    Hey Lene,
    when I was seventeen I went into a dark room, and thought there should be light, and spent the next five decades trying to find the light and banish the dark.
    It took all that time to realise it's a dance with both, and the gift of the brave Ren, is to put this realization into such a compelling piece of art.
    My clumsy footsteps have found a path that is deeply satisfying to walk along.

    Firstly Hi, and congratulations on putting yourself out there.
    I've asked the same question. Am I watching too much Ren and his collaborators?
    In a funny way the question could be associated to my doubting side as in Hi Ren. Suggesting that you shouldn't have too much of something that you enjoy. That maybe your overdosing, and that's a bad thing, because you're doing things to excess. No, I enjoy it, and I also enjoy others enjoying it. I also like to identifying the ones who tell you they do but their behaviours tell you something different. Are they worthy of my subscription are they worthy of my interaction? At the very least falling into the Ren rabbit hole distracts me from the over powering crap and negativity going on in the world. With Ren I find it quite clear cut. That is that there is no hidden deceit. What you see and hear is genuine and delivered with honesty, desire and love. How refreshing. Why wouldn't you want to listen again and again?

      Hi Dean! Thank you so much! The world is full of should's and shouldn'ts and that's a very violent language when it is used internally and externally. It is leading us to believe that our human-ness is inherently not god enough and that we have to do differently or more or less of something to be enough. We have many, many theories of why we do the things we do, but I like to subscribe to the belief that things are correct - even if we don't know it in the moment. That what ever we are doing or experiencing is preparing us for that to come, and it is always giving us opportunity to gain wisdom and clarity! Even when it seems not!
      I have really learned a lot from Marshall Rosenberg - nonviolent communication, when it comes to how the language we use affects everything! I changed as a person by becoming a student of nonviolent communication!
      What may I have done well in this video? I am trying to learn how to serve you in the best way! :)
      I JUST made a facebook group as I feel that we as a community, binging down on Rens music, miss a place to connect more easily and personally. I would like to share my own reaction videos there as well as encourage you to share your favorite reactions too.
      I would love to see you there!

      It's funny---it depends both on my mood and on how the reactor reacts, whether I cry or not now when I watch "Hi, Ren." Also, I wonder: do you (or others) laugh? I do! You see, I think one of the actual signs of positive mental health in dealing with that dark side within all of us is sort of allowing it to speak to us through humor and creativity. I think a lot of comics understand this. And, I'm sorry, but the dark Ren has some of the song's funniest lines and catchiest music!

      I have also noticed this. When "dark Ren" sings, the music is moving/affecting my body more. And if you watch carefully, you can also see so many people on the reaction channels starting nodding or moving their heads or their whole bodies as "dark Ren" takes the stage.

      Ian. I am humbled and grateful for your comment! I imagine those 20 years being very confusing, frustrating and distressing! We all have something we can relate to Rens art, and the beauty is how we are now opening up to one another, discuss the topic of mental, emotional and spiritual health and allow ourselves to further heal in ways we might have been unable to earlier! I am glad to read you feel connected to me, as a big incentive for me in putting myself "out there" is reaching people open to looking into the dark corners of their mind and spirit in order to understand, forgive and let go! We are stronger together and as we allow ourselves to heal, piece by piece, we are puzzling the shattered world back together!

    A big hug for you Lene!!....No one better than you, to make a reaction video and analyze this incredible singer who is leaving all the experts, literally with their jaws on the floor (Do you remember Jim Carrey's movie "The Mask"? well, just like that)...In 2017, a 22-year-old singer from Kazakhstan, named Dimash Kudaibergen, was invited to participate in the famous Chinese program for professional singers called "The Singer"... In his first appearance, Dimash covered one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse"...Since then all this madness began on the internet, TH-cam and social networks worldwide and he is already considered the best singer on the entire planet... It is almost impossible to see a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges of 8 octaves, that is, the 88 keys of a digital piano, which allows him to reach all registers, both masculine and feminine, that is, he can sing as Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Contratenor, Contralto, Mezzosoprano and Soprano....You can see in TH-cam to all kinds of experts (Vocal coaches, analysts, singing teachers, singers, youtubers, reactors, etc.), who have dedicated themselves to watching his videos and verifying for themselves that what is said about him is completely true...In addition to all this, Dimash is capable of singing in more than 12 languages....In all his concerts worldwide, tickets are sold in just seconds, via the internet, due to the immense popularity he has worldwide... Anyway, I think you haven't met this impressive singer yet, so here is the link to the first song that Dimash performed in China in that year 2017, the song S.O.S., and if it doesn't bother you, I would like you to mention me as the person who recommended it to you...Warning: You have to be prepared for thousands of views, comments and new subscribers...The video It is more recent, so it does not have the millions of views that the first ones, but it is more complete, including an intro, subtitles in several languages and better audio and sound quality...th-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/w-d-xo.html

