I don't watch zbiotic promotions anymore, as we've seen them all 100000000 times. We all can probably write our own zbiotic commercial just from memory. But bc they are sponsoring bourbon bill, this is the only channel I'll watch the whole thing time and time again... So zbiotic keep sponsorship on the best bourbon channel out there, bourbon bill!
Haha thank you Jesus!
@@bourbonbill by the way I mentioned b4 that I had passed on the hardin's creek 211 @ 150 (got the other HC bottles except Clermont bc I never saw it in the wild) but after your suggestion I came upon another 211 and got it, now I have been looking for a backup, gonna have to drive outta my way and see if I can get a backup! Thanks for your important insights on what to get and what to skip!
@@jesusjones3014haha yeah I loved the releases from last year and even had the Frankfort win my bourbon of the year but that Jacob’s well batch 2 just slaps it
Bourbon Bill for Bourbon Pres
Haha I’ll accept the belt if nominated lol
KoK is going for $2-3 large in NY. that's the only reason u see it on the shelves. for $500 it would be long gone
Wow that’s a chunk of change for sure. I don’t pay 500 for anything but agree that ever over the higher msrp it would be gone quick
Was looking forward to this video and it did not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic reactions, notes, and advice. Well done, Bill! And gratz on the paid promotion!!
Regarding the GTS, I got lucky with the TW lottery and scored it at retail. In a fictional world, I would probably pay up to $300-350 for it. When not drinking it in a blind with other bangers, I find that GTS to be very complex. I'll notice something different in each sip and the finish is really long.
Thanks for watching and for the GTS sample! It’s always crazy how stuff shakes out in a blind. I wish I could win a GTS in the Pa lottery but always next year haha
Just saw a review of the new Forester President's Choice (9.75 years, 110 proof) and Sara Night said it might be better than KoK! "Best thing tasted this year."
I saw that lol. I think I might have a presidents choice coming soon so I’ll do a review if I get it but my sample of KOK is gone lol
Nice blind, some heavy hitters. I was only able to get my hands on the Boston Hardins Creek.
That was my second place of last years triple Hardins creek blind but the Jacob’s well beats all 3
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was some EPIC hand shaking at the beginning!!! 😂 But, then we got a little bonus hand shake @ 10:15 😂
Regarding the line-up... DANG!!! You are one lucky dude to get to try all these hitters! Guess I need to find a Hardins Creek somewhere. I don't pay secondary either although I did pay $220 cash each for a 2020 GTS and THHandy. That 2020 Handy was awesome! Man if you don't get on Matt Maddness I'm going to boycott it this year!
Haha yeah it was a great time for me to try them for sure. And yeah I’m not a secondary guy but yeah find a Hardins creek Jacob’s well batch 2 the 211 month one it’s probably the only bottle on there available and even if you pay a little above msrp secondary if you will is still cheap on them. Never tried a Thomas Handy always hear they are good though. I don’t know about Matt Maddness didn’t hear anything about it figured I didn’t make the cut a bunch of weird podcast people seem to be getting the slots
I see no Russell's 13 this year but Russell's 15 coming July 1st at $250 msrp.
Yeah I’m excited to maybe get that one but of course hate the price but the RR13 has done well in my bourbons of the year every year
RR CNF or CNC might be a better option than RR13.
I heard the RR single Rick from 2023 was really good and beat RR13 but I had heard the one from 2022 wasn’t as good but yeah they are always an option just don’t own them even harder to get than RR13
I do love that Jacob’s Well. Glad it performed so well. I even managed to get a backup bottle of it. Great comparisons today.
Yeah it’s the real winner when you factor in age and availability I need a backup bottle of it myself only have the one
Envious of that backup, James. I can buy another one for sure, but I also don't want a divorce. Lol. Cheers and enjoy it.
@@The_Profezorwait until she goes out of town haha
I was 10 minutes late for the HH 18 year. I was very sad. HH bib is so good!
I wouldn’t sweat this one I didn’t get a chance to try it but all reviews I’ve seen say it’s not nearly as good as HH17 and probably overpriced at its msrp so don’t get too much fomo on that one
@@bourbonbill definitely should have been 180 dollhairs.
@@pitt1108yeah that’s my thought as well they over reached on that one
What about Coy Hill? (I saw another channel do a blind and put Coy Hill above King of Kentucky and Lucky Seven 14.)
