I had an idea where Sonic’s alts took the approach with the NiGHTS alt and used Sonic’s body to represent a character while his cuffs represented each Chaos Emerald(beside the dark blue one since that would just be his default appearance).

Snake has a lot of potential for alts. He could have MGS2 Raidenwith the name change like Olimar and Bowser Jr, Iroqouis Pliskin (not Snake, but still), Old Snake, and of course, Big Boss (either MGS3 or MGSV) Going a Wario route and alternating between Solid Snake and Naked Snake (MGS2 and MGS3 appearances respectively) for recolors so they could have unique camos would probably be the most likely way they do it, though.
Love the ideas for Sonic. One color variation I thought would look nice is his final form in Secret Rings, the purpleish with white stripes and no pupils
I think Sonic could have an alt with the rings on his hand, and his final smash could be Darkspine Sonic. As well as a Black Knight skin with Sonic having a gauntlet whose final smash is Excalibur Sonic.
I'm really in love with the portrayal of Sonic as a streamer with the exact same chat dynamic as Jerma. Also these were really fun! I've always had problems with how the Smash alts have been done for ages so it's really cool to see a series that's really gonna dive into it. Even more cool to see it's from a more "realistic" NIntendo-ish perspective so it's gonna be a lot different compared to the take in stuff like Project M. I do wanna mention that Kirby DOES have an alt that references a character who is playable in game- That being his Meta Knight alt, but that's arguably a special case since Meta Knight himself doesn't have a maskless alt in-game, or really any reference to it whatsoever. Also Bowser should have an alt for Dark Bowser from Mario and Luigi I don't know why he has a Blueser alt and not one for Dark Bowser- OH HEY THAT'S ME IN THE CREDITS!
@@LuigiFan04 Yeah !! Bowser's brother is officially referred to as Blueser, so that's who I was referencing specifically It is really interesting that there's actually unused Blueser sprites in All-Stars, I wonder what made them decide to drop the guy when redoing the Lost Levels
"A skin cannot reference another series." If you ever get to them, I would suggest making a (partial?) exception to this for the Xenoblade characters. They already have what are probably Xenogears and Xenosaga references in Ultimate, they're just kinda subtle because Nintendo doesn't own those IPs. Blade is a spiritual successor to Saga, which is itself a spiritual successor to Gears, so they're sometimes considered part of a larger meta-series. I think that's fair game as long as the Gears and Saga references maintain plausible deniability.
For Samus I think her alts are fine but they should have gone the extra mile and have each color alt actually resemble the design of the suits she wears in those respective games and replace the green and black and yellow alts with a suit based on Metroid Prime's phazon suit and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption's PED suit respectively.
Tbh, the Green Samus is a reference to the previous Smash games, as a sort of tradition in the games. Though with the new suit she gets in Dread, replacing it with the Metroid Suit is probably the best way to go for that one
As a Young Link main, seeing you IMMEDIATELY pick him for this series outing filled me with such joy, because I always thought he should have some Majora's Mask reference, but strangely never got.
Have you ever thought about remaking Chrom's alts? They're all aggressively mid and dull, to the point where 3 of them (default, purple and black) are almost indistinguishable from each other
I swear, I feel like all his alts change him in some way but I find it so hard to pick any of them. Whenever I pick Chrom, I scroll through his colours, realise they all feel like they're just there and go default.
That e character alone is going to take a long time to draw so expect quite the wait Seriously he’s just got so,e really weird over detailed cloths from the tattered cape, overplayed metal and weird cuff like things on his legs
Great costumes! You're scratching that itch of missed opportunities I have when it comes to smash alts!! I'm a Bowser main, and something that always feels criminal everytime that I boot up smash bros is that there aren't any interesting alts for his character besides recolors. I really wanted to see something like Dry Bowser or Dark Bowser from Bowser's Inside Story, or even his wedding outfit from Odyssey!
I would've swapped Amy and the Werehog, to be honest. Amy is a separate hedgehog character like Shadow and Silver while Werehog is just a transformation form, and Werehog has chunkier proportions anyway which would fit the Classic Sonic alt as you described it just as well as it would Classic Amy
I appreciate where your thoughts on proportions are going, but I think we skipped a step where *Classic* Sonic is a *Werehog.* It sounds funny, but I could only imagine the neverending confusion from fans.
The choice to use Amy on Classic was probably to use the palette of Classic Amy instead of the pink/red from Modern That said, I'd replace the Werehog one for An Espio palette to keep some synergy of purple on his alts, since he's a speed-type character paralleling Sonic in Heroes
same, as well as replace the yellow and red alts as they feel too random and out of place, which, to be fair, smash does have a lot of, but that doesn't really excuse it as the problem's still there, just on someone else I would easily go for stuff like mighty or espio, but that's against the standard biza had set so idk
@LlEUCU. BEAU× bruh, amy wears golden rings and boots with a different pattern than sonic's shoes, their modern designs look nothing alike so it would be easy to make the alt look distinct even tho there isn't even a need for it as they're just alts, not costumes
I love the philosophy behind your decisions because it shines light on the subject in a way many haven’t considered until now. I think Pac-Man and Lucario should definitely come next due to their underwhelming skin selection. I’m also personally not a fan of Palutena’s costumes so that would be cool to see down the line too.

