No offense at all, Greg, but don’t you make a sh*t load of parts for jeeps too? As a Jeep owner, with 13 built for street (a slammed JT, JTR, JLR, CJ5/7/8 and JKR, to name a few), also built a few Tacos incl a 550whp XRunner, TRD Pro and Classic 86 BTTF tribute with modern KCs, bullet hole wheels and 37s lift 6”, im about to sell my 475hp/521tq 2.0L turbo (Garrett G25-550 turbo) JLR to go back to a 2024 TRD Pro Off Road… any advice?
It's cool, but that cost way more and had /needed way more parts, fab, work done to be a "jeep killer" and it's still a v6 .. would much rather have the v8 jeep wrangler, gladiator or even cherokee fully built up. And over a jeep I'd prefer a raptor r , ranger raptor or the bronco raptor with very few actual modifications needed to jump, off-road, rock crawl, sand dune, Baja race/drive fast in the desert, mudding and still be able to drive daily, tow my dirtbikes, quads, Harley or Ducati, snowmobiles ect .. still use for hunting/camping in back country/mountains ect for days and have room for everything I need and so on. This is just a Tacoma body on a fully completely custom everything else as cool as it is
Really appreciate the honesty of this guy. There's so much that went into this build, and it's pretty obvious that everything they did was waay over the top. And as anyone would be, he is proud to talk about what make this Taco extra special, but he also points out the negatives that come with some of these mods. There's no over-sell in his pitch ... Gotta admire and respect that.
I would get the doors if they could be swapped reasonably easy. I’ve had jeeps and loved that option but can’t run them exclusively on my truck. Make them and we will come!
This dude is cool as shit, he don’t back down from nothing and challenges the Tacoma community for feedback. I’m not in that community currently but planning a build. I will buy products from this company. When an owner is so committed to his company/employees/products, that’s a game changer.
Sir - Is this - Ive been seeing - Really a NEW pop thing ? To misSpell Probably as Prolly ? Or is it suggested 2 be cool ? I am just mid 40's likely out of touch man here
Step one to make a "Jeep Killer" make it like a Jeep. Straight axles and take off the doors lmao. I'm just joking, love this tacoma build, it'd go anywhere, and the manual is the cherry on top. Coming from a TJ owner.
One year later. Jeep owner here, not hating at all on the Tacoma; in fact, absolutely loving what this guy and his team have done to get the SLOTH where is at. Awesome work, y'all!!! If I may, and you probably have this tube doors in production already, but at 45:35 you asked for a goal... to make an easy transition from factory doors to FF doors, build a quick-release hinge that replaces the stock hinge on the doors and body and include an extra set to replace the part that stays on the stock doors; the FF doors would already have that part on them.
Honesty tho love everything about this truck! This is one beast! I'm interested in the sliders and also of course the doors! Glad to see he is in SC! I'll be hitting them up soon! Thanks TacomaBeast for the vid! Thanks FabFour for building a rig that we can go say hold up yeah we do have a Tacoma in the gang that does have that! Hope to see y'all soon!
That comment on the end about one lug at a time is truly what it’s about!! Crawling over what the next is spinning or bumping over!!!! That’s when you know your shit is RIGHT AND TIGHT!
so having a 2019 taco and looking at what to change as well as what can be changed - never did I imagine swapping doors. If we can get them to a quick swap (and to me that is 30 minutes) that would be awesome. My only "issue" is the aesthetics and how the doors are angular and not following the lines from the front fender and the bed line. me personally, I would like to see the doors a little higher up for the top of the tube doors to line up with the bed line right above the "sloths back". but this really opens my eyes to what can be done - just have to find the budget to make it happen.
Door height is based on arm on door during cruising. Too high and arm on door wont be comfortable. U want form or function? Owner choose function, your thumbs up show form. There is no right answer.
You'd have to install bars to strengthen the door joints. That car was not meant to ride without doors, so it compromises the body structure. Not to mention that if you were tboned your almost certainly die. Not a good idea
@@argon7479 Ok Karen... -First; it's not a car. -Second; How do you know you'd have to strengthen the door joints? Or are you just speculating? Exactly how much does it compromise the body structure? Perhaps it does a little bit but what's the worry? Are you afraid all the gaps between body panels won't be 100% perfect all the time? This truck was built for extreme off-road conditions and the frame will be twisted and contorted in every which way when on rocks or a crazy trail and it will be fine. Are you concerned that a body panel or two may not perfectly line up? Oh no! -Third; Considering that this truck and most others that might have these doors will be lifted vehicles, therefore if you were t-boned most cars would slide underneath it upon impact. Unless it's a semi truck and in that case you are toast no matter what. Plus it's the door jams themselves that would protect you in that case not just the thin doors... "not to mention" that his tube doors look more structurally sound and stronger than the light stock versions. I mean, come on man... this guys company makes BUMPERS professionally for heck sake.
@@zachhartson4819 I know because I've literally bent somebody's frame while they had the door open on their car, when it was fine riding for 19 hours with the door shut. Unibody frames require the doors to not bend, and when you have a car you are using the crawl over rocks, you're going to bend the frame. Most cars wouldn't slide under. They'd hit the bottom of the door frame, which now that there's no door, is going to bend straight upwards and severely injure, if not kill you. Car doors are designed to crunch and absorb impact, plus keep the person safe with soft plastic and airbags. This will just mean glass and metal shards shooting into the car. Look up Jeep impacts without doors. Those cars are actually designed to be stable with no doors, but crashes demolish them with no doors
@@argon7479 If that's the case, then it seems as though this guy didn't do his homework. Although being in the off road scene as he is, you would think this guy should know some of these things that you are talking about. So what you are saying is that this truck without its full sized doors on it AND closed, it will get structurally damaged once it's been driven off road? Considering he upgrades and builds many types of 4x4 trucks for a living, one might think that's something he would know about, that's all.

I could have got a jeep. I wanted something reliable so I got a Tacoma.
If men can become women, I guess Toyotas can become jeeps.

"I love the fact that it cost 40k for a loaded one". Wish I could say that too.

@@neftalireyes4517 never finance, alway pay cash, if you can’t pay cash, that Means you cannot afford it, if you could afford it, you would pay cash, check out Dave Ramsey, his financial teachings changed my life
@@titirititiri6360 the american dollar was built to be used as debt when they took us off gold standard so no financing isnt bad in any sense it makes most things affordable to those who are in working class.
This is what lottery money gets you
Yoh...this dude is packed in knowledge, and 200% passion.
I would do that if install was quick and easy. So I could use em for the day or weekend only.
Quick and easy.. lol the suspension alone took a few weeks I’m sure
Yeah, I'm willing to bet, the only feature quick and easy, is fueling it up at the gas station.... sick ride tho!
Too too many mods to list!!!
I’m a huge taco fan, and this build by far is amazing. I wish I had X amount of money to through at FAB 4 to build a mirror of the SLoTH for me. This is an awesome eye catcher that works. Those tube doors are awesome and breathtaking and I wouldn’t change a thing. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️
Like Britney Spears says bro "then get to work BITCH" 🤣
I just watched the whole video without skipping...I don't even own a Tacoma 😅😅
That Taco is MAGNIFICENT
I had a 2011 jeep grand Cherokee, the thing labeled as a station wagon and drove like a minivan. I love my new 4runner.
