SURF FISHING for LIMITS of BIG SPECKLED TROUT on TOPWATER LURES! (Catch & cook)

- When the surf calms down and the water cleans up in Galveston, there’s no better place to catch speckled trout then at the beach! We headed out for a quick morning Wade fishing session in the surf, and I caught my limit of big speckled trout all on topwater lures before 7:00am. We topped it off by making some simple and delicious fish tacos for lunch with our fresh catch! Make sure to stay tuned for the catch and cook part of the video! Thanks for watching!

Surf fishing with topwater's is so fun! Great video!
Hard to beat a top water bite. Very exciting. Excellent job on the video!
I think I saw you driving down the seawall about 3 weeks ago in your red truck with a Before Outdoors sticker on the back window. I had my kayak in the back of the truck. I love surf fishing for trout during the summer. I've been doing it for 30yrs.
What a blast and great looking food
I used to bank fish a lot for Steelhead in Washington and on more than one occasion as I was walking down the river bank I flipped my bait out behind guys who had waded 1/3 of the way across the river to fish the slot on the opposite bank and hooked fish behind them. Seeing the expression on their face as they turn around after hearing the fish jump or me yelling "Fish On!" was priceless. So making those casts as you wade out is very important.
Steelhead??? That’s cool do they fight hard?
Sick vid bro ! Keep’em coming.
Your a good angler you turned that bite into a drive by jack snatch.
Nice fish and great tacos!
Love fishing the surf! Tacos look awesome
Nothing beats a nice morning on the beach! Thanks for watching!
Grew up fishing the Texas coast and your really making me want me to go back! Hell of a day you had and damn good looking tacos!
Lookes Luke fun, yall got on a hot bite!
Nice work, Cameron. It was like you could do nothing wrong that day.
Agreed! Those surf trout were just mad that day! They wanted every lure!
I'm a subscriber for life mi amigo. Keep on catching !!

Awesome video, quick question, rod type size and action and what reel? keep the great videos coming!
Tacos look great
🔥 Video Bro!
Nice tacos
You can wade to the 2nd bar and cast forward and backward, you cover more water like that.
How can you tell when you make it to the second sand bar? I never could figure it out. Ive only been fishing for a little bit lol
Great video dude. Thanks for letting us watch. What day was it?
Thank you for tuning in! This was from Friday the 14th!
You went to Galveston ? Is it alright to go after the storm?
Nice job DUDE👍
Thank you!
Very nice bro
New to surf fishing. Can you tell me what your rod/reel and line setup is? TIA
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 this is pro sheeeeeeet
Delicious!!
I’ll be on Bolivar next week👌🏼
BOI right here. Ball High class of 86'. What size bait caster are you using? I have a Penn Fathom 300 low profile high speed on a medium action rod. Thinking I should probably step up to a med-hev rod for that size reel. I really love the 300 reel as it fits good in my hands. Last wend. and thur. morning I hit up surfside and the water was pretty nice. Clear enough to see mullet in the rolling waves. There was bait fish jumping around and I was feeling confident I'd hook up something. A few years ago I started to get back into fishing. Iv'e never really done much artificial bait fishing but decided to try a popping cork with a vodoo shrimp rubbed with pro cure under it. Didn't get any bites at all. Maybe I needed to be out there on the water earlier as I was out in the surf about 10am. I also have some paddle tails now that I want to try. Keep up the good videos. Back in the day three decades ago...lol, after I turned 26y/o...my body said no more iodine for me, so Iv'e been nothing but catch and release since. That just leaves more for yall to catch and eat...lol
Thanks for watching! I’m surprised you didn’t get anything on the vudoo shrimp! That’s one of the best lures in my opinion! I think you’re right with getting out there earlier. A lot of times when fishing the surf, the action is over by 8:30 or 9! We usually get there before the sun rises and start fishing right as we have enough light to see. I definitely would recommend some paddle tails too, especially if you’re seeing lots of mullet and baitfish, the trout are probably focusing on those instead of shrimp. Hope this helps and goodluck! Thanks again
What outfit were you using ? Cheers.
Honest question, how good are you at reading the beach because you seem to do a hell of a lot better than I do wading in the surf.
once you find what to look for surf fishing is some of the best
You on the seawall?
Getting a limit on 4 casts is nuts
What set-up are you using ...reel , rod ?
Rod: Waterloo Hp lite
Reel: shimano slx dc
Thanks for watching!
😎Whatit DO?! You been hanging out with GG to much! You acting like him and Chris not having a net.🤣😂🤣😂 Nice to see you out there putting in work. Keep up the great content! PEEEAAACCCEEE! 🤙💯
Haha! I appreciate you watching the vid!
Who was the storm in Texas it was crazy though usually I go to the coast every every weekend to corpus Christi
Yessir, that storm came out of nowhere!
You ever coat the fillet in a little mayo before you put the seasoning
Absolutely, usually when I’m baking it though, I’ve never tried it before pan searing! Thanks for watching!
Was this before the storm bubba?
Try putting an avocado in the blender with the sauce with about 4 pickle jalapeños for a little bite. 😮😮
Definitely avocado in the sauce go crazy maybe one Serrano
What beach are you at
@@Karen-pu1kz yes I know but what beach
surfside beach
Texas beach. Find your own spot
@@gobybryant1001 lol i don’t fish the surf buddy
Every beach is not the same
How far from Bob hall area?
A few hours! This is in Galveston
Great video! Surf trout have some broad shoulders on 'em. What pliers are you using to unhook the fish?
Thanks! Those are gomexus titanium pliers.
What’s the rod and reel combo?
Waterloo Hp lite
Shimano slx dc
First gut. BEFORE sunrise. Black corkies or black touts ONLY. After the sun rises switch to your fav colors. You'll know because the bite on the black color will stop.
I’ve never been successful finding trout in the surf. I wish I knew how.
💯💯👌🏼
Jamaica beach.
Dispatch & Bleed out the fish. It tastes much better.
Funny, today I got a surf fishing belt exactly like the one that Kevin is wearing. Same color and everything.
!👍🧡🧡🧡🧡
Where is this spot?! Haha! Just kidding. Great video
First!
Galveston west end! I’ll drop the coordinates for you! lol, thanks for watching!
@@BeforeOutdoors damn you!! Don't you dare!
You hit your limit before people hit the water
The limit for Texas Trout is abysmal.
