Most relaxing tour channel on TH-cam.
For a small boat that is a very smart cockpit layout giving much more value to socializing and dining.
For what most people want from boating, this hits something of a sweet-spot. Great for a family of 4/5, ability to take another couple of people on the converted dinette, decent cruising range, but paired to a serious turn of speed and outdoor accommodation for fun on the water!
All in a manageable sized package. I like it, a lot!

Saw the thumbnail and thought Smugglers Blues 3 straight away, only for Nick to say the same thing in the first 5 seconds 😂
It's just amazing and Best part is use of white color as it's feel very light-filled areas... and very spacious boat.. with lots of beds for 2,3 and 4🤣🤣🤣🤣...

Good very flexible layout, like this one a lot. Only change would be the mirrored walls in cabin 2. I'd scare myself to death when waking up!
A Few Thoughts:
I've noticed how quite a few manufacturers are going with the lighter finishes on the sub 50-footers lately... It makes for a much more 'airy' open space that doesn't feel like a dungeon.
The lack of a sunpad makes for a perfect gathering/entertaining area for a boat this size. Simply huge! The upholstery and finishes are clean, smooth and proper loooking.
Should've pointed out the 'glass shelf' over the hob... It's tiny little detail, but I feature I love seeing if for nothing more than extra counter space it creates, not to mention the safety ramifications. LOVE it when the fridge door is dressed in the same cabinetry as the rest of the galley...! Such a super yacht touch.
The 'bed extender' in the Owner's Cabin is absolutely brilliant. Ever inch counts on a 40-footer!
Cabin #2 is very cool... So often the guest cabin resembles a sardine can in which your friends have to be 'wedged' into bed! This design is actually something I would be proud to offer another couple. Just love it... "Or a couple no interested in that stuff." I chortled... Full disclosure: I'm a married guy. My wife and I love each other to pieces, but - we would probably look at each other and bust out laughing if we were offered a V-berth by an owner when he sez "I can make these two join each other in the middle..." (We can handle sleeping next to each other WITHOUT the ability to wake the other up...!)
LOVE the step feature at the helm... The simplest solutions always look brilliant in action.
The more than ample space for sun pads on the foredeck justifies not wasting space for such in the aft cockpit. Clever.
Although I've never required the service of a marine mechanich, I'd venture to say they're well compensated. I can't imagine someone in an area that small doing some involved engine work. Imagine replacing an engine.

This is a fun boat to be sure, but I think Nick and his better half (Captain Marianne) would enjoy SB2 much more in 2021.

As a young adult just out of college, working away, these are all something to aspire to. I remember when I fell in love with yachts when I was young, in the Bahamas seeing “My Girl” a Westport 130. All these are something for me to aspire to. Keep on going and wish you the best.

That is a huge lounge area on the main deck! I like how they used the light wood finish and long hull windows in the interior, gives a light and airy feel to it. Another great looking hardtop sports cruiser, thanks Nick.

A fantastic tour, but you can see (and hear) the quality is a step down from the likes of Princess and Sunseeker. If it were me seeking Smugglers Blues 3, I might look for an older boat with that little bit more quality. Bring on the polished cherry wood and Miele appliances !!

I was thinking the same, it has a flat-pack furniture look and sound to it, I would most likely be looking at a Fairline, though. 😁

Looks like a nice boat, though the cabinetry isn’t up to what you find on some of the older boats.
prefer that 2004 Fairline Squadron 55 as the SB3 replacement. It oozes class....as do you!
I totally agree Patrick. Older boat with loads of character, tons of space to socialise and relax, 2 helms, much less money for a lot of boat.
The bigger the boat the greater the mooring fees and the greater they wintering & maintenance & fuel costs. Buying a boat is one thing, keeping it seaworthy is another. Especially as it's heading it's 2nd decade. (And a Fairline will often have been ridden hard, boats with oomph tend to).

Its funny how tastes in boats differ. Nick loves it, and I understand why, but to me this kind of boat is as undesirable as it gets. I personally like the long distance cruisers and sailing yachts so much more.

The Fairline Squadron 55 is much better than this one. In my view, this one is so similar to what you already have. I prefer the Fairline for the next Smuggler's, but again, this is just my opinion. 15 more feet, and a fly bridge!
Bigger boat bigger fuel bill. More expensive berthing and on and on. That 55 has some expensive bills coming up.

Lovely boat the only thing I would like different would be to lose the side decks so the cockpit is bigger , not that it's not already it's a great size but more so with access by the helm up to the bow as it's clearly a great family boat and I think that set up especially if you have kids would be safer .... keep the million views vids coming Nick it could be SB3 😂👍

Perfect choice for your next upgrade. Really nice layout on deck for socialising with the wet bar. And the hardtop means no messing with a biminy. Great sunroof. Also an upgrade on the kitchen area for Marianne to record her TH-cam on the go! The master cabin would be handy. No more having to lower yourself into a low bed recess. Are you ready for twin engines??

I think these open cabin set ups are much better suited for a warmer climate than or UK one. There's probably only 2 to 3 months a year you can comfortably have it all open in the UK.

If I was you, and if you want to stay with Jeanneau, I’d strongly consider the prestige fly bridge. So much more versatile comparing to hardtops.
Another great tour Nick ... But I just can’t think why anyone would spend Over 300k on a new boat like this .... when you get far more for your money in Size & Quality if you look at 10 to 15 years old examples.... there are so many great boats out there even 20 or 30 years old that are in great condition....😎👍🤷♂️🤷♂️
The only problem with 10-15 year old boats is that they're generally 10-15 years old. It's why they're cheaper 🙂

It was interesting reading what other people's thoughts are on the cost vs build quality, I'm inclined to agree, its a lovely boat but you'd get much more for your money going down in the years....surprised you haven't been given an extended loan of something to review...for a couple of months.

That's a very well thought out boat. Engine compartment is tight but usable. Sleeping arrangements are stellar for a smaller boat. I could definitely see this being smugglers blues 3 for sure. Great review as always. Thanks for that.
