I practiced these drills in my yard, without a ball. I went to the range with my friend and she was amazed. I hit shot after shot after shot better than ever. I started crying, I was so happy to have a golf swing that keeps getting better as I utilize these lessons. Posted a shortie and gave you all the credit Danny. You are MY COACH. ⛳💗

Danny Maude please accept my kindest thanks. A Pro from Bend Oregon posted an Instagram video of me yesterday and I ended the video with a Thank You to Danny Maude for his You Tube lessons. Hope it grows your channel. My channel is “crickets”, but I’m posting videos anyway.

Danny, I want to get on the next flight across the pond to give you a hug. For years I've struggled with the takeaway and always took it too much inside. I used the directional sticks, etc. But you made it so simple. I tried it out and knew I was doing it right since my neck and left shoulder was sore. You are the man. Thank you so much. I'm telling everyone about you - - even our club pros.

Danny, from your videos alone you’ve changed my game. I’ve watched countless videos and couldn’t quote piece it all together. Went from a slice to more of a draw with some fades in there. No more hard slices. Can’t believe the whole time my swing went wrong was within the first second. Last two days at the range have been fun. Watching a ball path completely different than what I’m used to is great.

Danny, this is literally the first comment i've left on a golf instruction video and i've watched hundreds. At approx. 6 mins you talked about a misconception with turning vs. pivoting. I applied this my next time out and was hitting the driver longer and straighter than ever. Great video and thank you!

Follow up, just back from range, had been fighting flippy hook for weeks.
Got correct hands in sync then lift and cock upwards. Sorted, was able to rotate through without worry of left going left shot. The ONLY reason I could fix it in 5-10 shots was your crystal clear instruction, Cheers Danny!!

Hi Danny, brilliant video as always and replicates exactly what my pga pro was advising me last week. Stop club head coming inside on backswing and then going back in mistaken attempt to rotate. Club path average 10 degrees in to out which resulted in me flipping to save shots which were mainly straight but woefully inefficient. 40yrs golfing having been single figures once despite awful putting. Was aN eye opener lesson and the effortless power from dropping club transformational. So similar to your video. Simplified effective coaching. Well done as a reminder of key points. best instructor on TH-cam.

I’m a 20-25 handicapper. I golf with a scratch golfer who always tells me my problem is an early wrist cock. I have tried to correct it with little success. I tried the frisbee drill and wow it clicked in. Spent 30 minutes trying the drill then went to the driving range. What a difference. Thank you very much.

The best coach on you tube. I have always had problems with my takeaway particularly in getting it started before my forearm and shoulder muscles lock up with tension which seriously affects my tempo. I love these tips particularly with the club with the weighted ball on the end which encourages a pause at the top improving tempo or the ball goes all over the place. All of your tips are spot on but unless you have a neutral grip you can't effectively get the club to the ball square.Thank you very much for all your excellent videos. My best wishes Barry Lambert.

Always look forward to these Saturday morning videos....Today's video is spot-on and very timely. I have realized that I have been trying to "kill" the ball by coming back and swinging down as hard a possible (I call it "swinging and flinging") that have me chasing banana slices to heavy power fades. The change I have been working on the takeaway more of late, is to purposely "slow" down my tempo to get the shoulders at the fullest pivot point like you demo in this video, the PURPOSELY pausing for a split second before unwinding. The result - slices are very rare, power fades are fewer, with most shots in the short grass. Case in point at the course this week my son, who is my main playing partner, commented that drives/fairways/long irons are now starting slightly right and coming back to the center of the fairway. Yes, I am learning! Likewise short irons/wedges are landing where I envision the landing zone to be. Your coaching is a big key to these changes as your work on key fundamentals is what is making the difference. Keep up the good teaching....till next week.

Hi Dan, as you know the takeaway is my default 'bad move' so I was keen to watch this. I tried the alignment stick drill yesterday, and it immediately showed me that my hands were too far back at address (the stick wouldn't let me move my hands back to where I normally have them). The difference is noticeable, I can clearly see that I wasn't starting with a square club face!
It felt awkward, but I had another session with it today and it's starting to feel much more comfortable. I can't wait to try it out on the course, it feels like a positive move. Thanks, as always. So simple and easy to understand.

You are generating some good lag pressure at STARTDOWN Danny. You are nicely on plane.
It is however a dual (third class) lever. The arms do turn BUT you don’t turn them. As Moe say there are “no twisting muscles”. It is truly a pivot because the “pivot point “ is fixed. Think tether pole. Excellent video Danny. Your instruction manner is truly appreciated.
    Cheers F

Watched your video last night and a huge penny dropped. I had the turn all wrong, and your video explained perfectly and now I get it. Makes perfect sense. Struggled on our front 9 today, putting it into practice, but the back 9 was awesome. Scored 23 points playing off 12, driving like a demon. Many many thanks, great vid as always. Best wishes, Phil.

Danny if other coaches taught golf the simple way you do the average golfer would improve immensely. I personally do not have a convential swing (JVG swing) but the same rules apply. I have no weight transfer during the swing but controlling the "mass" correctly is so important and almost guarantees good contact with the ball every time. Being an oldie I have found the method which suits me but this does not stop me watching your videos and picking up things which should work for everyone. Thank you Danny and keep well.

Hi Danny - when it all goes wrong - as it does from time to time - I go back to your 'Takeaway' Drills - back to basics - usually gets me sorted.
I posed the question a while ago referring back to an earlier video -the' Proper Wrist Hinge in Golf Backswing' (Nov 2017) and how this relates to the Takeway. Another related video is 'How to Keep the Left arm Straight in the Golf Swing' (Dec 2017)
Can you possibly cover how to integrate these techniques - takeaway + wrist hinge + left arm straight' in a single video? Would really appreciate that.
    Thanks

Brilliant simpkevtips asxalways Danny. When I di this I can play to single figures, when I revert to a 30 year inside move I literally go up 6 -8 shots! This really works. Just wish I could do it all the time. Thanks Danny.

I just bought Callaway Mavrick irons, drivers and hybrid so good. It's the first time in four sets of clubs I've ever bought new clubs and I'm 56 and because I live in Australia really expensive but great clubs. Shout out to John at Sydney Golf House this guys sells clubs for the love of it.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Backswings that get a little flat can often be put down to this first move and/or turning not pivoting

Great vid. This was my main problem previously. Even I did not intentionally roll my wrist at the backswing but any urge of adding power or making a bigger turn(unfortunately its using my hands not my core) my fingers and wrist will exert pressure on the club handle and throwing the club inside. So now my swing thought is keeping my hands and wrist passive on the start of the backswing with the club face continue to cover the ball while maintaining the triangle and only use the core to pivot as you recommend.
