I think every comment that isn't "haha Nirvana drummer" says this, but the music video is actually a parody of scenes from a great movie called "Falling Down"
This album changed my life. It gave me the courage I needed to leave a very toxic marriage & figure out new path for me & my daughter. Thank you Dave Grohl.
When I was like 6 me and my dad would watch this music video together all the time. This video was the best thing I'd ever watched. For months this went on, just me and Dad laughing and laughing. Now I'm 13 and going to see my first concert (Foo Fighters of course) next month. I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self how important this song would end up being for me.

Dear sir. My wife and I saw you in GR Michigan in 2023. It was a great show. We have a 17 year old special needs daughter who is very challenged mentally. She will live under supervision all her life❤. Anyway, one night as she cuddled with me and my wife at bed time, I played this song to relive the memory of the concert we saw. She said, “Dad, play the boy again. I like this.” So, in her world, your the boy who plays a song that she like to hear at bedtime. I can’t help but think of the irony of the song and my daughter 🤷♂️. Thanks
First concert I ever went to at Bamboozle in 2012, Ill never forget Dave saying "you don't need all these fancy lights and equipment, you can do this too, anyone can do this'' changed my life forever
This was released a year before I had major spinal cord surgery. It helped me through sepsis post surgery, a gaping hole left in my back for months and learning to walk again. ❤️
This song helped motivate me through my depression from my divorce. I was losing hope that life would never be the same but I learned to "walk" again. Thank you to my favorite band of all time. RIP Taylor Hawkins. You will never be forgotten.
Every foo fighter's song hits the soul and heart if you think about Taylor, but his essence stil in every bit of music and this is all that matter, he never die if we never stop sing and play his legacy.
"Forever, whenever, I never wanna die" This line alone means so much to me. I hope one day I can say these words and truly mean it. Thank you Foo Fighters, I never wanna say goodbye to you or this world.
Siempre quise ver a los Foo en vivo. Taylor era de mis bateristas favoritos. Estuvieron en mi ciudad hace poco y por no tener dinero no pude ir. Esta cancion lo es todo para mi . Taylor por siempre en mi espíritu musical.
Attending my first concert at Bamboozle in 2012 was a transformative experience, and Dave's words have stuck with me ever since. When he declared, "you don't need all these fancy lights and equipment, you can do this too, anyone can do this," it was like a revelation that transcended the performance itself. Dave's message was empowering, breaking down the barriers between the stage and the audience, inspiring a belief that creativity and passion are within everyone's reach. That moment became a catalyst for change in my life, sparking a newfound motivation to pursue my own artistic endeavors. The idea that anyone can create something meaningful, regardless of resources or background, is a powerful and liberating concept. Dave's words continue to resonate with me, serving as a constant reminder that the journey of self-expression is open to all, and that sometimes, all it takes is the courage to embrace one's creativity. The Bamboozle concert of 2012, with its memorable message, will forever be etched in my mind as a turning point and a source of inspiration.

