I would question the packaging, it is just an unprotected block of bread inside an unsealed box. The price of that thing is also ridiculous, 12 usd for a tiny loaf when normal freshly made loafs cost 2-3 usd in my country. Our stores also make their OWN bread at the store..
@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants Possibly, but the difference in health is probably not going to be worth 10-20 times the price (another comment said their full-sized loaf was $40, which would be the actual comparison) to the average person for a thing they buy every week. It might be a good product, but the pricing makes it a bit of a luxury item which is a weird place for bread to be.
I have never seen an entrepreneur with this low capacity of taking feedback. If you have to succedd you need to be able to hear all the feedback that comes your way and act when the feedback resonates with your gut. Finding fault in sharks doesn't make you any bit more successful.
Omg the end confessional. He said he can’t believe the sharks don’t believe in the product. That’s shows he wasn’t listening. His emotionality behind his dad story is what’s blindin him to the logic. He needs to come down to earth and listen to Mark’s advice. In other news: Barbara was out before the segment started filming.
My father being an entrepreneur for 40 years always said "your sales won't matter until your purchasing isn't the best". That hit me when he was able to find 3 different ways to cut 5% from the best possible pricing we had from our suppliers. Our selling price was still the same but an extra 15% was coming into profits making net profit from 60% to 75% yeah net profit ! Also being a healthier and more sustainable option doesn't necessarily mean your cost are triple, we supply sportswear recycled and non recycled to biggest sportswear brand and the cost difference is 2-3 dollar for which the brand sells the sustainable for 20-30% more than normal one
I didn't understand anything here. What do you mean by "your sales won't matter until your purchasing isn't the best" and how did you cut 5% from your suppliers?
@@mariomaro7 I believe what they are saying is that no matter how much sales your business is selling or it’s revenue, if your costs/purchasing are high, you will have little too no margins. The original comment I believe said that they were able to cut 5-15% from their costs, boosting their margins from 60 to 75%
@@TheRealUndefined that makes no sense, and if it is what you say, he didn't articulate it very well. Costs should always be as low as possible obviously, but it's only one variable.

@@clintair130 That is true with most European cities. But again, most of the bakery products still have gluten in them. Clearly, if one doesn't have food sensitivity they fail to grasp the importance of it.
So, the range is about $7-12 a loaf. Mark is correct that they have failed to position why their bread is this expensive. If they can reduce the costs to $9,00 a loaf, then sell why their cube is better ( fresher, will last longer) then they can be more profitable.
Congrats welcome to market manipulation. Their logo? Also manipulation. Costco has similar bread for $6 already. It comes sliced and with more quantity. These people are just manipulative lying POS. There logo is even manipulative.
What’s wrong with them? What’s wrong with your company.? You sold $2mill worth of product and lost $1mill? You loose money on each new customer? Who in their right mind is going to invest in that at a $16mill evaluation? Answer = nobody.
I'm with Lori about healthier eating. I shop mostly the perimeter of the store and the Farmers Market and I cook and eat at home. I'm also concerned about the ingredients in this bread. They never said what they are. I much prefer to eat food as close to its natural state as possible.
Yes, one of the challenges with gluten free items is that some of the other ingredients are not that "healthy", Sometimes, it's best to train one's self not to eat certain foods at all. I no longer consume any kinds of breads, crackers etc. Pasta is problematic as well. One can make pasta out of vegetables but that's if one cooks from home like I do.
@@angelbulldog4934 Well, that's why you make bread with the "best in the area", but it is still not gluten free. To have a gluten free product, one has to have no wheat or grain based flours. One needs to be using a nut type flower like Almond flour or cashew flour. Once one has food allergies or correctly identifies said allergies, the way they eat is quite different. Since most people are not identified correctly, they don't realize that some of their autoimmune issues are caused by food sensitivity. The popularity of certain ways of eating like the Paleo diet, have no grains, no dairy, and often people's physical ailments are " cured" by changing how they eat.
He can't see what's wrong with some of the only kind of people that can afford their product. I have a family of 4,and it would literally cost me 25$ a day just for bread. That's 175$ a week,or just over 750$ a month....for bread. It's beyond elite pricing and limits how many people can buy it. Crazy
I’d never heard of Emma Grede before but I like her energy in the tank, she had a good explanation of the issues with their pitch/business and a good sense of humor about the product
I think if they lowered the customer acquisition cost and focused on the simplicity of the bread itself they wouldn’t be so bad off but I am myself as an average consumer would never pay that much for a loaf of bread
Really hate that people don't get that organic food being more expensive is just ridiculous and makes the decision to eat healthy next to impossible for most people who live paycheck to paycheck. The difference in pricing is a key factor and if the organic movement really wanted to "help" people they'd do something about the numbers. They could become NGOs, get tax credits or subsidies from government there are a million ways if it's really about helping society then put your money where your mouth is.
Unfortunately they can only help so much considering the cost to make, ship and buy organic product is way higher than non organic, which is why factories and big industry doesn’t try to keep things organic it’s hard and cost more. Obviously that price has to be passed on to the plate. Eating healthy isn’t eating just organic foods or things like their bread it’s making sure your diet is balanced with everything you personally need. Obviously the fresher and less preservatives the better a product will be but you have to just accept that it costs more to make it that way.

