Idk if this is something you've found yet but according to Proud Music Library, this guy named Craig Austin uploaded the fnaf music box songs and much more being listed as the arranger. The Mangle's Quest is under the title "Bright Parlor Music Box Theme" and Chica's Party is under "Fairy Dance Music Box Theme" ! I've tried to find out more about Craig Austin to see if he actually was the arranger, but it's such a common name that it's proving difficult.
"Arranged by" Craig Austin, Sound Ideas, S.I. Publishing, SOCAN are the keywords I've been chasing. That led me to a Fandom wiki page for Brian Nimens which lists Craig Austin as an alias, and says he's the founder of Sound Ideas. Also has an IMDB page under Craig Riley. Sound Ideas also acquired Sound Dogs and Brian Nimens is currently president. Still no info on the actual music box or title, but they do solicit and purchase music and sound effects globally, and they specifically request rarer recordings.
My dad's pretty well versed in classical music, so I decided to run these by him and get his thoughts: Mangle's Quest Marked it as classical period due to its large amount of trills, though definitely simpler than the famous classical composers like Mozart (which makes sense since it's labeled parlor music, which tended to be simple but flashy to entertain guests). He also said it was reminiscent of CP Bach's sonatas with variations Chica's Party Said it sounded late baroque, early classical. Reminiscent of Scarlatti's keyboard sonatas Both of the periods he gave for the songs are a lot earlier than 1805/1870, but it's possible the dates on the stock label is just when the music boxes were created, and had that date marked on their boxes. Either way, wanted to toss in another potential lead.
"Fox Hunter’s Gallop by Marion" is the name for mangle's Quest tune (yes I got it from her twitter ) EDIT : we don't know the last name of the composer
My grandmother was a music teacher and she loves old classical and sometimes not so popular music. Especially if they are franch. The uncompressed version of "Mangle's Quest" sonds very familiar. As if I have listened to it before. There is a small chance that she recognised it, but, to be honest, I have a history of misremembering things maybe this just one more of those situations.
Same here, Like I heard it from a music box before (Like hearing it in snow globe/ music box at a thrift store). The bells make me believe its a Christmasy/ Winter sounding song but it could be the bells playing tricks on my ears. I dont think I've heard the Chica one before, even if it's sped up in FNAF 3.
What did she listen to it on. If you still have access to her stuff it would be worth checking out. If nothing else it might give you some good memories.
I don’t fully bet on this being the correct guess however I think “Swiss wedding song” could be a plausible candidate for chicas mini game, however I believe the one in the mini game is a bit sped up, I could be wrong but with a couple listens it’s strangely similar, or I might just be crazy.
I thought that Chica's was sped up too, which may have the yodeling theory possible, it's possible by slowing the original file down we can make something out but it could also just be a really fast song.
My mom would put on baby Einstein tapes for me, but one time there was one with a plush snake that freaked me out. Instead of taking a nap, I cried for 2 hours
Music box collector here who's also a fnaf fan! This peaked my interest and I also want to add that for the Chica music box, it may also sound 'tinny' due to being in a larger tin box, or a tin cookie jar! They're pretty common on the lids of cookie tins and it has a similar echo that mine do. Music boxes can be pre-set to all different speeds, I have 3 music boxes of all playing swan lake at different speeds! Music boxes do play faster when they are wound very high, so there is a high chance that the song playing isn't the full one, and could have been cropped. (I am aware that the clip in the video is cropped, but the full one could also be).
i would be really interested to see that "history of fnafs music" video btw. maybe once you get a better lead on where these two songs come from, you could include it in a video like that. as a "music nerd" myself, this kind of stuff really interests me, so id LOVE a video like that