I should have put coy hill I do really love that bottle it would be interesting because it doesn’t have a ton of age on it but the flavor is maxed out. It wouldn’t have finished last. May have edged into 3rd at best but wouldn’t have gotten 1st or 2nd
Earlier today another whiskey channel -- same number of subscribers as you -- announced they're starting a Patreon. Mentioned giveaways to kick it off and monthly giveaways. You ever thought about starting a Patreon?
I have one already actually info in the description
Unrelated observation... If that's a Spyderco Delica, I have that same blade. Spectacular EDC.
Close it’s a spyderco para 3 lightweight. I also got a lil native compression lock love the spyderco stuff
Good Morning BB. Thanks for another Fantastic Vid. Might be the Best of Best....In Context and Bourbon so to speak. Throughly enjoyed every ooh, ahhh...wow...damn...god...etc. Just Great stuff. Thanks again. You are killing it!
Thanks Skip
@bourbonbill BB... its Skip by the way. No biggie..you can me Steve or Stew...or like a lot of other people call me Chip. All good. Love the channel...and what you do.
@@gipstetz6720I knew that lol corrected it I have a friend name Steve that has a slightly different last name my bad I always got that confused
When a huhveeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy special episode is legit huhveeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy special...
This one is very very veeerrrryyy special lol
I think you forgot about 13th colony hahaha, or you drank it all 😂
Haha I didn’t have any double oak left I drank all my samples and this was filmed before you sent some of the 10yr. I should have included my 13th rye but a rye video might be coming in the future
Fun episode to watch… looking at the thumbnail I wasnt sure if your underwear would make it through the entire episode.
Glad they did.
Barely made it
@@bourbonbill kicking myself in the butt. Had a chance to get all the hardins creek in 200 mls back in march at the distillery. Passed em all up because I didnt want to drop $70 on each.
Did have a pour of each one at the bar and they were absolutely phenomenal.
@@GLENBECKHAMyeah the sampler kit was fun and I loved all of those but no lie the Jacob’s well batch 2 smokes them all
@@bourbonbill wow that says a lot. If I ever see the jacobs well batch 2 Ill pick it up for sure.
Please help and point me to these $200 bottles of Hardin Creek Jacob’s Well 2
Seen a couple in trade groups and at one time you could get them on bourbon hunt USA but they significantly raised their price
Down goes the King! Glad you liked the sample. I tried the 2021 14 yr. vs. a friend's 2023 16 yr. recently and we couldn't pick a winner. As mentioned already MSRP is 299. HH17 is so good, wish I had one!
Thanks again Eric for sending the sample! And it was really good. Interesting to hear the 16 didn’t fair noticeably better than the 14
I think people assume the 16 year must be better than the 14 year ones since it’s older and has a bronze label, but I’ve had the same experience as well
I realized I don’t have a Hardin’s Creek Jacob’s Well and I don’t want to be an idiot so I immediately ordered a bottle
Hahah I knew you were a smart man Jordan. Remember you want the 211 month batch 2. Batch 1 was only 184 months very good but not quite the same animal
@@bourbonbillthe picture shows 211 months but description does not. We’ll see what shows up. Was 202 after shipping, not bad for a 17yr limited I think.
@@JordanVanderLaanno not bad at all msrp was 180 ish so great price shipped
Ordered it before I finished the video, now I wish I ordered two!
@@JordanVanderLaan,
Are you in a control state that you can get it at that price? (All online retailers I've seen offer it at a much higher price.)
Great review Bill. KOK is retail 299 and go for 2k on secondary. HH17 is an absolute beast and blows away HH18. I think even william heaven hill 17 distillery only beats HH18. Glad you got to try KOK I've never had it. Also so good to see Hardins creek 211 score so well. I picked it up a few months ago to round out that Hardins collection. Great whiskey!!
The secondary pricing is outrageous lol. I’ve never tried one of William heaven hill bottles but want to badly
@@bourbonbill They can be very good or just meh. The best I had was the 2019 12 year cask strength purple label. That was a beast. The following year was a 13 year bottled in bond and it was just ok. In blinds it did not stand out and they are very expensive.
Good point. There was something a little off on the palette of WHH17 that I didn't like. Preferred the WHH15, but HH17 is superior to both.