You've the only one so far who has explained how Classic Sonic would work as an alt. Other people just seem to assume changing size is something they would do, even though Sakurai has explicitly stated that this isn't allowed and why they had to make Lucina a separate character
My philosophy with alt characters is if Iggy can work for Bowser Jr then anyone can (in theory) be anyone else's alt, no matter how many discs nintendo needs to remove/add...

They don't deserve KH inspired colors, but the actual outfits. I mean is not like the Kingdom Hearts franchise isn't in Smash Bros, hell if you hey dropped them when Sora came out and only brought 3 Mii costumes so two more of these could've been Cloud and Sephiroth Kingdom Hearts costumes. Even if they charged more than a Mii price.
This is probably one of the best Smash Bros videos i've ever seen. From the idea of fixing smash costumes to actually creating art for the characters colours and costumes, it was such a joy to watch as well as seeing the origins and reasoning for the colours like the different locations in Majora's Mask was unique and clever. I really hope this becomes a series as I would love to see you tackle a lot more characters

Young Link's blue outfit is actually based on Breath Of The Wild Link, noted by the beige-coloured legs to represent BOTW Link's pants. It's the only alt that makes his legs a different colour than his skin. It's actually my favourite Young Link colour to use.
I love these new costumes, though I feel that not including non-hedgehogs for Sonic’s colors missed the opportunity to have a Blaze inspired palette, which makes much more sense since she’s a literal parallel to Sonic, and her colors are meant to be complementary to his already.

Oh, wow, I'd love to see a series of this, especially if you're gonna make cute art for the alts~ The biggest letdown for me in the costumes department was Pac-Man, but there's a bunch of legal garbage that's going with him right now that simple things like Professor or Jr. being referenced would be impossible being realistic. The second best disappointment would be Olimar's alts, which could've covered all bases if all the alts were costume model swaps. Louie, President, Alph, Brittany and Charlie could've been model swapped and bam everyone's there, at least all the playable ones. Also, Shoutouts to Isabelle not getting a Digby model swap or even a color swap, geez
I see this take with Olimar's alts a lot, and I honestly really don't like it. Smash already has such a big problem at characterizing Olimar as an inept, scatterbrained, emotionless coward rather than the curious, thoughtful, compassionate everyman that he actually is in the games. The fact it drags Alph down with him already adds insult to injury, I don't want the entire cast of the series to suffer the same fate. They don't even give him and Alph separate render poses, whereas they do so for the majority of alternate costumes for different versions of the same character, like Robin, Corrin, and Byleth's female alts. People point to the Koopalings a lot as a counterargument, but the Koopalings are at least 2 dimensional enough to where Bowser Jr's already accurate characterization doesn't feel as jarring on them, but Olimar and Alph don't even have the luxury of having separate voices, let alone in-character animations. It also somehow makes Alph's alts even worse, because his green and pink alts have tints on his spacesuit that Charlie and Britany don't have, so the selection of colors ends up looking less distinct than before. I get this is just me, and seemingly everyone else in the fanbase wants this to happen, but it gives the same energy as people who want characters like Dark Pit or Daisy to be alts for their original characters. Why would you want these distinct and memorable personalities to be completely erased by having them act like the exact opposite of their canonical selves? Is it really worth the reference to bastardize an entire franchise worth of characters?
@@DittoMaster6 I would appreciate the fanservice cuz i'll take what i can get, because that's just a problem with Smash in general, how it either simplifies the character to a specific portion of the franchise like Wario, or gets things wrong altogether like you said with Olimar. It's still so dumb that it happens to previous characters and to new ones as well, there's no consistency in this freaking series that's supposed to be about celebrating the characters and their games....
this episode makes me want to get into smash modding, and just add these alts in myself. This is something that I've genuinely wanted from the game for the longest time, and I think these are the perfect reference points for making something like it!!