I own a music box that can play this song :) IDK if that was already a known fact, just wannted to share. It might be a good idea to post this vid as well as the 2 songs on r/lostmedia. They tend to work pretty fast and have gone to pretty impressive lengths to find stuff in the past. Personally I’ll be asking a couple of Swiss people I know if they recognize the song.
I myself had a similar Music Box investigation thing back in 2021. Me and my mom were doing some digging through my late grandmother's things and found a music box, the kind that would normally get stuffed into a teddy bear. It had a really cute and charming tune, but I don't know what song it was. My first clue was looking up the manufacturer of the Music Box, then eventually I'd find their website, and they even had a list of songs for every music box they made for all the dolls that have them. I eventually looked up the year that was listed on the music box itself and looked at all the ones made in that year, and a couple of songs came up. I listened to them all and they sounded nothing alike. But then I tried something, I looked up one of the songs on TH-cam, I played it at 2x speed, and I had the biggest freaking AHA! moment of my entire life. It was a song called "Somewhere, My Love (Lara's Theme from "Doctor Zhivago")" by Ray Conniff. Just felt like sharing my own music box experience after watching this video. Excellent work!
0:39 my parents had a bunch of CDs of that!!! never thought id see anyone else bring it up!!! some extra info, it also had segments with puppets (i remember one where rondo alla turca played in the background while a blue (?) puppet tried to cook; also remember another one where the same blue puppet saw a female one and went "oh-la-la", which also showed up as text on the screen) anyways sorry for this but that made me start remembering and yeah

13:52 who is that loser?? jokes aside, great video and idea, i never thought much about the origin of the tunes, and always just assumed they were standard music box songs. i owned the golden freddy music box as a child and don't recall ever hearing the original piece before, so this was really cool to learn about
i had a music box as a child that looked like a little red barn-house thing and played the EXACT fnaf 2 music box noise. it made the games a lot scarier to me tbh.
So, definitely heard the Mangle's Quest song in a movie once. I can't remember what movie, when it was made or what it was about but I 100% do know it was in a movie. If I had to estimate WHEN it was made, possibly around 1920-1970. Obviously it'd be hard to find a song like this in such a broad time range without even a genre and I wish I could provide more info but I have absolutely 0 clue what it was called, what it was about or even a guess at the name. I was VERY young when I watched it and literally ONLY remember this song playing in it. Genuinely doubt this will help, given the broad time range and 0 other clues as to what this movie is, but I am willing to pitch in and help wherever I can. Also, should probably mention, I've seen a few people mention Balto (The movie) as a possible place the Mangle's Quest one came from as a similar song appears in Balto but, after literally watching the movie ever single Christmas since I was born, I know for a fact it's not that song. Might be worth looking into the composer of some of Balto's music though, James Horner. Hope literally any of this helps, if anyone wants to ask me anything about the first movie or about Balto (Though I doubt Balto'd help) I'm more than willing to answer questions. Discord; maramori
Bro the Swiss Music Snuff Boxes being decorative containers that were used to hold sniffing tobacco is just wild. Fr though, I think it would be really cool if you do make a video going on a brief history with FNAF's OST's and it's evolution throughout the series, I would also love to see a video about FNAF's history with voiceacting, trust me Scott has had a roller coaster with VA in recent installments that I think it would not be worth not making a video of. Also so close to 200K!!! I'm so proud of how far you've come with your YT journey.
Bro with an appreciation for the calssical songs that scott put into the game and loves what it adds to the expirence and going into sounddogs and try to find the same music boxes and the original recordings, I really apprictate this video. mostly from fnaf 3. The feelings it gives me is undescribable
Could be insane but I swear I recognize the Mangle one in particular and my brain wants to attach it to one of those weird looking mall ride attractions for little kids where you stick a quarter in and the horse or car or whatever rocks up and down
Okay, I was just casually searching through the Wikipedia page for Swiss composers to see if anyone could have fit the bill to have written the Chica's Party piece in 1805 and I found Edouard Du Puy, a Swiss composer who wrote an opera in 1806. It's called Youth and Folly and it's technically a singspiel, or a type of Germanic opera that was typically folk-like in nature. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but the first piece of the first act "Johan, Johan, Johan" is SCARILY similar to the Chica song. It makes sense that this piece would be from an opera considering so many of the other pieces on the music box stock album are from operas.
@ba-bass It wasn't in that movement specifically, but the music in that piece sounds very similar to the music box recording of Chica's Party. I think it's very likely that Edouard Dupoy wrote the original piece, I just haven't identified it yet.
Oh hell yes new bizabizow video!!! One thing I realized the other day and I'm surprised to not see anyone point out is that the Midnight Motorist theme is very likely a chiptune cover of Hitchin' A Ride by Green Day (the lyrics also fit), it could be a coincidence though
You could go through your watch history afterwards and delete all the songs you listened to. That’s what I do after a research. I also delete the search term from my search.
Fascinating that these are still missing. I've heard these various songs used throughout the series - several in Help Wanted, and in fangames and video content like VHS horror stuff - so I'm curious, but doubtful, that any of those creators might've stumbled across the song elsewhere and gotten it from there. Given most of them retain the filters added for the original games, though, it's most likely they're files passed around from the original decompilations.
the whole music box concept was meant to be a miniature orchestra in a box and thus had a lot of popular opera songs which lead into street organs doing the same to attract crounds which then lead to automated music boxes and street organs (which is what alot of the recordings are done on, automated music boxes or street organs)
Around a place I used to visit, there was a small ice cream truck that would play classical music box tunes instead of the basic ice cream truck theme. It included the fnaf 3 happiest game minigame theme and I also think the bad ending theme for the same game. Genuinely looking into ice cream truck themes is a good lead as it seems that theres an overlap in the kind of music in the audio library.
Great vid. I feel like the music in FNaF is mostly not talked about, cause the main draw is the lore and such, which is why I'd like to see a video about the FNaF music history.

