- Back in June, we installed the first developer beta of iOS 15 on my iPhone 6s. Having not upgraded since then, today we're going to try to upgrade straight to the final release of the operating system!

Glad the final build just moves the address bar to the bottom rather than having it be floating.
As someone who had the entire beta thing on my daily iPhone, they added it in beta 7 or 8 a few weeks ago. It feels way more “stable” and the original one felt pretty flimsy but it was fine tbh

I used the floating bar from beta 1 to beta 5 and have to say I much preferred it that way… Sad they changed it
The refresh button got added back in beta 4. It also added a refresh button when the bar is collapsed, but Apple removed it in beta 6.(which is a shame because I liked it)
Me too, I preferred the simpler and more clean floating design. They had a good compromise by adding that refresh button. I hope they add the option to do have that floating bar back. But as long as the swipe gestures are there, it’s okay
Can't you just pull the page down to refresh?

Installing it through DFU mode on iTunes or on a Mac always seems to be better.
That way it's a clean install instead of an update all the way through
I I thought updating thru iTunes is a full install vs OTA update I forgot how exactly that goes but it's like pancaked into the current OS

My 6S is running it fine, the beta even worked well.
All of the new features of iOS 15 only applies on iPhone Xs and above (A12 Bionic and above)
This also applies on iPadOS.
I have it on my phone! it took me 2 hours to get bc I have full storage… my dad helped me! And it’s worth it!
I have the newest beta on my 6s and it works okay. That hardware is still capable.
On my iPhone (XR) I got gifted by someone who was already in Apple devices (not a Mac) on August 3rd 2023, I started out with iOS 15, then upgraded from that to iOS 16, then upgraded to iOS 17. And a little bit before the upgrade. I actually switched to iOS as my primary phone. Before I was deciding whether to switch to iOS or not. I installed Gmail to make it half complete.
I used a 6S on iOS 15 for about two weeks. It was a really nice novelty. A 7 year old device running the latest build of iOS. Using it every day was an absolute bitch.

No it is the Google lens app extension that is also in the Google search bar that is on your Android home page that allows you to search for text!!
On the iphone se works really well i recomend upgrading.
iOS 15 Developer Beta 6 included the Safari tab bar options, I remember because my iPhone 7 wouldn’t let me update to it and I was stuck on iOS 15 Public Beta 5

I installed it today on my 6s plus, so far no problems everything is pretty smooth however I’m not too sure if I like the new safari

Give it a shot, especially on a big phone, it’s nice to have the address bar at the bottom. Plus, you get swipe gestures between tabs, you can even swipe up like you would on an iPhone without a home button, and get to all your tabs. And if you’re at the last tab, swiping over will open a new tab, which is quicker than going to your tab view and then tapping the +
@@halami2149 the main problem I’m facing is whenever I switch from private to normal tabs, I’m in the middle of my 200 tabs and I have to always scroll to the bottom

Why nobody is talking about the new table setup?
So I think the maps 3D effect is a big because my iPhone 11 Pro doesn’t do the building with trees either.
With the iOS 15 release they made it so the upgrade was completely optional and they’d keep providing security updates to iOS 14
funny thing is my ipad pro 10.5 installed the beta fine but i had the issue you did updating the beta but updating from the beta to the final build 😅🤣
In one of the betas, they added a reload button to safari in the floating tab design. But they decided to go with the weird hybrid they have now, which is fine I guess
The update section now has two pages because there is also an option to stay on iOS 14 and update to the latest iOS 14 version
who knows if the "spying on your files" function aka the AI scan is also installed in the latest ios 14? Feel kinda bad that you guys in usa is the first to experience that function. Its not approved in europe yet

Tried to update from OS 13 and 6s reported 15.7.3 as the latest update (March 26, 2023) then downloaded it all and now is in LA LA land for an hour, saying "Preparing for Update"!

I miss iPhone 6s with iOS 10! Anyway! I had upgraded to iPhone 12 mini with iOS 15 is so awesome!
My phone threw so many errors at me trying to update it and I don’t know why lmao it’s got enough storage and it’s new enough and was running the newest version of iOS 14 so I don’t know why it put up such a fight for 15 😂 got it on there eventually but it sure felt like everything went wrong
Did you get an error message, too? And if so, how did you fix it? I'm trying to figure it out, but I had issues with itunes on a laptop in the past so I'm only going to go that route as a last resort.

I installed iOS 15 on my iPhone 6s. Nothing's gone wrong so far! (main release, not beta.) edit: thanks for letting me know that I put iPhone 6 instead of 6s. Thanks to you guys, I fixed it!

On the maps screen can you click on the 2D button to get the 3D view?
They did say some features like Maps 3D will only work on iPhone XS and up cause of the hardware
My Xs is literally lagging in asphalt 9, but in previous betas didn’t.

my iPad Air 2 has gone through numerous betas and final releases but i never have any problems beside storage, have to sort out which game do cloud saving so i can delete them, free my storage and still have my progress back. Although in doing so i do lost 2 game saves.
I still used my 6s unit today my parents wouldn't not get me a new phone but they had the latest so I saved up my money and got a android

How about the battery??
The battery seems fine for normal use, it drains a lot during heavy use tho (mainly because I live in a cold place and the battery drains quickly in phones).

Obviously the big problem with iOS 15 and the iPhone 6s is that it takes so much in storage and so I'd say then they shouldn't have updated the 16gb models. Personally I have an iPhone 6s but it's a 32gb one and it runs flawlessly and even with the beta I had still a lot of space left. But very cool anyway.
Actually, I think the opposite. Before I had the update, I had like 17gb/32gb used by “system” and “others”, but when I downloaded the update, even if it’s +4gb, now “system” and “others” only take up 10gb.

I still daily drive my iPhone 6s Plus and nothing ever gone wrong.

Try installing Windows 11 on a iPhone 4S next, pretty sure nothing will go wrong.
Have a 6S Plus 64G at hand. iOS does not install or upgrade so slowly on that. (~15 min till finishment)
So 16GiB is about to blame for the 45 min inst time.
