Arrowtown, New Zealand South

A beautiful summer's day in quiet Arrowtown. It was voted NZ's most beautiful small town 2020. It is 19.5km - 25 minutes from Queenstown CBD. Everything seems a little bit slower in Arrowtown.
It is a historic gold mining town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. Arrowtown is located on the banks of the Arrow River approximately 7.5 km from State Highway 6.

The first jail in Arrowtown was simply a log. You were chained up to it. The later stone jail still exists and is in Cardigan Street. It is New Zealand’s 4th oldest jail.
