this video was awesome to watch! I'm a very avid bowler, tournaments and all. I personally have 2 300s! took me 5 years of bowling almost 3 nights a week. now, I currently average 210! keep it up!
As a college bowler, this was pretty sick to watch. I liked the manner in which you guys picked up the game, you guys went at it and picked up things that most people wouldn't get down, and it was a nice laugh. And yes, those lanes you were bowling on were very dry. And fingers first.
Correction, The correct way for a better grip and control is to insert fingers first, then thumb. you will get a cleaner release and more leverage at the bottom of the swing, your thumb will come out easier so your fingers can grab the ball. There are very few pros that put thier thumb in first, Tommy Jones is the only one that comes to mind at the moment.
stilltlrforlife exactly I was coming down here to say that but you said it first I used to put my thumb in first and I had kids of problems with my ball sticking
Kenny Yea, I tried it to see how it felt, I had the same issue, my fingers had no leverage anf my thumb had a hard time coming out, it was like trying to roll the ball with just my thumb in the ball and no fingers, but to each thier own I guess, Tommy Jones obviously has alot of success with it.
I’m an Iowa native, bowling is my life, and yet I never stumbled onto this video until today?? I’ve even bowled with Tom Hess on multiple occasions. Great guy off the lanes, though he has a huge intimidation factor on the lanes. This is super well put together and entertaining the whole way through!
the ending is great. bowling, same as many other sport is just form/execution/practice and years of perfecting your style and technique with the physics put into the lane and the ball, but you dont just study yourself, you also study the lanes and how the oil breaks oil and how your ball surface affects the oils. Such as taking it off or pushing it down the lane. Im 20, bowled for 14 years competitively and ive gotten a couple but its definitely going to be an achievement ill be very proud of everytime i do hit it, because its the final ceiling of this sport.
Craig Bull Judging by all the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones gear featured in this video, and that everywhere they travelled was centered around Iowa, I’m going to say that it is a safe bet to say they are in Iowa
Camperspotted88 Put fingers in first, half way through the whole to reduce possibility of getting them stuck, put thum in all the way, to have a firm grip, always release the thumb first within' launch of the bowling ball, then fingers.
I was going to be extremely pissed if ANY of these dudes shot 300 in this amount of time. That shit takes years to do, and some never do get there. Blessed to have multiple.
Good video guys. More than anything, yall need to get hooked up with a bowling coach and work on your mechanics. Even just scoping out a league bowler that you see with great form can help you. Cheers! -David
Who had the best average after this experiment? Seems like the guy with the long blonde hair developed the best. Good fun video. Is anyone still bowling for competition?
Excellent video, not so much re bowling, but re life. Some would say you didn't reach your goal, which is true if bowling 300 was your goal. Myself, I think your goal was to make a great video, and you accomplished that. Anything is possible if you put in the time and energy. Choose a goal, create a plan, and make it happen! Dawson and guys, excellent work!
work on finishing position. keep your shoulders square with the pins, dont turn them. also look at arrows for targeting, also follow through. make sure arm is going towards your target. work on an open handed release for curve balls, with thumb faced straight up and hand pointing towards your target.
you can't bowl a 300 with a straight ball.. the probability of getting a strike even with a PERFECTLY placed shot is so low with this method getting a 300 is just not plausible at all
As a professional bowler, this video is disgraceful. Dirtball seems to know nothing about form and bowling in general and brings the value of this video down significantly
Agario Dude When you are right handed, and the lanes are not oiled, everything will pull left. The ball is like the tire on your car, and oil is like ice. Less ice means more traction for the tire causing it to over hook and go left.
Its been 5 years, I want a reunion match!

J Martin 800 yet? Never got a perfect game tho

stilltlrforlife ya and it doesn't really matter if we do good with it bc each bowler has their own style
Kenny agreed, thats what makes this sport so much fun. more than one way to get it done
Ronnie Russell also does thumb first, not a whole lot of people notice it

This video was really good!
Logan Fossum hey I'm 13 just like you and I'm getting coached for bowling. Could you give me any tips
Logan Fossum I stroke my ball into the pocket
LoganFossum you are awesome I was your 2000th subscriber
LoganFossum I love your vids!!!
Hey, it's LOFO!!!!! I'm his #1 fan, LOL
Good video! Took me 4 years to get my first 300, and 7 more years to get the 2nd. Keep working at it and sooner or later you will achieve your goal.