This song help me immensely. I was struck down a year this week . Paralysed unable to breathe without life support, had to learn how to breathe unaided, talk again, walk again , eat again. Guillain Barre Syndrome. I have since recovered about 95%. When your in agony painful nerve endings and massive muscle wastage and you have this playing when you are pushing through the pain barrier doing physio in a rehab hospital the words are so motivational. I never wanna die I was running through the fire, dancing on my grave and learning to walk and talk again . Thanks Dave you fuckin helped me man.
Love that this song helped you! I can honestly say that i have yet to hear Foo Fighters song that wasnt awesome. I could never say that about Nirvana tho. Its a shame that their best asset was constantly overlooked and in the back/behind the scenes, and its really shitty that it took Kurt Cobain to die for him to make his way. Btw, Have u seen the movie this music video is copying? Its great! Stars Michael Douglas and its called *Falling Down* That movie will put shit into perspective.
jessica beverley thanks for the reply. Yeah it’s always the way with a front man in a band that’s idolised like Kurt was. People wrongly assume the success is all down to the charismatic front man when actually it’s a team effort. Dave is special he’s developed something unique, the punchy tunes and his style of guitar playing are all strongly influenced by his drumming, and he was and still is a talented drummer. But Dave will agree it’s not all his doing , while he runs the show he has a lot of talented guys with him to make the Foo Fighters who they are. His drive and never give up attitude inspire me, like when he broke his leg and the band played on. Yes btw I have seen falling down twice. Michael Douglas is certainly having a bad day. Ha ha
This is my Anthem. I have started over more times than I care to mention, and have had to learn to walk again several times, and had speech issues due to a stroke. I am on my latest Start Over at nearly 55 years of age. I relate to this song on so many levels. The frustration of dealing with the world and how people are callous A-holes who want you to cater to them. This song is me.
Rest in peace Taylor. Your joy and your energy on this earth will never be forgotten. You are a legend. I always come back to this video to remember my youth, and now it has more value for me.
In 2001 I was diagnosed with leukemia. Had a stem cell transplant(think bone marrow) from my sister in 2002. Without going into all the details I'll just say I ended up in a wheelchair with nerve damage in my feet and left hand. I still to this day cannot feel much below the ankle or move my feet. I have special orthotics that help me walk but I literally had to learn how to walk again and it was YEARS of physical therapy to get me there. My balance isn't great but I CAN walk again. I also used to tell people that I was too stubborn to die. This song came out in 2011 years after all of these happened to me and I know this isn't the case but it literally feels like these guys took my story and made a song about. I've heard this song hundreds of times but I still get chills every single time I hear Dave sing I'm never gonna die.
I’m so happy you’re here to tell your story. Let me tell you how similar our stories are. My little brother had a stem cell transplant at 43, diagnosed with Plasma Cell leukemia. Also, with Multiple myeloma. His spine was/is pretty much destroyed. He can walk, but it was HARD to come back. This song, I played daily as I left the hospital. I flew from Tennessee to California to be with him. For 3 months….. He’s still here too. Not only will I think of him, I will think of you every time this song plays. I hope you do well and have a beautiful life from here on out.
My Dad had myelofibrosis and went in for a stem cell transplant last year, unfortunately it didn't take and he passed away almost a year ago. He was the biggest Foo Fighters fan and I'm glad I got to see them with him a few years ago. I just wish he was still here. Well done for fighting it, I wish you all the best for what's to come!
My oldest daughter was 1 yrs old and my oldest son was on the way when this album came out and when I heard this song it literally changed my life and helped me grow up and become the best parent and husband I could be I learned to walk again spiritually because of the Foo Fighters so with that being said shout out to the Foo's for doing what they do for over 20 yrs💪🏾🤘🏾
Sry but i dont belive any word you wrote. I cant imagine that someone who already has kid isnt grow up, we are childlish a bit all life, doubt your lady would born if you weren't grow up, or maybe you were rich spoiled person or she asked you to be with her bc she liked you alot so she sticked to that, i dont see 3rd option here. I just cant comprehend child wasnt enouh for you to grow, instead you needed Grohl song, bc you dont look like junky or heavy alcoholic person. It's 50 - 70 % willpower , of course depending on the place in the brain things can take longer. But the brain is capable of so many amazing things... Don't let anyone say : " YOU WILL NEVER COME NEAR TO XYZ..!" I know it's different in children ,but a child aged ~6 had a hemisphereectomy because of an autoimmune disorder destroying her brain. Symptoms like regressing to a toddler and up to 70 seizures a day ( which destroy brain cells every time in her severity) So they could either do nothing until she was blind, deaf, in a vegetative state OR REMOVE THE SICK HALF OF HER BRAIN BEFORE IT SPREAD TO THE OTHER HALF. She was young enough for her HALF brain to take over the tasks the renoved half was in charge. Of course it works the younger the better , but even adults can make new pathways. It only takes longer and of course hard work and a team that knows how frustrating it is sooo often when you don't see progress and loose hope. The best ones give you a hug and then challange you to proove them wrong ,that that might be your limit - with a 😈😏.

