Doesn’t the swash plate push the plunger and spring up and down and the plunger pushes the cartilage? Actual swash plate doesn’t come directly into contact with the cartridge when you tattoo. Swash plate pushes little plastic part then that plastic part pushes the actual cartilage. Mechanical drag of that mechanism should be measured against force put out by carriage needle. Mast flip style mechanism hits even harder than both of these

I guess I could have explained better, all I'm trying to explain here is that the will doesn't grind up and down the push rods as some people claimed. Also this swash played is direct to the cartridge in some tiny machines. This system is usually pretty damn stable and very soft hitting. I never said this was a hard hit... as it will lever be. Perhaps with 4.2mm stroke and above on a direct system. What I'm trying to say is, it takes less force from the motor to travel a whe stroke with the swash wheel than the dire t system.

We are all different cause I absolutely hate "drunkin wheel" machines.....I've tried several from cheap to high dollar and im just a direct drive guy hands down just better in my opinion.but every artist is different and we all do different styles of work as well.

Right on, most motors are rated from 5000 to 6000 hours of work. I have a bunch of replacement motors but all my Chinese machines seem to hold up pretty well. I don’t like this swash wheel system just because it’s way heavier at the top than other direct drive systems. But a bunch of people claimed this system will brake cartridges and waste the swash wheel as it scrapes. But as it shows in the video, it doesn’t .

The tube has a different push rod and it’s not pushing the needle cartridge itself that’s why you need to put the top back on
