Sometimes I cant help but wonder, with all the terrible risks all this genetic tampering unleashed, did they just trade one horror for another when they got rid of advanced machinery?

    • @similaritiesendhere

The point is that they don't mind the horror of a Kwizatz Haderach because someone with almost all of humanity's genetic memories will probably protect the species out of self preservation of their own genetics.
A.I., on the other hand, can turn on humanity in an instant. Even the worst human villains in Dune (House Harkonnen, Bene Tleilax, Honored Matres) work towards human supremacy over the galaxy. The Bene Gesserit can just control them from behind the scenes.

One of the main themes of Dune is the dependence of man upon things (even his own constructs) leading to his enslavement to them. Man becomes enslaved to machines to think for him. He then becomes enslaved to religion and pseudo-religious organizations, e.g., the Bene Geserit. He becomes enslaved to government, e.g., the Emperor. He becomes enslaved to the spice melange for space travel. He becomes enslaved to prescience to help him navigate an uncertain future. He becomes enslaved to a messianic figures who can see past and future. It requires the God Emperor to shatter the shackles of these things that threaten to enslave mankind so man can be free once and for all.

there's also a plot line in which leto II and ghanima goad alia in various ways to see what triggers abomination, as well as seeing first hand how abomination takes hold and expresses itself. they almost treat it like a game, balancing their need to get rid of alia with familial restraint (i.e. not going for the juggelar, instead letting alia sink down by herself). her eventual end comes at the hands of the twins as well, shortly after they draw out the baron ego for all to see. part of their motivation was to examine and decide on the subject of abomination. it's not until they themselves see the signs (and jessica confirms it) that they decide to go with the golden path.

Over my many decades pondering dune, its intricacies still intrigue me to this day.
An observation ive made about the BeneG , they really put significant effort devoting countless years and fortunes facilitating the emergence of a being that is by practical definition incapable of being controlled.
Not only were their major goals a gamble against the youse at best, they also maintained a gatekeeping position on spices further capabilities.
In later novels its made clear that males can undergo spice change the very same way BeneG do, and excluding them was potentially a mistake. Males could have bridged gaps and made the politics of the breeding program significantly easier. A male could father a great many children with similar women allowing significantly more, thousands more lifetimes added to the already diverse othwr menory. Just a few thoughts.

Reading Children of Dune it was just shocking to me that no one even tried to help Alia at any point. Maybe it's because genetic memory is such a ridiculous concept and it's not clear why a memory wouldn't be static but would exist like an active independent creature somehow, but most of all the repetition of "abomination" really seemed like an attempt to disguise there being no earned reason why it was inevitable and fatal.

That’s a mental coping mechanism for her. She sees the Kwisatz Haderach before her-the final goal for which she and millions of other Bene Gesserit before her have struggled and sacrificed-and he’s not under their control, not doing what they want or conforming to their desires. To see things go so horribly wrong (by her standards, at least) is the shattering of her entire worldview, and so she seeks refuge in a convenient explanation: that Paul isn’t the Kwisatz Haderach after all, that despite his power he’s just a mistake that can be fixed or removed eventually, and that the real Kwisatz Haderach has yet to come.

It just seems unlikely that Jessica would be the first one to set foot in there after so many thousands of years, given how pivotal that planet was for the entire galaxy.
It seems almost casual that lady Jessica would go there and be like "gee... I wonder if the Bene Gesserit have ever been to this planet I have to go to?"

