Imagine burning consistent pain from your shoulder all the way down to the tips of your fingers all the time for over a year. Then you meet one of these Docs and the next time you see him he has just done a double disk replacement and the pain is just gone. Nothing replaced it, no goofy feelings, it’s just normal again. You guys rock, I’m 5 weeks post op and haven’t felt this good in years.🎉

I had a massive staphylococcus infection in my neck which went undiagnosed for 7 days. I was paralysed down my right hand side and couldn’t urinate. I was dying. Then a wonderful neurosurgeon operated on me at 11pm on a Sunday night and cleaned out most of the pus. 6 weeks on IV antibiotics and rehab and I learnt to walk again. I can’t describe how much of a blessing this was. Marvellous people!

This really hits home. My 3-year-old had a brain tumor removed. I have so much respect for all surgeons but Neuro especially (for a good reason). I don't even know how to thank the surgeon that performed the procedure on my daughter. No more seizures or vomiting just a normal kid. Sooo much respect for your dedication!! Thank you!!!

Thank you Dr. McLaughlin for you years of study, your choice of study and your discipline in practice of your craft. My neurosurgeon played rock music during my surgery in 2004 (so I was told). He’s my hero and I am so grateful for his expertise as I am sure that is the way your patients feel about you.

Dear Mark, how wonderful. I look forward to your future chapters here.
I think a lot has changed and developed since my surgery by you, but your passion and dedication and desire to be always your best- what ever ways you study and prepare- are unfaltering. ( And I know both your parents would be so proud of your continuing ventures).
I read a LOT, about my problems and chronic pain...probably much, much more than most lay people...and I study a lot, but what has always been a constant, is that what ever my problems now, I HAD to have- NEEDED to have- YOUR surgery. And thank God you were trustworthy.
I appreciate you, and, regardless of all your clinical knowledge and techniques, you have a GIFT of patient caring and patient respect...I suppose some would call it "bedside manner"...but when you LISTEN to a patient, and look into a patient's EYES, I hope you never lose that special part of you.
    Best wishes... 💕

Checklist are also huge in medicine, very important to minimize error. Seems like you are very passionate about what you do, and thats great to know. Unfortunately, some in healthcare are not and don't put the patient first.
