In this video I take a detailed look at my new Atlas Artemis in 9mm. I'm going to use it for USPSA Limited Optics Division competition this year. I'm not abandoning my iron sights and will continue to compete in Limited Division Major Power Factor as well. I just have to join everyone else on the red-dot bandwagon or else I'll get left way behind! My new Artemis is in 9mm since the Limited Optics Division is only Minor Power Factor.

Nice set up. I ordered an Athena in November 2023, and was quoted 8 to 9 months on the build. It is currently on step 4 of 10. I sent them a Holosun 509T to mount on it. I currently carry a Staccato P with a 509T mounted on it. Did you say the dot cover was from Gene's ? I want to see if they make one for the 509T.

You won't be disappointed! I love my Artemis. People have even said to me how flat they notice it shooting at events. Here's where to get your red dot cover:
      dreamplastics.com/
They have the greatest products for pretty much every sight--I even got them for m EoTech's that I have on my AR's. If your Atlas gun has the co-witness sights, then you'll have to cut a small notch in the back of the cover to get it to fit. Not a big deal.
Oh yeah, they also quoted me 6 months and I got it in 5, so that's maybe what will happen with yours.

@@docgsreloading7985 Thanks, I also ordered the hard case like you did. Is it a Pelican or is there a brand name on it ?

@@joebishop7909 Yes, it's an SKB case (and it takes a lot for me to say this, since I have well over 20 Pelican cases--and other brands) that the SKB is MUCH better than the Pelican. The one from Atlas has very stiff and protective, custom cut, foam and great latches that must be unlocked from a bottom spring loaded lever (Pelican cases don't have that unless it's a much more expensive case). Plus, the Atlas SKB case has the 2 levels, so now I can take my gun safely to an event and I can have all the tools and all my mags in the same case and I don't have to remember a separate mag pouch. I bought 3 other SKB Atlas cases for my other 3 Atlas guns--it's just the best way to safely carry the gun. I'd even let TSA put it on a plane since I know it would be safe from any baggage handler!

    How you like the Artemis?
Is that sight block part of the barrel or barrel and sight block are to separate parts?

Hey thanks for watching! I just got this out to shoot it for the first time this last weekend at a competition Saturday and Sunday. I'll say that this gun is BY FAR THE MOST AWESOME FIREARM I'VE EVER TOUCHED OR OWNED!! This is my 4th Atlas gun and this is even by far my best Atlas. My ammo is set to the Minor Power Factor for USPSA at about 125-130 and with that ammo, this gun barely lifts during recoil. I shot my first 6 shots at 3 targets and started laughing! Normally, the red dot goes out of vision as the gun lifts and recoils--this gun just barely pushes back in your hand so I never lose the red dot and can have very fast follow-up shots on targets. For me, this gun is worth every penny and the best investment I've ever made in any firearm.
That being said, I don't know about the sight-block. My Atlas Nemesis in 40 cal for USPSA Limited Division (iron sights), Major Power Factor has a sight block as well, and to the best I can tell they are 2 separate pieces, but they really don't come apart (and they don't need to come apart for cleaning). Remember, for guns like these, you don't run solvent or a brush of any kind down the barrel's rifling. Schuemann did an article on how to clean these barrels so check it out online.

@@docgsreloading7985 I’m just worry that in the future that part needs to be sent out for calibration purposes.
I’m between the Artemis and Athena 😅. Not sure which one will be better for USPSA LO.

@@Gabierama Well, I can tell you for a fact, never worry about parts, Atlas will always take care of you and maintain your gun. I have not shot the Athena, so I can't speak to it but I can say that my 2 sight-block Atlas guns, the Nemesis and Artemis, are unbelievably flat shooting. I can say for sure that you won't be disappointed with the Artemis. It does take them 6 months once you place the order. You can place it online, then someone will call you (usually Tony) to verify everything before it goes into production. It did take them 5 months to get my Artemis to me.