So I don’t think that any
Of you guys are gonna become pro bowlers.... but you might end up as a filmmaker. Good job, I enjoyed it very much
One of the bowlers at the ridge wood tournament was actually at my local center here in Mobile, Al yesterday!! So cool
The guy bowled 8 strikes and I was like dang
this is awsome, love that you guys got tom hess
Sooooo...You began the quest for a 300 and it just ends with a doubles tournament? No info on progression or anything?
Lol yeah. They thought they'd go from average bowlers to bowling a 300 in 16 days? I know really solid bowlers that haven't hit a 300 in 10 years.
Interesting video just wondering if you guys pursued getting better at bowling any by joining a leauge or something after you were done with the video
I'm dying to get a mini bowling set
Great video and edits man keep it up you will grow fast!
that was a very nice video guys well done!!
Where are you guys from? Saw the bottle of Hillbilly Holler from Fareway, so you're definitely in the midwest...
Craig Bull Judging by all the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones gear featured in this video, and that everywhere they travelled was centered around Iowa, I’m going to say that it is a safe bet to say they are in Iowa
Very nice video guys! Enjoyable for real
Good job guys, was that plaza lanes in Des Moines?
whats the song at the end?
Your supposed to put fingers in first
No you are not. You put your thumb in first in order to reduce any grabbing of the ball.
99 percent of bowlers put their fingers in first. Tommy Jones is the only PBA bowlers that I'm aware of who puts thumb first.
Wrong, you noob
Caitlin Spence it’s preference. People always think there is only one way to do shit..
Camperspotted88 Put fingers in first, half way through the whole to reduce possibility of getting them stuck, put thum in all the way, to have a firm grip, always release the thumb first within' launch of the bowling ball, then fingers.
Nice video do you guys own the bowling alley?
Nice vid. You watched the secret to a perfect strike video I can tell.
you got me😉
i have been leauge and tournament bowling for 20 years 6 years ago i shot my first 300 with some coaching and lots of practice you could get 1 someday
I was going to be extremely pissed if ANY of these dudes shot 300 in this amount of time. That shit takes years to do, and some never do get there. Blessed to have multiple.

I love it how he describes the sequence of the pin setter he named three things wrong😂😂😂
Who had the best average after this experiment? Seems like the guy with the long blonde hair developed the best. Good fun video. Is anyone still bowling for competition?
you actually want the ball on angle because it helps give it the hook
Excellent video, not so much re bowling, but re life.

You guys live in iowa? So cool to see! great video

The first league I ever bowled, I was all of a 118 average. Now I am close to a 200. You should all own your own shoes by now.
Great Video!
You removed the video?
great vid guys just bowled my first 300 a few weeks ago been bowling for along time never thought i get one but now i want 2
Wuh. Bowling in central Iowa and you didn't invite me? Can I bowl with you next time
What was the highest game bowled by any of you guys

Nooo put your fingers in first 😭 Great video though!
Savannah White unless your 2 handed i guess
It's coaster bots outro song

Foul line was off huh?
you can't bowl a 300 with a straight ball.. the probability of getting a strike even with a PERFECTLY placed shot is so low with this method getting a 300 is just not plausible at all
i have used house balls never got a 300 but i have gotten strikes!
They used to back in the 40's
Micah Neese Thats because they used the same release method we use today just straighter down the lane. They still had rotation back then
My guy...fingers in first...😐
I caught that too. Ass backwards
There are pros that put thumb first
Tommy Jones puts his fingers in first so...
Hey Logan! Check out his channel!
As a professional bowler, this video is disgraceful. Dirtball seems to know nothing about form and bowling in general and brings the value of this video down significantly
23:28 you fouled sir lol
the long haired guys' span and grips annoyed the hell out of me. nice video though
btw who the fuck cares if you put your fingers in first or not as long as you get the 3 in wink wink
fingers in first
alot of wrong info that i find this very funny
Your excuse was "the lanes weren't oiled very well" but almost everything I saw you pulled it way left😂

Day 1, y'all SUCKED! 😂
When he is teaching how to bowl properly, he's completely wrong. I mean some of the stuff he is saying is right but most of it is wrong,
I coulda beat this guys lol