I see now. Abomination is based on what may take place when Ancient Egyptians/ Gods & Goddesses connected to and thru Akashic memories.
This is available to every race on the planet. Yeah there is only one race who is exclusively connected far stronger than every other period because they are the original. The Black Race. In order to access a classic memory, one must have the embodiment of chaos, chaos a.k.a. means melanin the darkness the dark force the black dot.
It is the reason why our instinct in our energy is so in tune with our environment. We know when dangerous about to happen just before it happens moments before happens or possibly years before it happens. It gives us the ability of foreside the other supernatural powers many other cultures and races of people deemed to be demonic supernatural or unnatural.
Within the acoustic memory, is infinite wisdom for sight peering into the past into the future. But along with that comes from the energy of ancestors. Whose on eagles and or personalities can overtake one if the man has a presence of fear that can be magnified. A weakness that allows for possession to overtake the current body and which one is able to express and see many lifetimes of oneself or others through ancestry or bloodline. As well as the lifetime of others who are connected through the akashic memory.
I knew this sounded familiar. In Dune they are called the Bennie Jesuits. Apologies if I didn’t spell that correctly. I am using voice text. In Star Wars they are called the knight sisters. Usually it shows three they are the three sisters of legend throughout time. They hold immense power that is connected throughout the universe. In Greek mythology they are the three witches they possibly have a more official or different name. But this is what I know them to be.
It is not solely that they can only be in groups of three. But the number three in which they represent invokes an energy of power. The three witches the three sisters the three goddesses.
Whoever is the author of this book knows full well that throughout genetic memory or Morceau genetic itself. The female can be accessed throughout a longer period of time. Where is the males genetics has a more limited access throughout lineage. This is something that is known in science today. The female genetic trait can be traced through a longer period of time the genetic male trait has a limited lineage if that makes sense. He simply took that and flipped it around when it comes to the managers wits because of spiritual application. Instead of taking basically putting the limit that is natural and males to write in ethics and flipping around and putting on the females in his novels. It’s genius not gonna lie.
When I say the ancient Egyptians I am talking about black Americans. Not limited only to them but. I wanna point out the entire world was black there was no other race on the planet. This is why we are gifted with genetic inheritance down to this day. More so than any other race. This is why physically we are gifted in our physical application of physical exertion abilities. Any type of sport or physical activity we dominate in naturally. So myself it comes from good genetic gifts. And also genetic memory.
Whoever the author of this book or novel series is really knows their stuff and it’s not just what people think it’s science fiction or fiction it’s not real. This is all based on what takes place in real life. The things that they call demonic or witchcraft or no evil based on religion of today that was the world, before there was a religion it was only spiritual method methodology. Energy magic witchcraft was not known as evil it was just known as the thing to do. Back when many were tapped into the primal power.
This is a really great video. I can’t wait to see the next. Just subscribed notifications bell on!!!

@@marshalltjones Genetic memory is a real thing, not 100% in the Waze displayed and what was shown, but it does carryout trade similarly to how it was talked about.
For example if your tent generational grandfather was a serial killer and for whatever reason that genetic trait was passed over from 10 generations down into you and you have a tendency to one slice someone’s neck, that is it should be due to genetic memory.
The vast majority of science fiction is based on genuine reality. This is why I actually do with the term or the word phrase come from the truth is stranger than fiction.
The American government categorized as Black people as the God race. Due to our genetic lineage of power. Even in the Bible it refers to Black people as gods. And goddesses in the feminine form. Jesus a black man, also a god displayed powers and abilities for advanced and most of his own people within that time..
John chapter 10 verses 34 “is it not written in your log that I said onto you that you are gods.”
John chapter 12 verse 14 “ Great works I have done, greater works you shall do.”
Jesus, a black man, also a God. And the first scripture is specifically talking about the black race, I go in even deeper to refer to more than one race of people as the divine race, because we many of us have a spirit and a soul. Little known secret is every single race does not have a soul. What is a soul it is spiritual power. This is why some people who go to a spiritual experience die because they don’t have a soul that is a substance to withstand spiritual energy in different realms that exist identically in the same level that this 3-D physical realm does.
Because Black people are the first the original people on the entire planet we are the original race we are the progenitors every single other race, because it came from us. The government knows this this is the reason why might people more than anybody else has been treated unfairly unjustly and murdered in any type of way have no laws that matters for help us out in any type of society especially in America.
Learning these things throughout my life I started referring to my people specifically toward the male a black man as a God, and a black woman as a Goddess. I found it very funny that my own people reject their divinity, or will gladly except their own lower level Ness. Meaning if they are sin and evil and bad they will except that but if they are seen as a creator a divine being they immediately reject it.
For example my people refer to each other as Niggas, Defined the lightning in that. I understand taking a bad thing and trying to get into a good thing. But that word if you break it down actually means King. Something the vast majority of people did not know anyways I can talk to you about these things and go on and on but that is not my goal. Look up the god Simon cook or Simeon cook. He is a god whom exhibited powers and abilities greater than the one you call Jesus. The American government site to kill him and murder him and his body revive no matter how many times he was shot no matter how many times he was stabbed his entire body was cut up into many pieces they took those pieces and split them up on a plane. By the time all those planes got done landing he rejuvenated himself. And just in case you wanna question me look this up on TH-cam and see for your self. You seek truth, well it is come for you. Will you accept it or deny it. Remember the truth is stranger than fiction. Always

