Suicide survival is tough. It's often done in isolation; what can people say? But suicide disrupts the ground we walk on, the sense we can count on life. That was my experience with suicide. I "moved on" and put it on the back burner. Unfortunately, I couldn't/ didn't face my emotions of guilt, anger, shock and more. 20 years later, that suicide affected my acceptance of other natural deaths, and being unable to control circumstances. I hope you will seek counseling help or a support group, I didn't. The suicide discolored the joy and spontaneity I would have had in life. At least talk and share, till you know you are okay. @@fembot521 it is ACTUALLY. My Pepaw passed on New Years Eve and music has always in my 39 years been what I've turned to. Taylor is on the Bowie spectrum for me because Bowie passed a few months after my Memaw. So, before you spout off stupid shit, have some sympathy and common sense.
I appreciate how I have gotten to follow David Grohl's immense journey of loss, rebirth and reflection throughout his career. It's made his music so deep and memorable for me personally. Thanks David.
Did everyone see Taylor Hawkins son at the tribute for his dad? Shane is 16 years old. He is the best drummer I’ve ever seen! Taylor taught his son to play the drums! Shane your dad lives on in you. Your a part of him and those drum sticks suit you well. Your dad is watching over you now. You’ve made him very very proud!!❤
He played on My Hero and I just about lost it. That kid was so good and making his dad so proud I can’t imagine losing a parent that young. That kid was playing his heart out

Foo Fighters have always had a very "spacey" vibe to their songs. You can hear it in Everlong, My Hero, Learn To Fly, and this song. I think it's a very unique quality to their songs.
This music was the favorite of my brother, he passed away this year in january 24, there is'nt a day where I do not remember him or all the times we listened to this song or the last time we were together, I love you forever and I'll always miss you brother, be with god and someday we will be back to each others arms. @@patriciamays8873 you made this comment, the only comment and just before the passing of the Foo fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Ironic how life works and tragic the news of his passing RIP to a terrific drummer
Foo Fighters are refreshing ,that they actually make true music in the vein of rock and roll. This is the closest to 70's music i"ve heard for a good 20 years ... Go Foo Fighters !!!!!!62 year old rocker.
Saw them perform this song on Saturday Night Live on TV. Dave Chappelle was hosting. Never really got into the Foo Fighters but I like their name. Seeing them on the show that night was like a religious experience. Dave Grohl comes out singing acapella while the keyboards are playing. Very ethereal, I now have much respect for the Foo Fighters. Sorry about the news of their drummers passing Taylor Hawkins. Very talented what a shame and so young.
Glorious. I used to see Nirvana when I worked at the BBC years ago. They were so young, bless them. At the time, there wasn't much else out there anything near as good as their music, they certainly made an impression on me at the time, it was groundbreaking stuff. And now we're blessed with the Foo Fighters. Such fantastic music. We are so lucky to have the anthem of our youth right here to keep with us as we travel through life, through the ups and downs. This song is relevant in these difficult times, and a beacon of light to show mankind's resilience and strength. Thank you Foo Fighters. Love you x
I was 32 years old when this song debuted. It’s only 22 years old. I’m listening to music from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, and 20’s. If it’s good music then I’m listening to it.
Kurt Cobain is proud of you Dave Grohl and I also thank you for doing so many masterpieces that the whole world likes you are a great star .... a great singer
This is such an amazingly beautiful, empowering and reassuring song. Its helped me through innumerable challenges, even to this day. Thank you all. God bless everyone.
Mt daughter introduced me to the FF about 20 years ago, just when this song was first released. I was hooked! Since then I have been to see them, with her, at all of their UK concerts including the Taylor Hawkins tribute. I will never get tired to listening to their music and watching these phenomenal videos.
I'll never forget buying the first foofighters album and telling all my friends about it. They all thought i was crazy, but hear we are twenty years later.
I still remember being a little boy and watching this on Rage at 3am on a Saturday while my parents didn’t know I was awake. Nothing made me feel the way this song did back then, the emotional lyrics in this song made me want to try again every time I failed in everything I did. Today, it’s a reminder that life continues and that I’ll never stop giving until the end. Thanks Foo Fighters, legendary material! 👌
It's time's like These I need the foo fighters thanks 👍 foo fighters you rock I am rob Collins and it's time's like These I need a song as good as this. 🤠 Thanks
Enjoyed this song in my high school years but it never really made sense to me. 8 years later it finally makes sense. I was a wreck when I was forced to drop out of school at 18. And I've tried since then to finish school, but was always divided between 4 career paths. In the end, I gave up on them all. Now however, I get it. I feel like I can stand up again and be a new day rising. The stars of my sky went out but now I'll learn to live and love again. Make new stars. Cause I'm still in the living and as long as I am here, I remember that there is always another chance for that future tomorrow I dream of, that is so far away. It may not be the same dream I dreamed of way before, but I can still see me being happy. Thank you song, for indirectly reminding me what I forgot so long ago. Thanks forever.
I held this song so close, as my 15 year old was fighting her last Heart surgery battle and lost. She would not have it any other way that we keep her alive.
RAGE ON BROTHER, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT 24 years old, in a sea of older people reminiscing or re-finding old sound and soul, I want to say after everyone here is gone, after I’m gone, these melodies will carry on and children from the next generation will carry them down, feeling the same chills we felt deep in our souls
A comment like this is all is needed to get me through another week of revolving around the Sun, on a rock that can be just as scary as it is beautiful.