That’s amazing! Sometimes it’s as simple as just attending a concert. I love this song and I’m glad it helped you when you were going through a horrible time
Great to hear that Foo Fighters turned your life around. This is a great song! Taylor will be missed. He felt like every FF fan’s friend. I remember him saying that when he joined FF, he was intimidated by being the drummer in a band where the best drummer in the world is the lead singer and guitarist. Dave has always talked Taylor up in interviews, and gave him the confidence to become great! Dave always called Taylor the best drummer in the world. The brotherhood and culture in that band is unmatched! You can’t help but love them.
I am so glad that you are here and living your life. I remember when Kurt died back in 94 and it was devastating. Hearing about Taylor is just as awful. But, I'm grateful for the gifts Kurt and Taylor gave us. And God bless Dave Grohl.

One of the songs that helped me through the grief of losing my significant other to illness many years ago. Maybe one day it will be healing to Dave and the boys, too. ♡♡♡
This song helped me a lot when I was depressed in high school... now it's making me sad knowing Taylor is gone. Thank you so much, Taylor, for all of the music you helped create. You are loved and appreciated, and we will miss you dearly.
I'm not aware of all Foo Fighters songs but when I hear a song, even if it don't catches me, I just "sense" something that I miss from music today. It feels like there are so much songs about "hurt feelings", "bad moods" and depression, yeah it really seems that there can't be enough songs about depression or has to have a "message". Why is that? When I listen to music from like 50's to early 2000's ,there was always change of course, but that music was more "alive" to me. It just catches me more, was "happier" or just more epic. Today it seems that especially newer performers have rarely songs that catch me! And when then they aren't on the "big screen". I know of no rock band from the last 10 years! I really miss such music. Todays music aint got the same soul....
Rest in Peace Taylor. Foo Fighters won't be the same without you. Your genius work on the drums cannot be replaced.
Such terrible news tonight. It makes me sad for his family, the band and all the fans around the world.
Its so sad but its awesome to see everyone coming back to an iconic song to remember him. May he rest in piece.

Thanks

Its great! Stars Michael Douglas and its called *Falling Down*
That movie will put shit into perspective.
jessica beverley thanks for the reply. Ha ha
Sending you best wishes 💟

Wow dude thats really moving im sorry and I hope your doin better.
ITS TIME FOR YOU TO RUN!!!
March on brother wish you all the best

It's 50 - 70 % willpower , of course depending on the place in the brain things can take longer. But the brain is capable of so many amazing things...
Don't let anyone say : " YOU WILL NEVER COME NEAR TO XYZ..!"
I know it's different in children ,but a child aged ~6 had a hemisphereectomy because of an autoimmune disorder destroying her brain. Symptoms like regressing to a toddler and up to 70 seizures a day ( which destroy brain cells every time in her severity)
So they could either do nothing until she was blind, deaf, in a vegetative state
OR
REMOVE THE SICK HALF OF HER BRAIN BEFORE IT SPREAD TO THE OTHER HALF.

