As an Aussie 🇦🇺 I can confirm the BnE pizza was something you got from a pizzeria early morning around 1-3 am after a skinful at the pub or club. It's usually made with a fresh base, bbq sauce, mozz cheese, diced bacon, very thinly sliced onion and a littley whisked egg poured over and around the bacon and onion. A sprinkle of mixed dry herbs. Whashed down with a can of 2 Stroke 'Coke' Thanks for the demo on an Aussie favorite 🍕👍🤤😀 Cheers.
@BackyardChef No worries. BnE pizza can be eaten anytime of the day, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The HP sauce is not something Aussies would generally use on a BnE pizza. Tobasco or a drizzle more of the bbq sauce would be the go.
Aussie here, yes, you nailed it! If you want to use a fresh made base, just don't cook the ingredients first. If you want a runny egg, put the egg in when it has about 5 minutes to go (on a fresh base). Yum yum yum!
Wanted to ask a person from Italy a question. But I know everyone has their own views on this. And obviously it depends on the pizza your making. But do you like or not like Pineapple on pizza. I'm an Aussie & I LOVE ❤️ it.
Well done. You made it perfectly. Its quite common for us Aussies to make their own pizzas using even flat bread as the base. Any edible food is a go on pizza.
Thirty years ago I had the Dublin Special in O'Connell street. The size of a cartwheel, cheese, tomato sauce, black pudding, white pudding, bacon, sausage and an egg in the middle. Absolutely a winner. God bless the Irish.
Hi Rik, Aussie pizza is my favourite pizza but a lot of pizza shops won’t make them for some reason. Thought you may find this interesting. TFS. Tomato, cheese, ham, bacon and eggs. Sounds like breakfast, right? Not to millions of Australians who know the combo by its classic name: Aussie Pizza. The "Aussie" was invented by the late Salvatore Della Bruna, the Picasso of Australia's pizza heritage who established this country's first pizza parlour. As soon as I get home from my sons place in a couple of weeks I’m definitely going to make one myself, you’ve made me really hungry lol.

That looks delicious, Rik! Quick and easy. I'd even be happy with just the pan of bacon, onion, and ham! 😃 Pizza crust and melted cheese is a bonus! Thanks for the idea! 💜
my deep freezer is hiding four large pre-made fast cook pizza bases complete with packaged tomato sauce. Now I know what to cook with these. I am a breakfast person and a bacon and egg and cheese scramble for breakfast with perhaps the last couple slices of home-made bread or the last hamburger bun lingering in the refrigerator. My roommate never eats breakfast so I will be able to enjoy this Aussie Pizza feast all to myself.
As an Aussie I made these when I was much younger on whatever I had in the fridge after a night out, thick piece of bread tomato sauce, thin sliced ham, grated cheese then in the oven for a few minutes, take out put on the egg then return and cook till ready. Pizza bases would work if you had them. Thanks. This same process could cook any type of pizza with the whatever you have, chicken pieces, left over tandoori chicken etc..
As an Australian, this needs pineapple. Compuslory! Great meal for a breakfast or lunch. I'll give you another tip, if you don't have a pizza base use a large tortilla or sandwich wrap. Cooks faster and is lower in carbs.
Bloody good recipe, getting away from the boring 'normal' pizza. As you know, living in Thailand (rural) can pose a problem for getting ingredients but this is very gettable for me. Keep bashing away at the normal recipes mate---it is inspirational. My Mrs. doesn't eat meat so I get to eat all of the bugger too!