I don’t necessarily see a skin as being mediocre or bad just for not being a reference. Some of the coolest are skins that are just cool-looking color swaps. And yeah I’d love to see more of this series

One thing that disappointed me regarding alts was that Steve didn’t get his tuxedo outfit, although I’m also not sure which one to replace it with if we also keep the pairing with Alex and she gets her tuxedo skin (which has her in a black dress but the skin was called Tuxedo Alex iirc)…
I’m super excited to see this as a series! I very much enjoy this kind of revamp/redesign content so this is right up my alley. I’m very curious how you’ll tackle characters like Robin and Corrin who are from games where the main character is purely designed by the player. Can’t wait to see more of this!
15:55 Personally I would have changed his tunic color to purple for this mask, as a double reference not only to Kafei who also wears the Keaton mask in Majora's Mask but to the Happy Mask Salesman himself. It can even keep the Southern Swamp reference since at least to me at night the swamp looks more purple than pink.

@@Iamverykarpy I think he means that there should be an alt that lets you just play as mega lucario instead of only turning into him for the final smash. Think Little Mac's hoodie alt but for a final smash instead of an intro animation.

I personally think Mario could have a luigi skin to spefically refrence Luigi orgins as just the player 2 but that's like the only acceptable exception to the "not being another charater" rule But yeah onyl Luigi should have the waluigi pallet.
I've wanted to see someone do this for so long. I was theorizing my own version of a perfect Smash Bros. to follow-up Ultimate, but I came to a roadblock with the alt skins. I love this idea and want to see you work through all the characters!

Oddly, considering the "alts referencing other series" is Incineroar's purple alt, which despite being a fire cat (like Blaze), references Big the Cat and seems to represent Zazz in Classic Mode, both from Somic.
If the Incineroar alt is a reference, I think it’s more likely to be a reference to Cheshire Cat (which Big’s color scheme is a probable reference to as well).
It's most likely just a wrestling reference, considering what Incineroar is based. It's just morons that started propagating that dumb idea that it was actually based on Big, because using their brain is too hard

I never played Majora but I was always confused to why none of the game was referenced anywhere in Yink's reintroduction. Having costumes based off masks I feel would be a nice middle ground and you showed that off nicely. As a big fan of Sonic though, this is what I've wanted for the character (well, one of the things). I love the costumes you made for him and think it would be a good step to make him feel like a well respected third party in this game.
a thing i'd love to see the devs do for regular link is something similar to what they did with hero and gave him alts for his different incarnations something like oot + fierce deity, tp + ordon village outfit, ss + skyloft outfit, botw + set of the wild pretty poggers video btw
I would like to see this series continue on. Seems like a lot of interesting ideas could come from it For Young Link I do believe there are some extra references. The white costume being from the Blue Ring in the original Zelda and the blue costume being BOTW based, with the same shade of blue tunic and brown leggings. Never heard of the Termina connection but I think that's a neat spin

9:09 Actually I'm pretty sure Mario having the Waluigi alt is a reference to TTYD when you wear both the W Emblem Badge and L Emblem Badge, which is why the M is yellow on Mario's alt but the L isn't on Luigi's... for some reason. Mario also had a Wario alt in Brawl with a lighter blue M on his cap than Wario, which is the W Emblem badge. Dunno why they made the M Green in the Smash 4 version of the alt, but whatever.
Also the White Young Link alt is actually a reference to the Blue Ring in Zelda 1 which turns your tunic (and everything that shares Link's palette like Zelda's dress, the Wooden Sword, the Merchant's clothes etc) white, not blue like the name implies or later Zelda games would do, which is why it goes back as far as Smash 64.

Personally, I see Classic Sonic being his own fighter rather than a Sonic alt. With the release of Sonic Frontiers, Sonic has brand new moveset potential and there’s a decent chance he’ll get a moveset based on Frontiers. Classic Sonic would then have Sonic’s old moveset, and everyone will be happy. If Nintendo doesn’t change Sonic’s moveset, they’re wrong. Okay well to be fair, this video was released in May 2022, and Sonic Frontiers wasn’t out until November 2022.
This was really cool! I think a cool next up for this, if it does become a series, would be Ganondorf. As much as I think his alts are good, I think maybe replacing some of the uglier ones with different costumes would be great. Maybe a demise one. (:

For Young Link, would be cool to use the most iconic masks of Majora, but... - Deku Mask: Brown - Goron Mask: Yellow/Gold - Zora Mask: Light Blue/White - Feirce Deity: Dark Green To reference the forms that he takes on through the game, when you think of Majora, you think about a heart-shaped and edgy looking mask with dark powers and Link being able to turn into creatures from Hyrule.
It’s an outrage that you didn’t use inspiration from Sonic Underground or *any* of the TV Shows on Sonic to make a referential costume. Alternate costumes with different quill patterns to match the three triplets from the old show.