It still may have had wheat in it, so it still has gluten. Again with a Paleo diet, it has to have no grains, so all the other grains you mentioned are not in this bread. If one has auto immune conditions one has to have no grains.
There are a couple of other brands that sell the same bread (same ingredients) for $6-9 and the size is bigger. If you want, and have the time, you can make this bread at home for about $2.00. These two are trying to compete with much bigger fish.

I would question the packaging, it is just an unprotected block of bread inside an unsealed box. The price of that thing is also ridiculous, 12 usd for a tiny loaf when normal freshly made loafs cost 2-3 usd in my country. Our stores also make their OWN bread at the store..
Normal bread is less healthy for the body which is why it is cheaper.
@@TheSquareOnes They need to sell to the 1% or the 10% so that limits what they can do.

I gotta give it to them for keeping those smiles 😂 Cause the sharks were destroying them with facts.
The way mark pulled out that cube of bread and just laughed lol

I have never seen an entrepreneur with this low capacity of taking feedback. If you have to succedd you need to be able to hear all the feedback that comes your way and act when the feedback resonates with your gut. Finding fault in sharks doesn't make you any bit more successful.
Omg the end confessional. He said he can’t believe the sharks don’t believe in the product. That’s shows he wasn’t listening. They all literally said their product is amazing, delicious and a great fit for todays market, but that the price is waaaaay too high, which it is. The gluten free bread I buy has all the same benefits as theirs and it’s only $7
Right? This guy has hearing problem.
His emotionality behind his dad story is what’s blindin him to the logic. He needs to come down to earth and listen to Mark’s advice.
In other news: Barbara was out before the segment started filming.
when Barbara heard his business model she was like "ahh here's my chance to go out"
Before she got up that day. Don't blame her
No wonder the jargon and buzz words drove Mark nuts
This man with a straight face said "we aggressively drove CAC to the floor" after mentioning that CAC was $50
LOL
You know the people/ pitch is a mess when Barbara has legitimate reasons to go out
LOOOOL
@@mariomaro7 me too. Sounds like something new I'd like to learn
@@mariomaro7 I believe what they are saying is that no matter how much sales your business is selling or it’s revenue, if your costs/purchasing are high, you will have little too no margins. Your dad's quote makes zero sense.
@@TheRealUndefined that makes no sense, and if it is what you say, he didn't articulate it very well. Costs should always be as low as possible obviously, but it's only one variable.

I have to eat gluten free bread and there's no way in hell I'd ever be paying 12$ for a Bread Square 🤣🤣
Go to France you eat better bread than this for 4 euros (5 dollars) max... And I talk about real bread round not square soft...
@@tojibenquer9694 But it's not gluten free. If one is a celiac in France, it's like a nightmare.
I love Germany. Bakery on every corner.
The guy said in his speech he wants to make society healthier, but only the top 1 percent of society can afford the damn bread.
Congrats welcome to market manipulation. Their logo? Also manipulation. They told story about how this guys father lived after eating healthier and they tried to somehow connect that to bread they are selling to give you emotional need for it. Mark gave some solid advice at the end. I hope they’ve listened.
They clearly didnt
They are now selling their bread for like $50 bucks now

Essentially what he is giving them is generic advice and saying "if you keep failing keep trying". A lot of people try and fail and few ever find success.
That price is absurd. If it cost $6 they'd fly off the shelf.

You can make the healthiest and freshest homemade bread with the best possible ingredients for about 4-5 bucks.
@@Kaloyan.Dimitrov Much less than that. Flour (I buy the best in my area or a local gristmill), yeast, salt, water.
I'm not gluten-sensitive at all.

Dude read “How to Talk Businessman For Children” and thought mumbo-jumbo would save him in the end LOL
I think if they lowered the customer acquisition cost and focused on the simplicity of the bread itself they wouldn’t be so bad off but I am myself as an average consumer would never pay that much for a loaf of bread
half a loaf of bread*
Wow that ending sentence really just shows you what kind of business owners the6 are
Really hate that people don't get that organic food being more expensive is just ridiculous and makes the decision to eat healthy next to impossible for most people who live paycheck to paycheck.
Ir costs more for people to make.
Organic food is a feel good thing but essentially a con product.
As a french man who eats baguette every day, their pitch sounded really funny😂. A baguette costs only 1,20€ and never will I switch to something like this... I guess there is a market for it though