The stretch from March 2020 to June 2021 was the longest I had gone without seeing a concert. A friend of mine called me up and offered me her extra Foo Fighters ticket. They were playing the first full capacity show at MSG since the shut downs. I had never gotten to see Foo Fighters or a show at MSG. They started with a slow version of this song, and from the moment Dave screamed out the first "I!" I had tears of joy streaming down my face. 15 months without live music. 15 months cooped up in my house, only leaving for work. 15 months being scared to be near other people. All melting away in an instant. Might be the best show I've ever seen.

+Caryn Francese WOW! What a great first gig! :)
it hits really hard. it's like a family member just passed. RIP Taylor.
That’s how I feel
My feelings exactly, I can't stop crying! I'm still in shock!
Amen, it is. Very well said, my friend. 💔😭
Have you ever had a family member pass? It’s not like that at all.
I’m 92 years of age and nothing greases my bones like a good ole foo fighter song
Have you tried ky jelly
For me this song will never go out of style no matter how much time passes
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Absolutely one of their top 5 songs, if not the best.
That kid was playing his heart out
RIP Taylor Hawkins, such an amazing drummer and spirit that will always live on through his legendary performances
I'm Really Miss Him
I read he had passed and had to look up how old he was. In my head he was 30 ish. I am nearly 60. Finally figuring out that life is not guaranteed.
@@JeffOehlsen At least not, when you take too much drugs

1:48 Taylor just can’t stop moving to the beat, that’s how you know drumming always flowed through his veins. 🖤💔🖤
My anthem at this moment in my life, shit has been hard this last year, but I am getting through it and I am learning to live again. Stay strong and weather the storm.
God bless you brow.
+Patrick Felipe fuck that, give up, jump, and get it over with. you never know what's coming through the tunnel towards you in the dark
+Jack Winemiller you fucking idiot lmao
All the best my friend

Descansa en paz Taylor, no se como describir el gran vacio que dejas, eras o bueno aun seguiras siendo uno de mis heroes, gracias por tanto, hasta siempre.
Foo Fighters have always had a very "spacey" vibe to their songs. You can hear it in Everlong, My Hero, Learn To Fly, and this song. I think it's a very unique quality to their songs.
A foo fighter actually is a term for UFO
this song for me fits deeply driving a car without destiny or a long motor road bike to discover the world and feels that is possible
Whatever anyone says, this is the most 2000's looking music video ever made.
The original video was epic
This video was made by Liam Lynch
Such a devastating loss. Gone way too soon! May the Foo Fighters find the strength to keep making some amazing music again in the future!
The band is done forever.
It’s so god damn hard watching and hearing your favourite band, knowing they’ll never sound the same again.

thank you so much for finding the video. i am so angry with fox for not letting the foo fighters play at the Emmy's.