If you ever get to them, I would suggest making a (partial?) exception to this for the Xenoblade characters. They already have what are probably Xenogears and Xenosaga references in Ultimate, they're just kinda subtle because Nintendo doesn't own those IPs. Blade is a spiritual successor to Saga, which is itself a spiritual successor to Gears, so they're sometimes considered part of a larger meta-series. I think that's fair game as long as the Gears and Saga references maintain plausible deniability.
For Samus I think her alts are fine but they should have gone the extra mile and have each color alt actually resemble the design of the suits she wears in those respective games and replace the green and black and yellow alts with a suit based on Metroid Prime's phazon suit and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption's PED suit respectively.
Tbh, the Green Samus is a reference to the previous Smash games, as a sort of tradition in the games. Though with the new suit she gets in Dread, replacing it with the Metroid Suit is probably the best way to go for that one

As a Young Link main, seeing you IMMEDIATELY pick him for this series outing filled me with such joy, because I always thought he should have some Majora's Mask reference, but strangely never got.
Him not using the Fierce Deity as his final smash was the second greatest sin in ultimate.

Have you ever thought about remaking Chrom's alts? They're all aggressively mid and dull, to the point where 3 of them (default, purple and black) are almost indistinguishable from each other
I swear, I feel like all his alts change him in some way but I find it so hard to pick any of them. Whenever I pick Chrom, I scroll through his colours, realise they all feel like they're just there and go default.
That e character alone is going to take a long time to draw so expect quite the wait

Great costumes! You're scratching that itch of missed opportunities I have when it comes to smash alts!! I'm a Bowser main, and something that always feels criminal everytime that I boot up smash bros is that there aren't any interesting alts for his character besides recolors. I really wanted to see something like Dry Bowser or Dark Bowser from Bowser's Inside Story, or even his wedding outfit from Odyssey!
I would absolutely dig the idea of having R.O.B’s costumes resemble every major nintendo costume. not only would it be distinct but great variety.

I would've swapped Amy and the Werehog, to be honest. Amy is a separate hedgehog character like Shadow and Silver while Werehog is just a transformation form, and Werehog has chunkier proportions anyway which would fit the Classic Sonic alt as you described it just as well as it would Classic Amy

I appreciate where your thoughts on proportions are going, but I think we skipped a step where *Classic* Sonic is a *Werehog.* It sounds funny, but I could only imagine the neverending confusion from fans.
The choice to use Amy on Classic was probably to use the palette of Classic Amy instead of the pink/red from Modern
That said, I'd replace the Werehog one for An Espio palette to keep some synergy of purple on his alts, since he's a speed-type character paralleling Sonic in Heroes
same, as well as replace the yellow and red alts as they feel too random and out of place, which, to be fair, smash does have a lot of, but that doesn't really excuse it as the problem's still there, just on someone else
I would easily go for stuff like mighty or espio, but that's against the standard biza had set so idk
@LlEUCU. BEAU× bruh, amy wears golden rings and boots with a different pattern than sonic's shoes, their modern designs look nothing alike so it would be easy to make the alt look distinct even tho there isn't even a need for it as they're just alts, not costumes
I love the philosophy behind your decisions because it shines light on the subject in a way many haven’t considered until now. I think Pac-Man and Lucario should definitely come next due to their underwhelming skin selection. I’m also personally not a fan of Palutena’s costumes so that would be cool to see down the line too.

You've the only one so far who has explained how Classic Sonic would work as an alt. Other people just seem to assume changing size is something they would do, even though Sakurai has explicitly stated that this isn't allowed and why they had to make Lucina a separate character
My philosophy with alt characters is if Iggy can work for Bowser Jr then anyone can (in theory) be anyone else's alt, no matter how many discs nintendo needs to remove/add...