wait, holy fuck. I've never played a fnaf game in my life, but the minute you pulled up flight of the swans, I immediately recognized it as the song that would play in the music box I had as a kid. the version from fnaf also sounds remarkably similar to the one I had growing up. wild
Also idk if this helps, but the Mangle’s Quest song is familiar to my mom. She said that her grandmother, who has been deceased for well over 20 years had a music box similar to it. We have ZERO idea where on Earth it is however.
the hit of nostalgia i get every time i hear the music box themes in fnaf 3 or any of the music box themes that haven't been used repeatedly since their original use in the games
Don't know if someone will agree with me, but the Chica's Party song sounds sped up? I went to the upload of the song on TH-cam and putting it in half speed made it sound a lot more natural, for whatever reason. And also I found a certain style of music called Ranz des Vaches, which does fit in with the time frame of 1805. But I could just be a moron who doesn't know what he's talking about.
love this video!! I actually have a physical music box that plays flight of the swans, sounding exactly like the music box rendition in fnaf 3, and i didn't know where the song was from until now! the box belonged to my great gramma, so i am happy to get a smidge more context around it :) love you bestie
on the topic of ice cream trucks, we've had the same two or three working in my town since i was a kid and they've never changed their music - im in my late twenties now and even at work (which is several acres of land, surrounded by woods) you can hear one of them outside the property go down the road and i still look up from what im doing and think "aw man... ice cream..." The image of multiple adults bursting out of private land to stop the ice cream truck is funny to me.
1:33 the choice to use My Grandfather's Clock for the music box is so clever because the song is about a grandfather's clock in which when it stops the grandfather will die. I think it speaks for itself how this thematically connects to the game mechanic
There’s the second part of the “Bonnie’s Lullaby” music box that just sounds like a completely different piece… and it hit me when you mentioned Baby Einstein. The first half of the tune obviously Schubert, but the second section is Divertimento No. 17 in D Major by Mozart. To be more specific, especially with those growing up on Baby Einstein, it’s the spinning planets song from Baby Mozart
The song is on TH-cam under its file name and was provided to TH-cam by a different company. Switzerland has four different national languages (according to Wikipedia, those would be "German, French, Italian, and Romansh"), so it may be worthwhile to search for snuff box music boxes in those languages
ok so i DID find one of them, magles theme, in another game: lego movie the video game has a part were you build a giant music box and oince built it plays. this isnt uncommon to see fnaf music in lego also so its possible the other is in a different game
I think the best/worst part is that those tracks sound so SO familiar, like I've heard them from my Band or Choir classes years ago I wonder if someone's made music sheets of the two tracks, might be another avenue of research using the note structure or something
Thing is, I am very tempted to attempt a transcription of these. Or at least make a MIDI file out of the Spectrograph of this. Sadly can't do it, though. Got lots on my plate, already.
Ok so I don't know if my TH-cam is acting up or if my comment disappeared but look Up "Carmen Toreador Regina 50 Music Box" and it was uploaded by somebody named Elizabeth Ca. It is nearly 1 to 1 with the game version like almost uncanny how 1 to 1 it is.
I used to have a wind up music box shaped like a clock on a birdhouse about the size of your head. It would play the music box song of FNAF 2, and when I actually bottled up enough courage to watch fnaf 2 gameplay for the first time, it creeped me out so much because it just felt so... personal... every copy of fnaf 2 stingray virus 3am cuchkie chese is personalized
GREAT VIDEO!! i am a big fan of the music box songs from FNAF (3 specifically) because of how beautiful they sound in the context of the original trilogy. i was actually looking through the wiki a while back and discovered the same thing, that there's no info on those two songs. thank you for making this video, i really hope something comes from this!
I heard the song before FNAF used it. FNAF used it perfectly. Music boxes in FNAF have been used a couple of times, and I do wish we’ll hear more of them in the future.
This is really cool. Something I’ve really been wanting to find is the pipe organ sound from FNAF one. The sound has always interested me but I have no idea where it could’ve come from.
I actually have a recording of a music box that played a song I liked but didn’t know where it came from. It wasn’t at all a fnaf song, but It was in a puzzle for an escape room I went to.😭👍
This music box isn't used in Freddy's, but the "1900 Swiss Mira Music Box: Gentle Waltz" from the Music Box library is "Ah che la morte ognora" (sometimes translated to english as "Ah! I have sighed to rest me") from the opera Il Trovatore. You can find the original music box for it online, as "Miserere from Il Trovatore".
The music box songs in the early fnaf games creeped me the hell out (especially the fnaf 3 ones) I loved them They still unsettle me when I'm alone at night and I happen to hear them I still love them too
Hearing these classic FNAF songs in real life has to be one of the most cursed things ever. Like, normal people hear these songs and for them it's just a classic piece of music but for us FNAF fans they are the "silly Freddy music haha" and I love it. If I heard said songs in real life I would shit my pants and think that it was the most funny and scary thing ever.

