatest bands ever seen
One of my fondest memories involves this song. I saw the Foos on the Wasting Light tour in Cleveland in 2011. I was standing most of the show and I sat down when Dave took a little break and talked to the crowd for a minute. Can't remember if it was band intros or something like that, but then the band started the intro of this song and I remember sitting on the end of my seat and the seat is literally shaking from the opening riff. Awesome show.
RIP Taylor Hawkins, this was the fist Foo Fighters song i remember ever listening, this was the first disc i ever bought with my own money, remember going out of the secondary with the final results in my hands happy I passed the final difficult tests, walked about 1km to the music story and bought it to celebrate, listed to this for countless hours that night . Thanks for this great music and the good memories it brings o me.
This might, just might, be the Foo's best song. But it's impossible to choose because of their massive catalog of songs and videos. Everlong done in the acoustic version is really good too.
This was one of my favorite songs when it came out and I used to watch the video on MTV2 (back when MTV2 first came out and actually played videos) whenever it came on. I cannot believe I never noticed the transparent guitar!! Hahaha.
Now I know why I loved this song ever since I first heard it ! , In the past 6 Months I have Lost my Girl of 18 years , My Dogs and my Job . Seriously !!!! I know what I need to do , But I am older and do not have much energy left .
Watching Grohl perform is the best .his energy and love for rock plus his talent ? Awe inspiring My neighbors love this song. They can't stop screaming!
I seen the Foo's last night at Hampden Park in Glasgow. As a long term Fan of Taylor Hawkins, and a fellow Drummer, I was keen to see Josh Freese in action (first time I've seen them without Taylor). I wasn't disappointed. I need to up my Fucking Game! Outstanding Gig.
"Sick, Sick, Sick" vibes. This was my friends anthem and mine, when we used to go to the beach, back in 2002. We used to wait for MTV to broadcast this song, before we hit the road. (When MTV was about music non-stop)
we need songs like this hopefully there will be a successor for legendary bands like foo fighters songs that bring out the souls and spirits that die and rise again

Yup. This guitar and the one James Hetfield uses in Whiskey in the jar are two of my favorite guitars of that decade.

I was going to say this was my favorite song 20 years ago. But I want you guys just to watch it. This video is only 68k views away from reaching 100 million exhibitions!

Descansa em paz Taylor. Um dos melhores bateristas que vi na vida e um dos poucos a agradar o exigente Dave Growl. Lenda!
Dave Grohl*
@@J_australia Gusttavo Lima!
Amazing talent!
I enjoy seeing these guys as I remember them from my teens. It's comforting. Like a temporary immortality between the video and my memory. Rock eternal, boys.
This is one of the cd's i would pull out of my dad's collection and listen to back in the day. Thank you for having great taste Dad.
Just recommended this jam to a good friend. That line " done done on to the next one" is eternally engraved in my brain. I paraphrase it all the time when I finish any kind of project lol. My deepest sympathies go out to the band and Taylor's family and friends. May we all rock together in the next life.
This song is about cunnilingus on groupies
@@briannashockley4479 come on now you've got to be fucking with me lol, but then again any interpretation is possible.
No this is coming from Grohl himself. For real just look up "all my life meaning Dave grohl" any search engine
Clear guitar is Dan Armstrong guitar, last American made in 71 will be in production in Seattle in about 60 days.
I never see a multinstrumentalist with this kind of guitar. Amazing Dave and the band!!!
Dave's guitar is transparent... First time I notice that ever 😂
Wow, I just saw that. That's cool.
You ever see Samantha Fish, she friggin plays a kerosene guitar, OHH YEAH
O_o
That’s a Dan Armstrong... very cool, but *very heavy*
It’s a ampeg Dan Armstrong lucite
One of the BEST Hard Rock Bands ever!! The part of the song from 3:31 until the end of the song gives me chills (in a good way, of course)
It’s 2024 and I’m still rockin’ this song! My favorite Foo song! The energy is crazy!!!
Me too ❤