I personally think Cloud and Sephiroth deserve Kingdom Hearts inspired colour schemes or costumes because they looked great in the first Kingdom Hearts
They don't deserve KH inspired colors, but the actual outfits. I mean is not like the Kingdom Hearts franchise isn't in Smash Bros, hell if you hey dropped them when Sora came out and only brought 3 Mii costumes so two more of these could've been Cloud and Sephiroth Kingdom Hearts costumes.
Even if they charged more than a Mii price.
This is probably one of the best Smash Bros videos i've ever seen. From the idea of fixing smash costumes to actually creating art for the characters colours and costumes, it was such a joy to watch as well as seeing the origins and reasoning for the colours like the different locations in Majora's Mask was unique and clever. I really hope this becomes a series as I would love to see you tackle a lot more characters

Young Link's blue outfit is actually based on Breath Of The Wild Link, noted by the beige-coloured legs to represent BOTW Link's pants. It's the only alt that makes his legs a different colour than his skin.
It's actually my favourite Young Link colour to use.

I love these new costumes, though I feel that not including non-hedgehogs for Sonic’s colors missed the opportunity to have a Blaze inspired palette, which makes much more sense since she’s a literal parallel to Sonic, and her colors are meant to be complementary to his already.
Sonic already has that, it's in his purple alt which references Nights and Blaze!

The biggest letdown for me in the costumes department was Pac-Man, but there's a bunch of legal garbage that's going with him right now that simple things like Professor or Jr. being referenced would be impossible being realistic.
The second best disappointment would be Olimar's alts, which could've covered all bases if all the alts were costume model swaps. Louie, President, Alph, Brittany and Charlie could've been model swapped and bam everyone's there, at least all the playable ones. Also, Shoutouts to Isabelle not getting a Digby model swap or even a color swap, geez
I see this take with Olimar's alts a lot, and I honestly really don't like it. Smash already has such a big problem at characterizing Olimar as an inept, scatterbrained, emotionless coward rather than the curious, thoughtful, compassionate everyman that he actually is in the games. The fact it drags Alph down with him already adds insult to injury, I don't want the entire cast of the series to suffer the same fate. They don't even give him and Alph separate render poses, whereas they do so for the majority of alternate costumes for different versions of the same character, like Robin, Corrin, and Byleth's female alts. People point to the Koopalings a lot as a counterargument, but the Koopalings are at least 2 dimensional enough to where Bowser Jr's already accurate characterization doesn't feel as jarring on them, but Olimar and Alph don't even have the luxury of having separate voices, let alone in-character animations.
It also somehow makes Alph's alts even worse, because his green and pink alts have tints on his spacesuit that Charlie and Britany don't have, so the selection of colors ends up looking less distinct than before.
I get this is just me, and seemingly everyone else in the fanbase wants this to happen, but it gives the same energy as people who want characters like Dark Pit or Daisy to be alts for their original characters. Why would you want these distinct and memorable personalities to be completely erased by having them act like the exact opposite of their canonical selves? Is it really worth the reference to bastardize an entire franchise worth of characters?
@@DittoMaster6 I would appreciate the fanservice cuz i'll take what i can get, because that's just a problem with Smash in general, how it either simplifies the character to a specific portion of the franchise like Wario, or gets things wrong altogether like you said with Olimar.
It's still so dumb that it happens to previous characters and to new ones as well, there's no consistency in this freaking series that's supposed to be about celebrating the characters and their games....
Hell, even Pac Man's stage is disappointing... Why the hell didn't they choose his iconic maze stage from Smash 4 3DS?
the fact not all pokemon have their shinies as alts hurts me, Greninja is the worst example because it gets so close
this episode makes me want to get into smash modding, and just add these alts in myself. This is something that I've genuinely wanted from the game for the longest time, and I think these are the perfect reference points for making something like it!!
I like how you made unique art for your alt ideas, and the ideas themselves were good while still feeling like they could actually happen officially. I'd very much be down for this as a series.
This is an excellent series i can see you making lots of and I'd enjoy every one, just like this one! Fun, funny, a interesting without being overly reliant on you cranking out tons of mostly original designs in a short amount of time, here you get to draw inspiration from lots of places and I really like the classic sonic alts, very very cute and cool!

19:53- I suggest you should add the red strikes in the fur too, and replace the shoes to be more accurate to shadow's.