Marked it as classical period due to its large amount of trills, though definitely simpler than the famous classical composers like Mozart (which makes sense since it's labeled parlor music, which tended to be simple but flashy to entertain guests). He also said it was reminiscent of CP Bach's sonatas with variations
Chica's Party
Said it sounded late baroque, early classical. Reminiscent of Scarlatti's keyboard sonatas
Both of the periods he gave for the songs are a lot earlier than 1805/1870, but it's possible the dates on the stock label is just when the music boxes were created, and had that date marked on their boxes. Either way, wanted to toss in another potential lead.
Someone found the Chica’s party music it is James Scott Skinner’s The fairy dance
"Fox Hunter’s Gallop by Marion" is the name for mangle's Quest tune (yes I got it from her twitter )
EDIT : we don't know the last name of the composer
Thanks, my browser started blocking Twitter after the url change.
May want to edit as it was found that the last name was found to be wrong. We don't know Marion's last name.

@@williamplayzgames8 Oh, I never knew that.

Well they do both bite
I myself had a similar Music Box investigation thing back in 2021. Me and my mom were doing some
digging through my late grandmother's things and found a music box, the kind that would normally get stuffed into a teddy bear.
It had a really cute and charming tune, but I don't know what song it was. My first clue was looking up the manufacturer of the Music Box, then eventually I'd find their website, and they even had a list of songs for every
music box they made for all the dolls that have them.
I eventually looked up the year that was listed on the music box itself and looked at all the ones
made in that year, and a couple of songs came up. I listened to them all and they sounded nothing alike.
But then I tried something, I looked up one of the songs on TH-cam, I played it at 2x speed, and I had the
biggest freaking AHA! moment of my entire life.
It was a song called "Somewhere, My Love (Lara's Theme from "Doctor Zhivago")" by Ray Conniff.
Just felt like sharing my own music box experience after watching this video. Excellent work!
Oh I know that song, it was sampled in the song Memory 52 by The Caretaker.

Also, another side note, I absolutely agree that this should've been a search sooner than now, and I'm genuinely surprised it's not O-0
Ooo interesting! I’ll at least check out that soundtrack, who knows!
@@Bizabizow I'll have a look myself again too! It might actually be a bit more similar than I originally thought :0

Here's my comment to boost yours:)
One thing I realized the other day and I'm surprised to not see anyone point out is that the Midnight Motorist theme is very likely a chiptune cover of Hitchin' A Ride by Green Day (the lyrics also fit), it could be a coincidence though
no it's just cause of the jazz key signature

I herd this in mickey mouse the carnival kid 1929 when mickey was catching the hotdog to spank it
Fascinating that these are still missing.
10:01 I shall now headcanon that Chica yodels in some of the band's performances