What a absolutely disappointing spiral into content farm this channel has become. Audio sounds like a 1950s tin can recording. can open any other video and its fine. but this one sucks. I dont understand why creators who were once respectable just stopped ever reviewing their own content before they vomit their Ai script read-through online. All of it laid over un-credited art, most likely just more ai prompts copy and pasted and reuploaded here... Pathetic.

Apologies up front for my overlong comment. Good video but it got me thinking about my main question(s) about the Dune Universe.
I could never fully get into the whole Dune Universe because of the Bene Gesserit. If you're into it all, B.G. included, awesome. Personally, I'd be interested in how that galactic mercantile organisation works, (CHOAM?), and why the Spacing Guild, which seems like it has a stranglehold on interplanetary trade and military operations doesn't just run the galaxy by itself or in tandem with CHOAM(?)and dump the hilariously antiquated notion of ruling by divine right-emperors and dukes and all that-on the trash heap of history.
As to the Bene Gesserit, and their "wisdom", ANY woman who has ever had her mother and one or both of her grandmothers, plus assorted aunts, great aunts, etc., trying to all give her conflicting and often contradictory advice knows too well that the idea of an endless line of descendants' voices-whether male or female-would be less than useless. Maddening for sure but HOW is this at all beneficial, let alone a crucial part of the reason the B.G. Order is so powerful and influential?
And I'm not buying that the individual Bene Gesserit could pick and choose who to ignore. How? The whole experience would be completely new to anyone attempting to awaken these past memories. A wrong choice seems inevitable, as the choices are virtually limitless, odds seem that the voice that you respond to, listen to, isn't necessarily going to be the wise one or the honest one, it's going to be the convincing one. And regardless, we are all subject to our own foibles, phobias, biases and prejudices, whether "honest" or "wise" or not. Did dying make these ancestral women infallible? Do cave women join in? The women who, during their lives, had no notion of anything beyond their home, their village, their planet? Do the millions of women who held while alive, religious beliefs have anything to say about that now that they are dead? Is it all a sham? The orange Catholic Bible an abomination? Is connecting to a B.G. adept a form of Hell? So many questions.
I don't think that Mr. Herbert knew a lot of women. Not saying anything against women. I'm one, we're swell. Awesome. Neat-O, even. But people suck. Some people suck all the time, most only suck some of the time. Taken as a group, of varying suckage, all clamouring for your attention, you're better off trusting in yourself. And if you kind of suck too, it comes to the same thing, so, why am I risking my life to open up this potential trip to the Looney Bin, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 Dollars to listen to people who likely suck about as much as I do? Again, Mr. Herbert may have held some odd notions about women or ancestral wisdom or the value of listening to someone so out of touch that your daily life might seem like magic to them but I'm not buying it.

You're kind of ignoring the biggest part here: They might suck, but they have information. Information is worth more than gold, especially after the Butlerian Jihad, and that combined with an order of women who can basically read a person's mind and downright influence it means a lot of power.
There's a reason why B.G. Rev Mothers go through rigorous training and conditioning, exactly what you mentioned: Reduce the risk so they become able to truly wield the information and not go insane. Even if the people before you suck, they have crucial knowledge that you could use about others. Relatives of powerful people, administrators, queens, wise folk, they absolutely may suck but their knowledge is indispensable and highly useful when running a covert organization. Nobody worth their salt would shirk the power of knowing how to escape past mistakes.
