Evangelion is such a whack experience... All this, only to forget what that *thing* was, the *thing* that made me feel that feeling, not just at this part, but through every story beat in the second half of the show + movie. After a month, I started to rewatch the second half of the episodes to try to remember what that *thing* was, and realized that I had forgotten such a... that feeling... part of the show, where it show's Asuka's memories of her mother. The strangest part about this, is that I forgot what the *thing* was after looking up other people's reactions online. It may have been a once in a lifetime experience.
