  • ✔️ About the Episode:
    In this episode, we head directly to the JEEP dealership and we are on a mission to buy our very First Jeep. We have no idea what we want, but we are determined to find one that fits our style. We show you our entire car buying process and jump into several jeeps for a closer look. In the end, we leave the lot with a brand new jeep and head straight for the offroad trails. That's right, we take our brand new Jeep to the nearest offroad experience and join thousands of other jeeps in an epic weekend of trail riding and so much more. Join us as we become Jeep owners and show you our very first offroad experience.

    Congratulations and welcome! A few tips. NEVER use lockers if you're turning, lock and unlock through turns. Also NEVER use lockers on pavement unless you want to spend a lot of money. Also, as I'm sure you noticed, the sway bar disconnect makes a much better ride off road, but if you see a really off camber situation coming up, reconnect and you'll be much more stable. Then, disconnect again after you come out. Last but not least, follow tons of TH-cam channels for advice and enjoy the adventure. Don't go blowing a bunch of money yet. See what you need and buy as you find limitations. A winch should be a first purchase if you plan on wheeling alone.

    We went from a HD diesel truck and a 5th wheel to a small class C and a 2 door Jeep Willys. Got the 2 door because of a 5000 lb towing maximum with our Class C. But the 2 door is great on the trails and the turning radius is awesome.

    Wish you guys the best in your new Gladiator!! I've owned Jeeps since 2003 and always stuck with the Wrangler model until 2021 I test drove a new 2021 Gladiator and wanted to make sure it fit in our garage and it did with 3 ft. of space in the rear and 2ft to the front. I would never go back!! Gas mileage is 16.5 to 17.1 city and 22mpg highway. It's was great going thru deep snow. I have 32,000 on mine and love it!!! Yanni

    It’s pretty crazy what these vehicles are capable of doing, even in bone stock form. They are usually more capable than the nut behind the wheel! That being said you can turn with lockers, some situations it might be required to turn and be all locked up. You also shouldn’t drive on the pavement in 4wd either high or low. Presently I pull my 16 JKU with 37’s behind my Cornerstone, such a great way to see our country!

    The guy you rode with is right if you have $10000 the spend. On a budget the 1st thing you need is mud tires. 2 is a pull rope and things that go with it. 3 a locking diff. in the rear. 4 a CB radio. I love having my winch but w/a new bumper and winch ,about $2000. You may never get into 4 wheeling that has to have a lift kit. I've jeeped for 40 years and I have never gotten into rock crawling , which is where you'll have to have a lift the most. You will also have the state of mind that it is ok to dent your jeep and it's OK. The same can be said about really HD trail riding too. Oh! I forgot about the rock sliders for the sides under the doors and I don't mean the silly chrome ones that will dent and bend easy.

    Great choice! You’re gonna have a better time off-road by changing those wheels back to a 17”. More tire , less wheel is better for off-road . Like the white Rubicon.

    Your wheel base is longer than the 2/4 dr. jeep. Wish you were looking at the jeep with the driver at the end of this vehicle in lieu of a sales person looking to make a big commission. Wonder what your driver would of recommended?

  • @husker_nation
    @husker_nation 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Welcome to the Jeep community! Here are some recommendations: Always ask questions and let people know you're new. I'd recommend getting a GMRS radio instead of CB. 4L is only used for off-roading. Sway bar disconnect allows more articulation for the tires. When you need the lockers, always start with the rear one before you use the front one. Also, don't forget about the Jeep wave and I'm sure you'll get your first duck here soon

    There's Easter eggs on your jeep gladiator as well. For example, Rick Pewe' ( works for an offroad magazine) sandals are near the windshield wipers and the area code of where the jeep was first built is on the side of the bed of the truck.

    This episode hurt! I just traded my 2020 Gladiator for a F150 Powerboost to pull our camper. I installed a two inch lift with 35s and my doors and top was off 6 months a year. You will absolutely love this vehicle better then any other you owned. Don’t listen to all the idiots who hate Jeeps because they are the best off road vehicles and Toyota’s can’t keep up!

    Awesome looking Jeep! I love the orange accents throughout too. I just picked up my new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in December and I'm loving it. I've taken it on a couple easy trails so far but would love to learn more and do more with it offroad. Driving the Jeep is addicting and so much fun. I was also looking into that Thor's Lightning 4 tire system. I am definitely not prepared either for trails lol. I need to figure out a shopping list for recovery gear and such. I have no idea what all I need.

    I miss having a jeep. There's not anything like jeeping. Our first jeep was a 1964 gladiator (pickup), the second a 1965 wagoneer that we camped in. Our third was was a 1981 C-J7 2-door Lorado with removable top, doors and fold down windshield. For just pure fun it was the most fun. I have a 4x4 Chevy Silverado and it has been fun but it was designed as a workhorse which has been it's primary use. For high way riding in comfort a longer wheel base is smoother. For just fun jeeping the C-J7 and C-J7 or modern model. On hard surfaces for long distances go to two wheel drive. If you fail to you will eventually learn why the hard way. When you are comfortable with flat land jeeping come to the Four Corners of New Mexico and run arroyos, and sandstone areas then do some sandstone rock climbing with the locals. If you are off road alone I recommend 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel high. Save the 4 wheel low range to get yourself out of a mess. There may not be trees everywhere you go to use the wench to pull the jeep out of a bad situation. Have fun and stay safe.

Sadly that colour is not available in Australia. Love the Chanell, enjoy every minute. Welcome to Just Empty Every Pocket :)
    We just bought my wife a Mojave in November, and she LOVES it, but she won't let me take it out on the trails. We take my Wrangler on the trail runs and the deflating system (along with the Viair I have under my hood) is one of those things I love. Watching your ride reminds me why I like the shorter wheelbase of the 2dr. :D
    Are you planning on making this a toad? Looks like you had a great time!

      @discoveryboundrv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congratulations on the new Jeep! We don’t blame her. If you listen closely to the video you can hear the bushes scratching on the Jeep. 🤣 We have our portable Viar pump, but we like the way you have it. Onboard air is so much easier. We talked a LOT about towing and determining if we wanted to invest money to tow. We have decided not to do it. In our upcoming videos we will talk about that and the reason why. We have big plans. 😀 You said it right, just empty every pocket.

      Go with the `Hothead Headliners` with the sound assassin strips. Easy to install yourself. I have a 2020 Rubicon also. I've been on all kinds of trails and you are in for a ton of fun. Worth every penny ! @@discoveryboundrv

    Why do most people have their introduction music so loud? I always have to turn down my volume because my speakers blast. Ugh!

      We are amateur video editors and we are still learning. It’s pretty tough to get videos produced every week. If there was an easy button for sound, I would definitely hit it. 😀

    You have joined the cult of jeep. My brother is a member. It's as bad as the cult of Harley Davidson.

    Make sure you do your research and do those Jeep mods right the first time, or you will be broke for sure.

    The new Jeep 2023 Rubicons Gladiator would have been close to the same price as the used 20 you bought. Why? They don't SELL and the prices are falling! If you financed it the interest rate would be a lot less also. About the same payment as you have on the used one. These folks took advantage of the fact you knew nothing about Jeeps. BTW a water separator is what's on a diesel truck! Not a JEEP! The sales lady was clueless as to what a Jeep is.