RIP Taylor, two years ago and still miss you! 💔🙏🏻🥁
Taylor Dies Young.
11 years later, and this song is speaking to me more than it ever did before.
it was actually released in 2002. don't go by the upload date. TH-cam should make the release date mandatory on all music videos.
@@rtsjunk0617 Either way, I'm 35 and this song has always meant something to me.
The deep bass tones in this song have always haunted me. Love it.
This music was the favorite of my brother, he passed away this year in january 24, there is'nt a day where I do not remember him or all the times we listened to this song or the last time we were together, I love you forever and I'll always miss you brother, be with god and someday we will be back to each others arms. This song is what made me become a fan of this band!
Here not only because of the inauguration but also because this takes me back to when I was 21, im 40 now. Loved this song then and now!! Forgotten gem 💕
Inauguration? More like a National Day of Mourning turning into a day of constipation.
This song basically saved my life back then…….and still does……. Soo Gooood……
I think this is one of the greatest songs ever made.
Agreed
Yeah I'd definitely put it up there. Really reminds you to never take a moment for granted. Good for healing from a loss.
This song was written just after the 9/11 attacks. Feels relevant again in 2020.

@@patriciamays8873 you made this comment, the only comment and just before the passing of the Foo fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Ironic how life works and tragic the news of his passing RIP to a terrific drummer
SMOKIN 🔥🔥🔥🔥
First time I ever heard this and it's awesome
Yes !!
Foo Fighters are refreshing ,that they actually make true music in the vein of rock and roll. This is the closest to 70's music i"ve heard for a good 20 years ... Go Foo Fighters !!!!!!62 year old rocker.
Keep rocking, men!
Thank you for posting this- has a cool sound simular to Learning to Fly.
I love both versions of this...the acoustic one makes me reflect more on times like these.
Love you x
That’s awesome, did you get to meet any of the members of nirvana in person
I was 32 years old when this song debuted. It’s only 22 years old. I’m listening to music from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, and 20’s. If it’s good music then I’m listening to it.
Seems like 2 yrs old . Goodmusic just does it

Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
When they released their first album it was like breath of fresh air for rock and roll. Rest in Power, man.
This is one of the most beautiful songs that foo fighters has made rest in peace Tyler he will be missed
This song makes me cry. Such a beautiful piece that’s so heavy in the back! I love it!!!!

Mt daughter introduced me to the FF about 20 years ago, just when this song was first released. I was hooked! Since then I have been to see them, with her, at all of their UK concerts including the Taylor Hawkins tribute. I will never get tired to listening to their music and watching these phenomenal videos.

I love goo fighters tbh and also your my Pookie Dave
I was 15 when this was released, in 2003... Man, I miss hanging out with my friends after school while listening to Foo Fighters.

It's time's like These I need the foo fighters thanks 👍 foo fighters you rock I am rob Collins and it's time's like These I need a song as good as this. 🤠 Thanks
This has to be one of the BEST songs ever!
Just finish school man.
Watching them perform this on snl right now and I have chills 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I held this song so close, as my 15 year old was fighting her last Heart surgery battle and lost. She would not have it any other way that we keep her alive.
RAGE ON BROTHER, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT
24 years old, in a sea of older people reminiscing or re-finding old sound and soul, I want to say after everyone here is gone, after I’m gone, these melodies will carry on and children from the next generation will carry them down, feeling the same chills we felt deep in our souls
A comment like this is all is needed to get me through another week of revolving around the Sun, on a rock that can be just as scary as it is beautiful.
This song is so appropriate at times like these!
i hope you learn to live again I've been giving and giving again.

Did you expect this to show up on inauguration day
The stretch from March 2020 to June 2021 was the longest I had gone without seeing a concert.