You are so skilled at design from colors to generally just making cosmetics and, your other series, plushies that are honestly like- please, I need a timeline where these are real.
I've been a Pac-Man main since high school and the only alt I really didn't mind was the plaid retexture (mostly because I was dumb and accidentally changed it, not knowing how to revert back and therefore being stuck with it for a long time), so I am READY to see a possible MS. PAC-MAN BECAUSE THEY DID HER SO DIRTY BY NOT HAVING HER D:
I don’t necessarily see a skin as being mediocre or bad just for not being a reference. Some of the coolest are skins that are just cool-looking color swaps.

One thing that disappointed me regarding alts was that Steve didn’t get his tuxedo outfit, although I’m also not sure which one to replace it with if we also keep the pairing with Alex and she gets her tuxedo skin (which has her in a black dress but the skin was called Tuxedo Alex iirc)…

I’m very curious how you’ll tackle characters like Robin and Corrin who are from games where the main character is purely designed by the player. Can’t wait to see more of this!
15:55 Personally I would have changed his tunic color to purple for this mask, as a double reference not only to Kafei who also wears the Keaton mask in Majora's Mask but to the Happy Mask Salesman himself. It can even keep the Southern Swamp reference since at least to me at night the swamp looks more purple than pink.

Link’s railguard alt is almost perfect imo, it’s just that the gloves, boots, and hylian shield ruin it
I personally think Mario could have a luigi skin to spefically refrence Luigi orgins as just the player 2 but that's like the only acceptable exception to the "not being another charater" rule
But yeah onyl Luigi should have the waluigi pallet.
I've wanted to see someone do this for so long. I was theorizing my own version of a perfect Smash Bros. to follow-up Ultimate, but I came to a roadblock with the alt skins.

Oddly, considering the "alts referencing other series" is Incineroar's purple alt, which despite being a fire cat (like Blaze), references Big the Cat and seems to represent Zazz in Classic Mode, both from Somic.
I’m like 90% sure that resemblance is just a coincidence and not intentional, but they definitely look similar
If the Incineroar alt is a reference, I think it’s more likely to be a reference to Cheshire Cat (which Big’s color scheme is a probable reference to as well).
It's most likely just a wrestling reference, considering what Incineroar is based. It's just morons that started propagating that dumb idea that it was actually based on Big, because using their brain is too hard

I love the callback to weresonic! It was the game I sat through hours and hours of TH-cam playthroughs of, and I don’t think I ever actually saw the end either-
I never played Majora but I was always confused to why none of the game was referenced anywhere in Yink's reintroduction. Having costumes based off masks I feel would be a nice middle ground and you showed that off nicely.
As a big fan of Sonic though, this is what I've wanted for the character (well, one of the things). I love the costumes you made for him and think it would be a good step to make him feel like a well respected third party in this game.
a thing i'd love to see the devs do for regular link is something similar to what they did with hero and gave him alts for his different incarnations

For Young Link I do believe there are some extra references. The white costume being from the Blue Ring in the original Zelda and the blue costume being BOTW based, with the same shade of blue tunic and brown leggings. Never heard of the Termina connection but I think that's a neat spin

9:09 Actually I'm pretty sure Mario having the Waluigi alt is a reference to TTYD when you wear both the W Emblem Badge and L Emblem Badge, which is why the M is yellow on Mario's alt but the L isn't on Luigi's... for some reason. Mario also had a Wario alt in Brawl with a lighter blue M on his cap than Wario, which is the W Emblem badge. Dunno why they made the M Green in the Smash 4 version of the alt, but whatever.
Also the White Young Link alt is actually a reference to the Blue Ring in Zelda 1 which turns your tunic (and everything that shares Link's palette like Zelda's dress, the Wooden Sword, the Merchant's clothes etc) white, not blue like the name implies or later Zelda games would do, which is why it goes back as far as Smash 64.
This can definitely make for a cool series. I like what you did with Sonic and Young Link's alts here

Personally, I see Classic Sonic being his own fighter rather than a Sonic alt. With the release of Sonic Frontiers, Sonic has brand new moveset potential and there’s a decent chance he’ll get a moveset based on Frontiers. Classic Sonic would then have Sonic’s old moveset, and everyone will be happy. If Nintendo doesn’t change Sonic’s moveset, they’re wrong.
Okay well to be fair, this video was released in May 2022, and Sonic Frontiers wasn’t out until November 2022.
This was really cool! I think a cool next up for this, if it does become a series, would be Ganondorf. As much as I think his alts are good, I think maybe replacing some of the uglier ones with different costumes would be great. Maybe a demise one. (:

To reference the forms that he takes on through the game, when you think of Majora, you think about a heart-shaped and edgy looking mask with dark powers and Link being able to turn into creatures from Hyrule.