Still love this song!! RIP Taylor! Thank you for the tunes! 💜
Known fact! This song will wake you up quicker than a cup of coffee would! Foo Fighters is awesome bro 😎!
True! But will this song help me with the first poop of the day?
3:31 is the hardest shit I've ever heard in a modern rock song. You might disagree with me, but I've seen them do that 3 times live now & every single time the crowd loses their minds. It's face-meltingly Rock n' Roll
U can't help but lose it with him!
Ears were ringing for two days lol.
what u mean?
Its fucking mental but idk pantera domination the breakdown in the omg
Foo Fighters isn’t like other bands. They don’t thrive on singles. Every song of theirs has the same love and care put into it as the next.
This is true but they also are so good at writing songs that like... sometimes every song on an album they make sounds like it could be a single. I am not saying this is a bad thing. I fking love The Foo. I remember when this was new and being played on music video channels though. It's amazing how far they came.
nah they do thrive on singles: Everlong, Pretender, this one
Ben Parsons their other songs are great though.
EXACTLY
reminds me of an American version of nickleback
The combo of balls and bite in that guitar tone in the opening riff is absolutely legendary. Such a grimey, gritty tone, and it's barely even overdriven. Stellar.
They were five years in when they dropped this song back in 2002 and their legend was still burgeoning. To see them now in full bloom of legendary is awesomeness. One of the greatest bands ever seen
This is a dangerous driving tune
My favorite Foo Fighters song...
...yes, even more than "Everlong."
I'm sorry maybe not for me the Acoustic Everlong gives me goosebumps so idk if it's my fav but everything from foo fighters is 🔥

I was at the same show! Favorite part of the whole performance!
oh yeah I was there too! goddamn I loved that amazing moment.
Damn! Wish I was there! It sounds amazing.
One of my favorites by the Foo!
Great Song! :0)

People dont ever get recognized for doing good things, like simply being nice to someone. I just like people that are nice to other people.

When they start rocking out in front of the backdrop. Just badass! RIP Taylor!
Impossible yes. This one is floating at the top. The Pretender is a contender and Everlong (Rock version for me).
The Pretender is my favorite by far.
RIP Taylor, I had the honor to see you perform live twice… you will be missed 😢
you’re lucky. I got into the band five days before he passed….

This was one of my favorite songs when it came out and I used to watch the video on MTV2 (back when MTV2 first came out and actually played videos) whenever it came on. I cannot believe I never noticed the transparent guitar!! Hahaha.

The sound quality of this video is amazing. I opened the video on the phone , and it exploded.

Foo Fighters Lyrics
"All My Life"
All my life I've been searching for something
Something never comes never leads to nothing
Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around then it's taken away
Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most
Feel it come to life when I see your ghost
Come down don't you resist
You have such a delicate wrist
And if I give it a twist
Something to hold when I lose my grip
Will I find something in there
To give me just what I need?
Another reason to bleed
One by one hidden up my sleeve
One by one hidden up my sleeve
Hey don't let it go to waste
I love it but I hate the taste
Weight keeping me down [2x]
Will I find a believer
Another one who believes
Another one to deceive
Over and over down on my knees
If I get any closer
And if you open up wide
And if you let me inside
On and on I've got nothing to hide
On and on I've got nothing to hide
Hey don't let it go to waste
I love it but I hate the taste
Weight keeping me down [2x]
All my life I've been searching for something
Something never comes never leads to nothing
Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around, when it's taken away
Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most
Feel it come to life when I see your ghost
And I'm done, done and I'm on to the next one [8x]
[Yelling:]
Done, done, on to the next one
Done I'm done and I'm on to the next one [2x]
Hey don't let it go to waste
I love it but I hate the taste
Weight keeping me down [2x]
[Yelling]
Done, done and on to the next one
Done, I'm done, and I'm
On to the next.
Thank you!
