I love the way how shark tank is not just about picking whom to invest. The way mark educated her about marketing, earned my respect.

For someone with many degrees and an MBA you'd expect better judgement and respect towards investors.

I work in hotels..
Hotels use duvet covers for their inserts..
If she could prove that this would save overall time on cleaning rooms vs using normal duvet covers then yes..
She would also have to drastically get the cost down to attract hotel chains to buy this also..
I think though most hotels don’t have big bed headboards in their rooms.
@@johnl.7754 you could just unzip it and place the insert under the top duvet sheet and then cover it and zip it up quick I think but a better demonstration with a professional housekeeper be best I think to get overall insight

Even tho her product may be of quality, it seems like the whole focus was on how it saves time by being easy to put on the bed. Most people don't google "time saving duvets" when shopping for one. They look for materials, colors, reputation and all over quality. Not just some no name blanket that says well, it's saves time!

She got on the show for entertainment purposes. Don't forget, Shark Tank's primary goal is to entertain. This is why the pitches are all a bit OTT. They have to be entertaining and amusing for the pitch to be shown on TV.

Duvet covers are a nightmare, especially king size ones. I really like the way it opens!
Not just royalty. In Germany it was the only type of blankets (with these covers). Nice warm in freezing cold households. Since our only way of heating was coal and wood.

Changing duvet cover for a normal family is just 2 or 3 months once thing. So time saving is not a essential. But for hotels, changing duvet cover is EVERYDAY, time saving is important, so I would suggest she sell to hotels.

With duvet covers, all you need to do is put your hands into the corners, then grab the corners of the duvet, and shake the duvet cover down, and your cover is on.
That or the burrito method. But you're right, I would spend 40 to 60 dollars on this for the convenience but not an additional $100. And if you have a couple beds in the house this cost can get ridiculous especially if you want a backup cover for wash days.

No one, absolutely no one, puts on a duvet cover in the way shown in the initial demonstration.
It's too expensive for what it is plus not a lot of people have the need for duvet covers..if she can get her costs down to make it then her customer costs would go down and possibly get more sales..
"Really started to sell" does not equal $28,000 in a whole year to me unfortunately. I live in a place where it's very low cost(Wyoming) and even that would be considered very poor considering working at the McDonald's full time here they are paying $16/hr lol

the product doesn't save time when you know what you're doing with regular covers and with zippers on 3 sides I assume it would be slightly less comfortable aswell. Overall it's worse and costs more than regular covers, so obviously her sales are terrible.
The strangest thing was that she seemed surprised at the shark's dropping out every time.