      A big hug for you too, Roimer! Thank you so much for your incredible supportive comment and for the suggestion! I do remember Jim Carrey's movie, "The Mask"! Jim Carrey was one of my favorite actors growing up alongside Robin Williams and Will Smith, and today as I have "gotten to know them" as people and not actors I can totally understand why I liked/like them so much. Incredible people with big hearts! I have not come across the video r singer that you mention, and it will for sure be interesting to witness it. I really love languages, and if the singer is also singing in multiple languages that further spurs my interest! When I was a kid I was hoping I could get by in at least 10 languages by the time I hit 30! Well... I didn't know how hectic the life of a grown up could be! 'Nuf 'bout that!
      If I will make a reaction video or a video of other sorts about this, I will remember you, Roimer!

    OMG, how I can relate! And OMG, did I just use OMG ... LOL ... aaargh, I'm caught in Emoji Land! Yikes!! LMAO ...
    As you know from reading my blog series on "Hi, Ren," I've watched a lot of "Hi, Ren" reaction videos and, I don't think I'm just getting stuck in recency bias, this one really is one of my favorites.
    I think it's exactly because you DO get so personal----I actually think that's one of the points of "Hi, Ren," now that I think about it---to invite creators/artists to become personal in their work. To express authenticity and vulnerability.
    I can very much relate to your talk about bipolar. Hearing you talk about it has convinced me it's time for me to start writing some blog posts/creating podcasts (and maybe videos) about my experience with it, because I suspect that condition is MUCH MORE than our current understanding recognizes, and I suspect it is much more common.
    I also love how you talked about psychedelics----this topic and how society comes to grips with it is extremely important because we are---perhaps globally, but definitely in richer countries---not a psychologically, emotionally, or spiritually healthy species, we are SO disconnected from what it means to BE HUMAN. And psychedelics CAN be a way to reconnect.
    Okay, obviously your video has cajoled A LOT out of me. Keep it up!
    PS As an amateur astrologer, one of the things I strongly intuit about our current zeitgeist, as Pluto moves through Aquarius over the next 20 years, is this idea---Express Authenticity and Vulnerability---is extremely important. So I want to end by re-iterating that for ANYONE who has read this long comment! (Ha ha, a long comment for a long reaction vid!)

    • @LeneLarsenNorway

      A long comment for a long reaction video, is just right - and very nice to receive! Thank you for your comments. You have such a great way with words, Bryan! And I really appreciate your praise, as I felt connected when I read your loooong article about Ren. You did a proper piece and it was a great one too!
      I am very glad that so many people seem to appreciate the honesty, openness and vulnerability. I Am not sure witch route I'll take with this but it will definitely go in the direction of plundering over the human mind and spirituality,... I am a trained hypnotherapist, and although it is years since I practiced, It is still very much a part of me to analyse how our surroundings and the words we use impress the subconscious.
      Ren has knowledge. And he is using that knowledge.

    • @bryanwinchell2485
      @bryanwinchell2485 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Phillips wife Susan here. I wonder if the distorted music when Ren is singing about darkness (evil) affects us in a similar way to a psychologist showing patients the ink blot pictures. I think it makes us face our shadow. Then when we hear calm integrated Ren speaking about hope and light we can get in touch with our own inner strength and how we can deal with our issues better. I think different parts of the song hit people in many different ways depending on our own life experiences. I think we can watch Hi Ren many times because we don't stay static in ourselves so each time we listen there is something new to understand about ourselves.

    • @LeneLarsenNorway
      @LeneLarsenNorway  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So very well said Susan! I believe that to be true because of the so unsettling feeling I get when hearing that, and I know that it is because I am getting a sense of my own demons moving about in my periphery! No other person or situation can ever MAKE us feel anything, we are feeling certain things based on our internal world and we have the feeling and we get triggered in different ways based on the stimuli we experience. So in that sense Ren does not make us feel anything but he has created some stimuli that commonly talks to our senses, and as our inner world change, we'll understand slightly differently and therefor also react differently.

I too am deep in the rabbit hole having found Ren's work a couple of months ago and am completely blown away with his song writing ability. His lyrics are deep and personal at times and that is when he manages to touch at the essence of what it is to be human with all the joys and struggles that come along with that. It was interesting to hear of your venture with plant-based medicines too, I think they can be extremely beneficial when used in the correct set and setting to help us heal ourselves in a way traditional medicines cannot begin to touch!
