- Routine service on a ideal Icos turned into a nightmare. See us do a full strip and clean, how to remove the cases, fan, burner, clean the sump out, remove and clean the trap as well as showing potential fault areas and areas to check while doing a service.
Plumbing and heating is never straight forward, sometimes a 45 min service can turn into 90 mins and some hard conversations with customers
Again thank you for the continued support, the draw for the Wera screwdriver 1k sub will be done soon so make sure your subscribed
Sub goal 1200/1500

One of the BEST VIDEOS ON THE NET for this model…BIG TANKS
🙌👍
Your brave stripping that down lol everytime I even look at these something breaks!. Last one I did I replaced an external expansion vessel. Then fan went, then prv started leaking. Then pump jammed. Then got failure to ignite due to ignition leads cracked... nightmare!
Icos/isar can be like that, seems like you fix one thing you break another 😅
Horrible job swapping the hex, knock it owa to bg for a fixed price repair 😂
@@gazzagasco used to swap them at ideal and BG, no word of a lie, I’ve swapped one of them heat exchangers in 30 mins while at BG, booked in for 3 hours, nice early day 😂
@@bluebulldog_uk I always, put a lead in they’re facking shite. 30 minutes of crying when ya see that it’s the hex leaking.
I used to find an empty toilet duck bottle or bleach bottle ,the one with the shaped neck worked great filled with water to clean the heat exchanger ,easy to direct the water as well and keep it away from the electrics . We had quite a few of this series and without doubt they were the worst boiler made by Ideal and probably every other manufacturer..We were replacing them after five years because they were uneconomic to repair.I would avoid them like the plague.Mine always got a complete stripdown but just absolute crap.Glad I am now retired.
You’ve got to be safe with gas…..but kudus to you for your attitude.
Great Job
Thanks mate 👍
Always watch you’re TikToks always find very helpful information from yourself currently gone self employed and loving it!! Keep up the good work bud
Thanks mate glad there helping you out 🙌👍
The other issue is the logic burner seal is garbage and still leaks combustion after a new one due to the seal being flimsy paper
Good content. Thanks mate. Feel for you needing to deliver the bad news. Head up for doing your best though. Many wouldn’t go to the lengths you did.
Cheers mate, not the best feeling telling her but is what it is, can’t be helped sometimes
Loving you video,s
My Boiler is making a kettle noise and then locking out, is this a blocked return pipe to the Boiler as the boiler is overheating? It has had a new pump and 3 why zone valve?
Sounds like a blockage or maybe a weak pump
Regarding the gas rate are you sure it's not just modulated down. Also check that the black tabs have been put in the PCB in the correct place as that can affect the gas rate as the boiler will think it's a higher/lower kw
Great shout I have had that before and customer never realised
@@bluebulldog_uk I had one the other week I was doing a service on icos he15 when I had rated it, it come out as 33kw, when I checked the tabs on the PCB it was set up for 36kw combi 😂😂.
@@Zaine22 wow!!! Halved there gas bills for them 😂😂
@@bluebulldog_ukwhy would you expect a customer to know about this?
Good spot on the different size screws. I don't understand why manufactures don't make all screws the same length. It's like Worcester that give you longer screws on their vertical flue adaptors wtf 🤔
Life would be a lot more simpler 😅👍
Ideal isar and icos were shite when they came out and time isn’t kind, the problem is there’s loads out there due to bulk buys that house builders got special deals for, I condemn as much of them as I can.
That boiler is dreadful to work on. One problem to another. The last one i work ended up with LF fault code. The has not been service for 7 years and spilling CO through sump cover. Then, i replaced the sump cover with new, decided to give it full stripes down service. Put everything back in reverse order. Boiler started showonh LF fault. New ignition lead ,new electrode. No joy
Sound like a right nightmare, LF is a nightmare as well sometimes
Detection lead insulation cracks and shorts out.
It there a reason you don’t use a cordless?
Cordless hoover?
Blast from the past. Made a fortune off those pcbs
No earth pins........ how many 1000's of those have we swapped over the years mate
Soo many mate, lost count 😂
I'm surprised every time I find one of them in the wild, truly awful boilers
Find with the isar and Icos they either go through there lifetime with barley anything going wrong or constant problems, can’t be many left now
Yeah gotta feel for ya having to give the bad news.
Last engineer there is a p*#%* for leaving it like that.
Did the old girl have any family to help her out. I guess you could have asked for some support for her through these green energy charities 👍🏻
She has family and been in touch with age concern etc but no help, I’m putting her a new boiler in next week
Swap it
That will be another video in a few weeks, had quote accepted yesterday 👍
