Interesting. I have the exact same turntable, except mine came with the Series 20/Pioneer PA1000 carbon fiber tonearm. These were made in 1977 and 78. The PLC590 listed for $550.00 and the PA1000 arm was $100.00 more. The PA 1000 was discontinued early and replaced by the PA5000; dealer story was that the Japanese factory making the PA1000 carbon fiber arms burned. I saw this table at a dealer while I was in college in the late 70's and lusted after it but couldn't afford it. In early 1980 after I was employed, I got lucky and found a leftover demo unit with a scratch on the side at a Pioneer dealer for a nice discount. I still have this unit in regular use today. The only repairs have been to re-lamp the VU meter and replace a cracked DIN connector on the tonearm, (and touch up the scratch). These were made to compete with the high end direct drives coming on the market by the likes of Denon, JVC, Micro Seiki, Mitsubishi and Yamaha. FYI, another armless direct drive of the era was the JVC QL50 which was the armless version of the QL-5.
No they are not, the feet I fitted were from a Technics 1210 but the tread does not match so I changed them back to the original so I could get the level right
yes they are Isonoe feet like lots of people fit to the Technics 1210s and they do give better isolation than the original. The problem is the thread is not the same as the Pioneer deck so it is just sitting on the feet Alan
