I seriously love your teaching style “say yes don’t stress”. I often fudge little things if I have too many/not enough stitches but I love that I now have “permission” to do it. You’re right. No one will ever know! ❤️

I'm so excited to knit this. So many new techniques for me, I'll have to keep repeating "say yes don't stress" while knitting. I stopped watching the video to decide the order of my colors I labeled all the ball bands. Love the way you take care of the ends so you don't have to go crazy weaving them in at the end. Stephen you're a genius can't wait to start.

I decided last minute to join the fun, ordered my yarn, bought the pattern. When I read the pattern I was sure I was in over my head. It was like a foreign language (I am a pretty basic knitter and knew this would be a stretch) thank goodness for your video. You explain everything so clearly. I may have to knit and pause, knit and pause but after seeing the video I feel like I will be able knit this pattern, you explain things so clearly.
That’s how I started and I have learned so much each year! He is a great instructor!

I'm not knitting this project right now, I'm just knitting away at some socks and enjoying the video ☺ I am just basking in everyone's beautiful work and color palettes and loving it all ❤ can't wait to knit this up someday
I’m knitting KAL and didn’t watch video before doing the last clue. Darn. I ended up with only 26 I-cord loops because I thought the K4 was between the loops and not including the 3 stitches on the I-cord. A frogging I will go. Learned that I need to watch video as I go.
But I do like it so far.
His pattern is really clear, and if you watch the video as you go it's even easier since he explains all the complicated bits :) Would recommend, and you have the advantage of knowing what it looks like in advance, I'm avoiding all spoilers! :P
This is my first Stephen West pattern as well as my first knit along. Love the teaching style, videos are great to watch and then do. I am looking forward to learning new techniques.
This is incredible! Such a luxury to have not only all the color inspiration and guidance, but also all of the beautifully presented techniques tutorials. I can’t believe how close I came to missing out on this MKAL (what is one more WIP? 🤫)! And Clue 1 is stunning!

I started to watch this video yesterday, just so I could set in my head a picture of the pattern. This morning, I finally finished Slipstraveganza! Then, went to a yarn crawl, where I overhead a woman who was looking for a color "pop" for her Shawlography! As for myself, I got some mohair --- started to use it right away! A lot to pay attention to, but it is all just knit and purl! I am loving this pattern so far. Stephan, I really do appreciate your creativity, imagination, and these wonderful videos! Hugs.
Wow! I choose my colours like the necklace my Egyptians friends find in excavation, here, in Egypt, and the beginning of the shawl looks like an Egyptian necklace!! Love it. Thanks so much.

I messed up big time and on section 2 I knit the weight side on the wrong side and thought I’d have to rip back and re do it but I decided to follow you advice and say yes don’t stress and on the last 2 stripes knit it correctly and now I have documentation of how far I’ve come this is my first shawl btw
You are just the best teacher - say yes don’t stress is an amazing concept and SO encouraging to less experienced knitter to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new

This is my fifth ever knitted project ( I was a crocheter) but you're genuinely such a great teacher I'm not too worried! 🥰 Also I appreciate the tips for how to recover from small mistakes and what matters and what doesn't - that's not something experienced folks often think to tell people!

Love the instructional video for this shawl. This is my knitting challenge for 2022. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I am enjoying learning new techniques and your relaxed attitude to extra stitches or not enough stitches it great.
Am working on my 4th wedge section. Really enjoying it so. Watched all of the video, and I'm not too sure about the i-cord loops. I'll see how I feel when get there. Loved the video.

I just started making this shawl.
Before this, I had only made some socks and a sweater and was pretty uncertain about this huge project, but you do a fantastic job at explaining all the techniques.
So far I´ve only come to the second short row wedge and i´ve already learned 3 or 4 new techniques with this and I´m excited to learn much more
Going to start in the weekend. My colors A-E : middle blue, creme, dark brown, light grey and curry. Looks very nice already. Regards from the Netherlands.
