Good call on the juice. I always wondered how to get the fruit off the bottom. My mother use to make Jello with fruit as a kid i never ask questions, i just ate.
My mother taught me to let the jello semi set, then take the drained fruit and mix it around and put it back in fridge. This is supposed to set with the fruit all evenly mixed with the jello. It works!
With all due respect, the water should be ice cold not from the tap. Secondly, the gelatin should chill and be slightly thickened before adding the fruit not put in right after the cold water. That is what helps to keep the gelatin in suspension.
Thank you for explaining how to do it! I always wanted to make it! Now I know how. Very thankful. And yeah my favourite it peaches in a can. The fresh ones are just so hard and not that good!
odd you should say that... i did have the same question years ago and shot a 5 second video. no one watched it so i turned it off. i turned it back on now so if you search for 'finished product', it's there. someday i'll find a way to splice it in
Thank you so much for this. My husband loves the mandarin oranges in gel fruit cups for work lunches, but they're expensive (and usually out of stock). I followed a recipe online and the jello never set properly. I'm going to try again with your method😊
+Melissa0774 you could either puree a small amount of fruit and mix with water to get equivalent amount, or use whatever fruit juice you like (not pineapple, it won't gel)
+danrt50 So, how many cups of juice do you use, or how much water do you add to it, if you're using canned fruit juice? You added water to the juice in the video, but you didn't say how much.
I bought 2 boxes of Jell O pineapple flavor. I cut some cubes of natural pineapple into small tubs, I did this same process (you don't have to study a master's degree to prepare jellies of this type either) in 750 ml of mineral water and surprisingly, it NEVER solidified. A little frustrated the next day, after having the tubs in the fridge for more than 12 hours, so as not to throw away the preparation I went to the supermarket for a couple more packages of flavorless gelatin from this same brand, I poured the previous mixture into a saucepan and I added the 8 packets of unflavored Jell O and it still didn't help. It was always liquid. I guess that the takeaway about all this is: I will never ever buy any Jell O brand preparations again.
@@danrt50 I wanted to apologize for my previous comment. I felt very frustrated. I was researching a bit about jellies and this curious annihilating effect that the pineapple has when it comes into contact with it, preventing gelation. However, I don't know how my mother managed to break the laws of chemistry, but I remember a couple of times that she prepared my brothers and my pineapple jelly with natural pineapple chunks for snacks (and we are a family of seven sibling) I have asked my older brothers to be sure of that, just in case my memory deceives me, and they know It was pineapple in syrup, but no, they also claim that it was fresh fruit, among other things because my parents never bought canned fruit. Thank you very much for the information dear friendI really appreciate the time you took to write me the comment. By the way, I don't remember reading any note about this on the jellies packaging.
literally an instructable for like gelatine jelly, like children's jelly, that toddlers are capable of making. Grown adult Americans don't even know how to make Jelly. Seriously what is wrong with Americans? it;s pretty simple.. YOU ADD HOT WATER!! my god!
*Eleven years later and this informational video is still relevant as ever. Thanks for sharing.* 😊

@@Cherylllm Thank you so much. This is just the advice I was looking for 😊.
Thanks for video.
My grandmother always made it with fruit cocktail. Love it that way.
Thank you for this. My fiancé loves the mandarin orange slices in jello.

Cadmar Business Suite make your own video or stfu
@@kwolf43 She is right though. For fruit on top and all mixed well.
Why are you watching instructional videos on jello making if you are a jello master?
Thanks for the tip. I'll be using your method in a few minutes.

Like it! The only comment I have is maybe put the canned fruit in the refrigerator for an hour and then the liquid will be cold.
who else wanted to find out how to turn fruit into jello and this was the first result
lol
Just what I wanted/needed to know! Thank you!
Thanks a whole lot I couldn't quite get this right lol but with your help it came out well!! THANKS I will follow you for now on!
@ZeeJen didn't have time, sorry, was working on a 2nd movie. it looks pretty much the same except the fruit is all at the top.

Wish you showed the final product to see how it set up.

I prefer to make it in 1/2 pint ball jars for single servings. Leave a little room on top for whipped topping...
So it was the 2 hot cups of water fir dissolving and juice plus water to equal 2 cups as well?????
thanks for this vid…was hoping to see how it turned out
No end result picture?
Thank you! Just made one today.
Fun to make bubbly jello with ginger ale or sparkling water
Mmmmmm jello with fruit!!! I put whip cream on top too
I was told to allow the jello to thicken a bit in the fridge before adding the fruit. I wonder the difference 🤔
All this time and I never knew to use the juice thanks for posting.
And I agree a final picture of product would have been nice
Thanks for your video. I was wondering how to get the fruit to float:)
So cool
👇this guy appreciates this.
Awesome just made it I'll send a pic
Thank you!
Thank u
What will work in place of the juice if you don't use canned fruit?

Melissa0774 2 cups total volume of liquid, water or juice. i didn't measure the juice, just topped it up to 2 cups with water
Oh i like this make and i happy to watch this
Cool
And if you want to use fresh fruit without canned juice? Will the fruit still float?
Yay awesome thank u
Danrt 50 is this like the sour gummy worms and I love gell-o and with fruit
no, this is just regular jell-o with canned fruit
underated
Oh i like to make this
"Adds a little bit o' sugar" - LOL... Jello is 99% pure sugar. Good video though.
use sugar free...

actually it's the natural pineapple, contains bromelain, that's why it didn't gel. i think there's actually a caution on the box