Eu não tô sabendo lidar com isso, estava contando os dias para o Lolla chegar logo, aí 2 dias antes do show, o Taylor morre. Eu chorei quando eu vi a notícia, acabou com meu final de semana.
RIP Taylor. You were amazing, and an integral part to the Foos. You will be really missed.
"Falling down" is a classic, and it's cute to see Dave Grohl mimicking Michael Douglas. Who hasn't had a though day like this? Rip Taylor.
Spot on. Michael’s best film perhaps. Way too frighteningly accurate what much of our society has become in the USA. But of course this Dave “Freakin” Grohl.
Most lovable, goofball rocker ever.🤪🤙🎭💪🏽🙌🤙🤜🤛
@@japan906 Such a great film. I must have watched it a dozen times. Piece by piece the script is brilliant as well as Michael's performance. Coming from a dude born in '85 💕✊
RIP Taylor. Good comment, man.
@@AntonGully Falling Down is my favorite Joel Schumacher film.
I just made the connection between the movie and this today!
this song just resonates with so many people, I am a young lad who just actually started to really listen to these guys songs. Man these just all hit hard
I have been listening to this song for years and just today the lyrics hit me.
I will take action, thank you foo fighters 🙏 🥲
inspired you to walk everyday too?
Yes :D
At least to shower, get my mail, do my powerwork, try to set up all needed papers, pull the nail out - no matter how much it bleeds - to not only walk but dance again. Sacrifices. Small ones while living with major depression and 12 other things
{Enjoy}
Walk
Foo Fighters
Lyrics
A million miles away
Your signal in the distance
To whom it may concern
I think I lost my way
Getting good at starting over
Every time that I return
Learning to walk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?
Learning to talk again
Can't you see I've waited long enough?
Where do I begin?
🎶🎵
Do you remember the days?
We built these paper mountains
Then sat and watched them burn
I think I found my place
Can't you feel it growing stronger
Little conquerors
Learning to walk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?
Learning to talk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?
Now,
For the very first time
Don't you pay no mind
Set me free, again
To keep alive, a moment at a time
That's still inside, a whisper to a riot
The sacrifice, the knowing to survive
The first decline, another state of mind
I'm on my knees, I'm praying for a sign
Forever, whenever, I never wanna die
I never wanna die
I never wanna die
I'm on my knees, I never wanna die
I'm dancing on my grave
I'm running through the fire
Forever, whenever
I never wanna die
I never wanna leave
I'll never say goodbye
Forever, whenever
Forever, whenever
Learning to walk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Where do I begin?
Learning to talk again
Can't you see I've waited long enough?
Where do I begin?
Learning to walk again
I believe I've waited long enough
Learning to talk again
Can't you see I've waited long enough?

Great song! Great band!
"Falling down" is a great movie!
Thank you!!! I couldn’t remember the name of the movie. Great tribute to it.
I’m embarrassed that it took me until the burger scene to realize what was going on with the reference lol
@@jjrob7220 great ripoff
It is a great movie. This is a great song.
This song hits home now that Taylor is gone. Dave has gone through so much heart ache. But he manages to be stronger and his love of music helps him keep going. RIP Taylor💔
i remember watching this mv when i was a kid and being so fascinated with it, their music is still as amazing as it used to be. foo fighters has a special place in my heart

I have watched this video over and over again, and there are no better music videos than the Foo Fighters!!!!!!!! JS😃 Love them all.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I dedicate this song to Dave Grohl and fellow band members as they learn to walk again. RIP Taylor!
I totally agree
Back in 2018 i was suicidal, all i wanted was to die. but going to the foo fighters gig here in buenos aires in march 2018 was one of the best moments of my life, and when they played this song, i just couldnt held it and cry. this song is one of the reasons why am still alive, it help more than any f...king shirk could have. Waking up this saturday with the devasting news of taylor hawkins death destroyed me, but i couldnt stop thaking dave, taylor, pat and the rest of the guys of foo fighters to motivate me in that horrible time in my life. THANK YOU FOO FIGHTERS, and rest easy taylor, you will be missed.
That’s amazing! Sometimes it’s as simple as just attending a concert. I love this song and I’m glad it helped you when you were going through a horrible time
You are loved!
I, for one, am very very glad you’re still here. Much love!!
I am so glad that you are here and living your life. I remember when Kurt died back in 94 and it was devastating. Hearing about Taylor is just as awful. But, I'm grateful for the gifts Kurt and Taylor gave us. And God bless Dave Grohl.
This song means so much tonight. My son is going to rehab in the morning. Learning to walk again. Pray.
how is he doing? hope everything is allright
He is on the hump right now. Called last night discouraged but we are going out to see him next week. He is strong and fighting. Thank you so much!

One of the best songs of all time period.
Agreed.
Good video aswell
You kids know that this video is inspired by the Michael Douglas film, FALLING DOWN, right?
Yes
Also NF Grindin
